    Yes, absolutely bring him back for more videos. Your yard will look fantastic next Spring. In the morning I'll talk to my husband about doing this in our woodland yard, we have kind of a prairie & pine trees and mow it down maybe 3x a year so it should work out great. I think the extra daffs on your parent's graves is a wonderful way to honor them.

    Hi Corey you need the Garden Answer auger so you can stand up with the extra handle on the drill and they have less flighting so they are lighter a true game changer. I am surprised how much I love mine! So sorry to her about your MIL, She was lovely! Yes bring him back!

    great video Can't wait to see your yard in spring. loved meeting Liam. I use my auger and it makes work so much easier. I put the drill behind my leg so if it starts to pull my leg holds it back instead of my wrist taking the twist. Have a great weekend

    Impatient gardener just increased the size of her bulb lawn. She used various bulb varieties with fine foliage that would blend well with grass and not stand out as much as the large bladed foliage of regular daffodils. Looking forward to seeing your lawn in spring!

      Liam spotted that video the day after we planted. His comment, “she planted 3,000, we’ve got room for more.” This project is definitely NOT done. 🙂

      @ I’ve admired bulb lawns, but in our pnw zone 8b climate we’re well into summer before bulb foliage dies back. Lol it’s hard enough when July rolls around and I’m still looking at slowly browning clumps in the beds.

    A bulb auger is a game changer! A got the Laura Garden Answer power planter edition so I can auger holes standing up. You can plant a hundred bulbs in about 1/2 hour. Last year I tried to plant about 300 bulbs and I started with a hand held bulb digger. After about 50 holes, I cried uncle and ordered the drill and auger. Crocus and Tulips don't work for me due to critters. This year I did hyacinths and daffodils which the deer and critters leave alone. I also tried iris reticulata for the first time. I do have the handle for my drill it does help but you do have to be careful. My condelences on the passing of mom. What a lovely idea!

    Welcome Liam 😊Corey, we’ve been waiting for this moment, you can’t un-give us Liam ☺️ That would be like holding a steak over a pit of lions and saying here kitty kitty then taking it away 😅
    Welcome to the party Liam 🎉 I hope your hand feels better.
    I went thru the same experience. I have a cheap auger and a pricier one. With the long one, always center over it with a good grip, as you learned, using the hit and run method. With the short one, I was in prepared soil and it did exactly what Corey said the skinny hyacinth auger did and filled back in, which for me it ended up being that I was using the short auger just for fun 😂

    Corey and Liam, I loved that you were together in this bulb-planting video, so please make more appearances in future videos. I have a suggestion for you to consider when planting spring bulbs, get the 36" long Laura Addition auger manufactured by Power Planter. Right now, on the Garden Answer website, they are giving a discount of 15% off on their augers until November 7th. It sure saves your back while working outside digging holes. ~Margie🤗💐

    It's going to look great. I can't believe the roofers picked them and put pallets of shingles on the lawn. I've never seen that here-they always put the packages of shingles in the driveway or immediately on the roof.
    For the auger twisting, can Liam hold it so the other part of the drill is against his leg (ie if it twists, it hits his left leg (in the video) rather than having room to spin)?

    • @UpNorthGardenMI
      @UpNorthGardenMI  Місяць тому

      They put boards down to catch the shingles they were removing… that’s how most of them got flattened.

    You can really damage your wrist using g the augers. I saw someone solve the problem of the augers wrenching his wrist by bracing the drill against his thigh.

  • @elainewashington3004
    @elainewashington3004 Місяць тому

    I use may augers. Longer is always easier. Having a drill with a handle is so much easier! Buy a great quality auger. I found I got better at using the auger with practice!
