Absolutely, I always say this is just my experience. This is the first time I'm using them. People should always watch every review they can get their hands on before they invest their money in something. They work great for how I use them but they may not be for someone else. 👍🏻

I have only tried the Cotman version not the professional line. They are on my list. 👍🏻

The shorter one is finer but the longer one does have a fine point. The problem is that because of the thickness of the ink, it comes off more like a broad tip. I think they both use the same ink but you get more in the larger one. I hope it doesn't dry up too quickly. That would be a waste. I think you are right. There are some finer Sekura gelly roll pens but that ink is very different.

Oh that's a shame. The small one I showed in the video worked well until it didn't. This one is working but I don't know how long before it dries out. White pens are very fickle. I've heard mixed reviews from people of this one.

Your English is better than mine. 😂 I have found the pigment in many other brands and I have used this much more since this video. Although it's a strange color, I like it just fine. My favorite earth yellow right now is the Mars yellow from Daniel Smith, but that could change tomorrow. 😂

That is basically what it is. The feed hole is enlarged because the ink is so thick but yes. I think you are paying for the amount of ink in there but if it dries out before you use it then it may not be worth it. I've used this a few more times and it works for what I use it for and I love how opaque the ink is but I'm still afraid it could dry out.

Give it a try. I never took it off I just thought I had to. Once I saw it was not a rubber stopper I left it alone. I think the white ink is just very thick. The breather hole is enlarged compared to a water brush. Let me know what you think. I still enjoy it, I just don't want it to dry out before I can finish it. 👍🏻

I hope it works for you. My biggest fear after using this a few times is that it will dry out on me before I can finish it. For precise lines I like the POSCA ultra fine acrylic pen and if I don't need the permeance, the Arrtx white gel pen. The Sekura are good too but less consistent.

Basically, yes. You may need to dilute it a little with some water since the mechanism to fill the feed is a little larger here. It might not be as opaque that way. Or you could widen the hole for the feed but you could run the risk of ruining the brush. Let me know how it works out. 👍🏻

It is called washi tape. It has a low tack glue on it so it comes off easier. This is also the Hahnemuhle 100% cotton paper which is pretty tough. It's a good combination. 👍🏻

There are definitely limitations. I think there are even more when considering that to make the white as opaque as it is, maybe the ink is drier because the pigment needs to be so concentrated. I don't know but I'll see how it works out. 👍🏻

I found mine to be more inconsistent when drawing over watercolor. It has been a long time since I've used them so I might need to give them another try. 👍🏻

I was watching Natasha Newton and a lot of her artwork is in this style and I thought it was beautiful. Of course I'm not doing exactly what she does as she is very good and knows how to embellish her work much more than I do. In short, it's interesting to look at and that's what I look for in art. 👍🏻

It's typically about $8 or $9. It's a lot of ink but if it ends up drying out quickly then it might not be worth it.

@@IllustrationsByPete Thank you! Not a terrible price, about what I guessed. I usually use diluted gouache with steel pens or brushes. It's not as convenient but looks like it works as well as that one.

I use gouache a lot too but I always end up diluting it too much and have to go over it a few times to make it really pop.

You are welcome. @IllustrationsByPete BTW Molotow has refillable acrylic ink pens, with nibs in different shapes (bullet, flat) and widths. They come in white and many other colours. I always look for refillable options, and Molotow has never disappointed.

That depends, I wouldn't use it if you need detailed fine lines. In that case id Zag. Have you tried the Arrtx white gel pen? I have found it to be the most consistent when laying down white over color, however I think it only comes in a thicker tip size. The Sekura gelly roll pens come in 05 (.3mm), 08 (.4mm), and 10 (.5mm) size tips. They are less consistent but overall they aren't bad.

@@IllustrationsByPete Never tried the Arrtx. I'll have a look at them, thanks! The only one that I have sort-off worked with because I find their white acceptable, but not stellar is the "uni-ball Signo". OK-ish product.

I have those as well but they are more inconsistent than the Sekura pens. I'm judging these on going over watercolor though. They might be better over ink.

That's what always happens to me with the white inks. It must be that they need to add so much pigment to make them opaque that they are naturally dry to start with. I don't know, but I fear the same thing.

They are very enjoyable to use and these Nouveau series have wonderful colors. I have the larger 24 set but I haven't opened them yet.

@IllustrationsByPete don't blame you. They are messy to the extent that I don't use them. I prefer my low maintenance watercolors

Only when you break the cartridge for the first time but I was thinking about a converter in a pen. There's no seal so there's no pop. But yes, you are correct, fountain pens do pop with a new cartridge. 👍🏻
