Drawing from his experience gardening above the 45th Parallel as well as his family's expertise operating Netta's Nursery in Posen, Michigan (Zone 5A, formerly 4B), Corey has a keen sense for what plants thrive both in his hometown of Posen and his residence in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Zone 4B).

My first thought was where’s the mayonnaise? 😂😂. Another informative video. I have some pieces I need to freshen up.
Confession... I have tried the mayonnaise trick. It did work for me on one stain, but I couldn't get the image of a chicken salad sandwich being smeared on my table out of my head :)
In the seventies we commissioned three Quinn Anne cherry tables. They were very pale when they were finished. They naturally darkened with age and Tung oil. I've hesitated to try anything on them to remove small water spots. How would the products you used react to tung oil?
Thank you! I had no idea there was a product like that. Very helpful
The results can be incredible -- just remember Restor-A-Finish doesn't work on polyurethane.
Thank you both for a wonderful video! 😊
Wow, I needed this video! Thanks!! #Bringbackthetinsel
Liam INSISTS on tinsel... he's frustrated the new stuff doesn't hang as nicely as the old-fashioned tinsel :)
@@UpNorthGardenMI
I agree. I love 1950's Christmas movies...the tinsel was amazing back then!!
Awesome video!😊❤
I like both pots but I like color. When it’s not the norm and still colorful, I like it.
Flower Hill Farm Zone 4B - Impatient Gardener Zone 5B Zone 6A Midwest - Growfully w Jenna (an experienced veggie seed evaluator) is top notch and Garden moxie for inspiration in designing your space…
Hey, I like your channel! I don't live in the US, I live in Sweden. I think my growing zone corresponds to your USDA 4. I like hearing about your varieties that are often hard to get in the EU. My local nursery likes to be challenged by me to try to get hold of the plants I've become interested in.
I just love your channel! A little bit of everything. You just do a great job!
Hi Corey! Thanks for your great advice. I’m in NH and a rezoned 6a. I watch Budget Gardner w/Vita Loca, Garden Crossings and Gardening TLC. Have a great holiday season 😊
Hi Corey. I'm reading the comments and it's helping me find other Zone 5 and below UA-cam content creators to start following. Thank you for putting this out there! 😊🌺
Impatient Gardener
I watch Impatient Gardener, Garden Answer used to be zone 5, Roy Diblik, Grow for me Gardening.
Hi Corey; I really enjoy your channel. Carissa’s Garden and Shifting Roots are a couple of Canadian you tube channels that I enjoy as well.
Shifting Roots and Gardening in Canada zone 3.
I watch Mya at Simply Bloom, she’s in northern Minnesota, I’m in SE Minnesota.
Thanks for your videos. I watch Jes she’s in Michigan 4/5 zone.
Flower Hill Farm
Ok, so many things to say. Glad you and Liam had a great show. Tea work, teamwork, teamwork . It is so great to see you both supporting each other’s interests. Very refreshing! Next, great video as always, I took tons of screen shots! Will you be releasing your seed starting selections soon? I gotta tell you, I ordered many of the same varieties that you tried (ie: pumpkin on a stick, marigolds and the pink and blue saliva ). It was really fun to follow along and see how mine measured up against yours. I hope that didn’t sound weird. Lastly, can you recommend a saliva that I can start from seed that replicates the playin the blues saliva? I want the crazy amount of blooms that this series offers but want to start them from seed. I was new to seed starting this year and I am hooked. I loved every bite of the process and want to try new varieties this year. Sorry for a novel but I had a lot to say! Thanks you for being real! Again , I love that you are not an infomercial for one specific brand and trying to sell everything that is sent to you for free.
Great vid as always Corey! Hope you guys are staying warm. My QVC Gerber daisies are chilling out in our basement, although I think it’s a bit too warm as it stays about 50 degrees. We just had a couple of them bloom the other day…in DECEMBER! Take care
Hi Corey! I love your videos and the info you present and especially your heart and enthusiasm! I want to comment on the Diamond frost euphorbia, as I love it so! In the summer I work at a garden center outside of Chicago and I have been sharing its amazing ability to sparkle up a pot ever since I learned of it. I have a hard time saying goodbye to some of my plants, so I dug up 2 Diamond frost and 2 Diamond snow from where they were growing in the ground, cut them back, put them in pots by my window, and they are coming out of shock right now and leafing out. Fun.
Impatient Gardener and Wyse Guide. Wyse Guide is a lot of cooking, but I watch for his garden videos. Grow for me Gardening. Like me, they are 5b, though they said we are both 6a. Bull. 😂
Impatient gardener, grow with me gardening( on upper state my). I love your show. I’m in t in western. MA
Michelle with gardening TLC. Garden center owner in IL. She is a hoot!
That is right! I forgot to mention her. She is about 1-1/2 hours north of me.
I’m in zone 5b/6a and these are the gardening channels in zone 5 or colder that I follow: Grow for Me Gardening, Gardening TLC, Seasonal Designs by Dawn, The Impatient Gardener, Here She Grows, Gardens Moxie, Garden Crossings LLC, Soil & Margaritas, and Budget Gardening with Vita Loca
I watch CreatingMyGarden Canada. It's the only zone 3 garden channel, plus, she's in my province. You're the next coldest zone channel I watch. I really love your experiments , especially on hydrangeas. It makes me want to take a risk on trying a zone 4 one here in zone 3.
Budget gardening with vita.
How did Liam do at the show? Love Chicago hanks for bring us along
The show went well. It's always a fun event!
I watch jes, she's in Michigan. Garden crossings and gardening by creekside, you,and Nicholas.
I love watching Jes!
👋 I’m very new to being a content creator, but a long time gardener on the cold and windy Saskatchewan prairies, recalculated from Zone 2B to 3A. I’ll try to push Zone 4 shrubs and perennials, not always successfully. Love your channel ❤
I'm your newest subscriber! Thanks for your videos... I'm catching up on them now.
I’m your second subscriber!

Hi Corey! Merry Christmas to you and Liam! Love, love, love Chicago
I love Temu lol
Thanks for sharing the happenings in one of my favorite cities. Absolutely beautiful!! I hope the show was successful for you guys.
Great to see you in Chicago!
Thanks for stopping by!
looks beautiful, im gonna try to get out more in the Spring and Summer.. obviously my mother wont appreciate me going out in the winter, but its Georgia.. over here its ALWAYS warm during the day.
Hi Corey! I spend a lot of time in the Merch Mart every year. I am a manufacturer Rep. and rep many furniture brands that have permanent showrooms there and temporary spaces on “floor 7”. Absolutely beautiful building, except the elevators take forever during a show! You captured many beautiful pictures of beautiful Chicago! I love going there. I hope your show was a success!
I love watching Liam vacuum really fast!!!
Have you tried the proven winners Marshmallow Bidens? I had excellent success with them. Non stop blooming. I couldn’t see the foliage for the blooms.
They're a great plant. I'm cautious about recommending bidens though because they can be a bit aggressive when planted with less vigorous plants.
Terrific video!!!!!
Here in coastal California it's in full bloom right now 😊
How did they do over the winter? What was your coldest temp? Thx 👍
No problem. We get well into the -20s most years. They are all varieties that are hardy in our zone.
Well that was fun! Good luck at the show! 🇨🇦🎄❄️👏
Building a mini irrigation system with solely 4mm/micro/spaghetti tubing always runs into issues quite quickly. This is due to the limited volume of water that can pass through a narrow tube. The first emitter takes the available water first and each subsequent emitter has less available water to use. Water is non compressible so the tube can’t be forced to supply more. A larger diameter supply pipe, say 13mm, could be used and each micro tube and emitter connected directly to the supply pipe. The supply pipe could run along a beam with micro tube dropping to individual pots. Drip emitters are outstanding for pots giving a slow measured amount of water allowing it to soak into the soil media. Drip and spray type emitters should not share the same supply pipe as all the pressure will be released by the sprays and the drippers will not have the required pressure to function correctly
In our growing areas we have the larger tubing with spaghetti tubing coming off of it… and that works great. I will say, there were no issues with water pressure with the regulated emitters in the WaterWise system… so that one gets the job done if you need 50 emitters or less.
How fun! Thanks for taking us along!
This was delightful Corey! Loved that the clips were in the same spot as last year 😅. Liam is going to do well; his art is gorgeous.
Where to buy
You’ll need to check with your local Proven Winners retailer (there is a store finder on the PW website). There may be some who sell the Double Delight begonia online as well.
Absolutely stunning video. So happy to see everything. Hope all goes exceptionally well.
Thanks for the tour! And best of luck with all!
Thanks for taking us along. The city looks beautiful. Good luck with your event. I hope sales exceed your expectations and make your holiday even brighter.
