Love it! I used your same method on my one bed this summer and planted in the ground cutting out the cardboard. It worked really well! Had a few weeds/ grass up but it was easy to see and pull! Plants did really well inspite of the crazy weather! Glad you showed the Veronica dividing, I planted some this fall, small ones but wondered about when and what to do if I needed to divide them. I so understand the drop in bed, lol, I think most gardeners do, I agree it is hard to not suddenly want it more formal but go you, continue it and enjoy!
That sage at the beginning is gorgeous. Sadly I looked up the hardiness zone and it only hardy to zone 5...I'm zone 3. The garden looks great and don't worry about not planting in a straight row....plants rarely all grow the same way so it wouldn't be straight for long.
Zone 3 Manitoba here. Yes there are so many plants we can’t grow, imagine if we were zone 2! I think zone 5 would be perfect! Ah well, at least we don’t have earwigs!! Happy late fall. 🇨🇦👏🍁
I've been using cardboard, then just mulch 4 inches. Wait to plant for a few months. I don’t find the compost necessary since im planting down into the grass/humus layer. It works great and saves money. Compost is expensive and I can only make so much.
Northwest Michigan, I’m going to leave my Clary Sage to see if it overwinters. The seed pkg. says it’s hardy on my zone, I love to experiment while gardening!
I can't wait to see it next spring and summer!
Great video Corey, that method will certainly be successful! Zone 3 Manitoba 🇨🇦👏🍁
I love your videos Corey, so full of great ideas. I must go out and check my Veronica, I think they could use a split. Thanks!
Looks great.

I made a new bed this summer. I used cardboard and it worked well. The only problem I had is squirrels digging in it.
