Nero is fun to use if you actually pay attention to his move set. Since he has less inputs than Dante, it makes it easier to refine the moves. Great video!

Kinda wish that they made us choose 3 or 4 max devil breakers per mission, but they don't break and we can switch between them like dantes styles. the arm break button, LB would be the devil trigger just like all the other characters in the game. there would be like a battery or super bar that you use for devil breaker ults. I've seen lots of people just go not using the devil breakers because of how fragile they are and not use ults to not break them. the breakers could just get disabled temporarly if hit when using. it'd be simple and beginner friendly while letting experts pull out amazing combos

Well now I don't feel so bad for favouring Nero. Came in off the heels of finishing MGR on V.Hard expecting to have a Bad Time(tm) but only started struggling when the game handed me Dante and took off the kid gloves. Made sure to play on Devil Hunter, too. Didn't have the heart to do a proper second playthrough, Vergil handed my ass to me enough when I was using Dante that I was more than content putting down the controller after Nero's victory lap. On a related note, Royal Guard is broken.

Nero's Bringer Knuckles is one of the best upgrades I've seen for an action game. His combo potential skyrocketed once he unlocked those.

I love nero, both as a character and from a techbical point. DMC 5 is my first devil may cry game, and ill be honesnt, dante's 4 styles,different melee and gun weapons all being tied to one button for the styles and weapons of the associated styles along side just basic mechanics made it difficult to learn. but nero. i could ignore the rev, focus on chargine just the gun, and the devil breakers had their own button and not an entire movelist of moves so even if i didnt know what devil breaker i had, i know it would still do something to the enemy right in front of me. this allowed me to learn all of his mechanics at my own pace without feeling like it was overwhelming

I wasn’t a big fan of Nero in the fourth game, but I think mostly for unfair reasons of worrying that they’d replace Dante. You’re right though, he’s the perfect way to get used to the combat system without Dante’s intimidating repertoire. I learned to love Nero. DMC5 does so much right. Great video!

Are you on crack? Nero is the only character in the game that doesn't have any reliable damage he's horrible for beginners he can't even heal before you beat the game on top of being the only character the only has one dodge an you have to upgrade it to get it to the point of other characters based dodge and on top of all that he has no variety I honestly hope they remove him from the franchise at this point the guy is dead weight through and through

FINALLY! Someone else who caught the Ice Worm/Dune reference & the Enforcer/Dark Souls reference. I literally thought I was the ONLY one. Balteus was never difficult. I literally took a break before fighting him on my 1st playthrough to go in with a clear head & prepare myself for a tough fight. 6 tries & he was beat. I no longer trusted the community about anything & refuse to update the game since I don't want an easy boss easier. In no way shape or form was he a filter making you change your buid. You are WAY OFF about Ayre. WAY OFF!

Ibis was my favorite fight, it was the one fight I couldn’t just tank leg mini gun to death. I still haven’t quite found my build for this fight but I hope to because it truly is fun. All mind Iguazu is only hard because of sheer numbers, I tank mini gunned and needle launched each down one by one on my 2nd attempt.

The sea spider gave me a close amount of death counts as Baller Tay Us. Took me a long time to figure out that more armor was not the answer. Built a pure snider build and ripped them both apart using duel sweet sixteen, laser slicer, and split missile launcher.

Why is it the “best generation” because the generation that grew up with the internet grew up with the xbox GameCube and ps2. The GameCube is overrated as hell idc I grew during that generation but I would rather play most other Nintendo consoles over it. The Xbox started online gaming in a big way and had halo other than that mostly it didn’t do much. The ps2 is goated and one of the best gaming consoles but the other 2 and the Dreamcast ain’t doing nothing

I watched the leap from the 5th to the 6th gen, and it was mindblowing. But man, the jump to 7th was something else. We will never see anything like that, ever again.

the title makes me realize that i dont think enough people realize that a GOOD portion of zoomers first consoles was the 6th gen. like the first half/ older zoomers were born during the start of this gen of consoles so we have a lot of nostalgia for this and 7th gen

Hahah you are on point when it comes to the graphical leap in going from 5th to 6th gen... I remember the one thing that stood out to be the most was just how... SMOOTH everything was able to look. When I think back to the N64 and PS1 era, I think of sharp edges, jagged edges, 3D blocks and pyramids and stuff... When the 6th generation came out, I immediately noticed how much less of that roughness was present. Pretty much like your example of MGS1 Solid Snake and MGS3 Big Boss, characters now were much more expressive, expressions could be SUBTLE. There was a lot more detail, and everything just... generally speaking, looked more appealing from an aesthetic standpoint. I think the one game that absolutely, 100% blew me away... was REmake. You put the game next to the original and they're just worlds apart in terms of graphical fidelity.

I would add the caveat that the JRPG golden age was between SNES and PS1. There are so many good titles it's insane. Squaresoft, as they were named at the time, coukd literally do no wrong. They were making masterpiece after masterpiece after timeless classic like they had some sort of game dev god locked up in the basement. Then they merged... and became this weird abomination with bipolar disorder that either makes gold or pure garbage, with no middle ground.

I was Born in 83. I watched this industry grow. Yes the 6th Gen was Great but IMO the 5th Gen was the Best. It was the Wild West. A real Roller Coaster. Each Console and it's Library was very different.

Born in 1991. Growing up with Sega Gensis and then going to Ps1 to Sega Dreamcast was the most mind blowing jump ever . It really was unbeilable. 6th gen still looks amazing now imagine how shocking it was in late 90s early 2000’s.

As good as the 6th gen was, I just can’t look past how good the online multiplayer was on the 7th.

While some of my favorite games or sequels to them came from the 7th and 8th generation I do agree with your assement of the 6th gen. 7th gen felt like higher resolution versions of 6th gen games and brown military shooters, mostly. So 6th gen overall has it beat, but the 7th gen has a lot of aa games with the energy of the 6th gen.

My house was just PS2 Grandma had the Game Cube. My favorite PS2 games were Sonic (Heroes/Mega Collection/Shadow/Riders) and Crash (Nitro Kart/Twinsanity/Tag Team Racing).

see, my view of all of this, 6th gen was deffo the best when it came to gaming. but for modern gaming, i'd say the online indie boom was awesome and is still rocking, like it's that solid rebirth of 5th and 6th gen ideologies with none of the modern mess.

Grew up with 3, 4, 5, and 6 when I was older. I probably have the most nostalgic memories for 4, but 6 was objectively an amazing generation.

The PS2 slim was the GOAT! Yes, the Gamecube was slightly more powerful and the XBox had the online features but the PS2 wasn't just a great console, it was also a great CD and DVD-player and it was backwards compatible with the PS1.

I agree the 6th gen was the best gen. 4 great consoles. The DREAMCAST first to come out for the 6th gen. And the Xbox deserves more love than it gets now days.

7th generation is the best generation . Wayyyy better graphics , way better game catalogue, backwards compatibility, good online gaming and a more competitive console war . Overall the 7th generation is better

Using Kojima particles throughout (basically a super-radiation) its power and propulsion system allowed it to basically be a pretty much one-seater flying nuclear dirty bomb that can accelerate to supersonic speed. Older generation armored cores, named as "Normals" In-game appears as enemies in lot of missions. However, Pretty much everyone can pilot normals if they receive a proper training, but piloting a NEXT requires special ability called AMS compatibility. Basically a pilot's brain gets wired to NEXTs, allowing lightning-fast reaction time, but finding people with AMS compatibility is hard, to the point that a corporation deploying five NEXTs can be regarded as "they are throwing everything they got".
