Thank you for continuing to cover 4e like this! It's great seeing more people get back into this edition and realizing that it was way better than it got credit for. Now that we have more time and hindsight, I feel like now I'm used to seeing fandom tantrums/hate-campaigns like this in the years since then and now I know to look for whatever they're having a tantrum over because it's probably awesome and deserves my attention.

It is such a great resource, I love both DMGs for 4e, but this one may be my farvorite

Finally finished this whole stream. What a fun adventure and fun group!

I use those skills as guidelines. If a player spends some time trying to analyze the situation, I give them as clues to help them figure out how to go. But as with everything in the game, tell me a good story and I'll go with it. If you want to use intimidation to trash talk the duke's enemy, that sounds good to me. They also provide a baseline of DC's to work from. It's like alignment. If you think of this as boxes that they have to fit into, then it's clunky. If you look at this as guidelines and suggestions, then it's much more fluid.

I’ve never seen that essentials character sheet before. It looks too simple but I’m also always looking for cleaner alternatives to the main character sheet. The regular CS is efficient but looks messy. Any thoughts on the one in the red box?

Thank you for making this video. I like to watch these kinds of videos to see what was originally packaged in the sets so that I can compare them to online auctions to make sure everything is there. I would like to point out though that you don't really know what order the contents were laid out because they were already opened. Everything could have been rearranged by the previous owner or Noble Knight.

I noticed that your double sided map is folded to show the dungeon side rather than the wilderness side that mine does.

I got the original 4E Player's Handbook as a Christmas gift from my Mother in 2008. I was anti 4E at the time, but the gift meant a lot to me. It sat on my shelf for about a year before I finally decided to look at it, and was hooked ever since.

Nice to see these again! I started in 4e too, but didn't really find a consistent group to play with until 5e came out, so I never got to play this edition very much. I've always liked the early modules for 4e, and would be very excited to see you resume Keep on the Shadowfell should time permit. The party was starting to really get into the meat of the adventure!

Do you plan on maybe reviewing Tales of the Valiant by Kobold Press?

What I wanna know is what in-universe dishes, meals and delicacies you can expect, and what point of comparison you can look to in terms of flavor profile and nutrition when trying to substitute in real world ingredients.

I loved running 4th edition it’s a very clean game, was my favorite edition to run.the computer programs for character creation and monster builder were awesome . I understand why it got a bad rap, it was a difficult game to start

Oh wow! This video makes me really happy. Thanks so much for going through all of this. I had heard that the GSL was really restrictive and not workable, but it's actually perfect for what I'm planning to do. I'm already making custom monsters, items and powers and now I can use the templates for monsters/powers? Even put the D&D logo on my work? Perfect! Even though I won't be selling my content, it's just for the community. This is fantastic news. Also congrats on your application going through fine. I've watched your streamed games and I like them. Looking forward to seeing what 4e material you produce. I'll support you to get you going. A Greybeard adventure sounds great. You're doing heaps of great stuff for 4e and with this information, I hope that the 4e Renaissance really kicks off with more 3rd party content.

Finally caught up on this stream. This was a really entertaining group to watch. I'd like to see more of these players. Also I really like the part with the water where it was a puzzle/hazzard to overcome and not just combat, after combat in a dungeon. I do this with my group by interspersing puzzles/hazzards/traps, roleplaying and combat so it's not the same thing over and over.

The 4E engine is great; I loved it. Unfortunately WOTC dropped the ball with 4E from day one. Iv done several videos about it. Thanks for showing some light on 4E

But the 4e GLS was not a replacement for the ogl, but for the old "D20 system" license. For someone who just wants to make D&D products this might not matter much, but the ogl gave a lot more freedom if you wanted to make a different game.

So... WotC was scummy way before 5e. Anyways, you earned a sub. Im running DnD for my gf wife and using 4e. So Ill keep an eye on your content.

The changes sounds pretty good! Wouldn't mind more videos on class specific changes, as I haven't had the time to read the book either and this video helped give me a good idea, but I wouldn't mind knowing what else changed.

So you can't redefine the terms but you can add new terms right? That still gives a lot of potential for new mechanics for modules or homebrew classes.
