Great video! Thank you! Efficient and relaxed holds, movements and positions. Let the whole body take part the relaxation and efficiency from the very top of the head to the feet. This all begins by doing some stretching and Starker exercises prior to even touching the cello. You can't just dive in, but rather prepare to play and become relaxed and flexible beforehand.

very helpful - in moving from violin to cello, shifting is the second big hurdle I'm encountering, the first being to get my head around right-to-left being low-to-high, instead of high-to-low. That resolved itself pretty quick though - shifting is more of a challenge, and just hearing and watching these tips is changing how my brain is thinking of it (e.g. - starting out with a shift to 4th makes perfect sense, and maybe would have made shifting on a violin smoother 40 years ago ;) Anyhow, thanks for your content - I'll watch it all.

My Cello has Geared Tuners for easier tuning plus it reduces the tension on the E String.
