The Sarabande from the first cello suite by J.S. Bach is a slow dance in 3/4 time. The sarabande was known for its strange emphasis on the 2nd beat of each measure. Most pieces in 3/4 time have the emphasis or stress placed on beat one, but in a sarabande, it is moved to beat 2. This gives the music an entirely different feel than say a minuet which is also in 3/4 time.
