I don't get people complaining about the giveaways??? You're so thoughtful, always thinking about us.... your audience. And it takes courage to ask a company to host a giveaway in good faith. You are for your art people Pete, and that's why cheer you on, ALWAYS!
Excellent way to store your pens. Great shelves … who would have thought…foam board inserts😮😊. Congratulations Amanda, enjoy your brushes, fun to get new stuff. Love your nonsense and your sense of humor. 😂
I never thought about something so simple. Foam board instead of wood? That's awesome. I love your personality lol, keep being you! I can't believe you have haters tbh but there's bitter people wherever you go I suppose. They can keep their negativity AWAY!
It's just easier because most companies aren't making the exact thing I want. I'm a repurposer out of necessity. Unfortunately, it has me hoarding scraps in my garage of things I will probably never use. 😂
Oh my gosh, Pete… thank you so much for doing the shelf instruction video for me!! It’s brilliant and I will be buying some foam board to make my own! Have a blessed weekend! ❤
I'm glad I could help. If it isn't clear enough I can get more detailed. For the slats you could use a thicker foam board and then make the shelves out of thinner board. However you want to modify it to suit your needs. Have a great day! 🙂
Congrats to the winner! I already have so many brushes. So many... Those brushes do look really nice though, also appreciate that they're synthetic. Thank you for being so generous and including us along the way. I say boo, hiss to the grumpy butts that feel the need to complain, maybe it's because they didn't win... 😎
Hi Pete, I would love to see a video using those Diamine and Noodler’s inks. I’m just getting into fountain pens but I love using inks like watercolors as well. Thank you, I love your videos ❤️💙💛
What? How can ppl be so gd hateful. What's so wrong with giving things away or reviewing products? Man some ppl are just miserable human beings. Just miserable. Why can't they be happy for you and the winners. We all win really. You get the products which saves us money if they are bad because we get to see it. You get to keep making more videos for our amusement and ppl whom might not be able to afford to buy things they'd enjoy and help them create sometimes win. What's not good about any of that? Seriously, if you're one of those ppl whom don't like reviews and giveaways, , please enlighten me.
You can never please everybody. If there is something you can do there will be someone who hates you for it. It's ok, I have enough people who are appreciative and helpful push the channel forward. Those are the only people who matter to me. 🙂
I love your shelves! My boyfriend also has engineer brain and has made me a bunch of different ways to organize my supplies. If I clean my desk up a bit I can take pictures. 😅 I would love to see other people's set ups too! Maybe we should start a section on your website 🤔
That is an awesome idea! I will announce that soon in a video and start up a thread for it. I think you are an engineer.....of ideas! 🤯 Most of my engineering ideas come from my desperation to rationalize my hoarding. "I knew I was going to need that piece! " Does your boyfriend hoard? If he does, you know why he engineers. 😂
@IllustrationsByPete He and I work really well together because of the way our brains work, I have ideas and he brings them to life and then I decorate it (sometimes). He recently got a 3D printer which exploded the amount we can accomplish. And yes, he hoards too, everything from wood to electronic parts, and it comes in handy all the time 😆
@@IllustrationsByPete I recommend Bambu , I heard a lot of horror stories of people trying to get started in the 3d world but I set it up while my bf was at work and Bambu held my hand and walked me through it so easily. We got the A1 mini on sale and have zero regrets 😊 hmm they should pay me for this lol
I have a paradox here. It's the noodlers polar black ink. It is one of my favorite black inks to use for large areas because it dries very even and flat. However, I have ruined 2 fountain pens by using it in them so I only use it in brush pens. It says it's good to condition a fountain pen to write more smoothly but all I've found is that it gums up the pen and I don't recommend it for use in pens. I have not tried their other inks though as this is a beautiful black.
@ That’s strange. The only time I’ve had trouble with Noodler’s ink is when I accidentally left some Bay state Blue ink in a pen that didn’t seal well when capped. Once I discovered what I had done, I tried soaking it in a mild bleach solution. But it wouldn’t break down the ink enough to disassemble the pen for cleaning. I use Noodler’s ink exclusively for my artwork. Mostly “Heart of Darkness” which is a really nice black or a red ink from their “Russian Series”. I’ve got probably a dozen or more colors of Noodler’s ink. I also have quite a few of the Noodler’s pens. They are fantastic if you like a pen that you can modify easily to do specific tasks. Noodler’s also has nibs you can buy that are untipped and you can modify them as well. I usually keep an Ahab and a Nib Creeper inked up all the time when I’m doing line work on watercolor. I modified the Nib Creeper for very fine lines and the Ahab is used for wider lines. If I need to make some seriously wide lines I’ll ink up my Noodler’s Triple Tail that has the 3 tine music nib. I haven’t tried Noodler’s Ahab brush pen, because I haven’t needed to cover a really large area with ink. Okay, I’ve rambled on enough about all things Noodler’s. I’m not sure why you’ve had trouble with the Polar Black. Unless it was left in a pen that didn’t seal well. I usually don’t leave any inks in a pen that won’t be used within a week or two. I’ve developed an easy routine to clean my pens if I’m not going to use them for a while.
I probably need to try some of their other inks. As much as I love fountain pens I usually leave ink in them until I use them again but the diamine and color verse inks I have usually work right away as soon as I pick up the pen. I just checked one of them I haven't used in about 2 months and it wrote immediately. That's not to say they are better than noodlers but they are definitely better than the polar black. I may look into that brush pen version of the noodlers pen. That sounds very interesting. 👍🏻
@@IllustrationsByPete I’m pretty sure Gold Spot pens has the Ahab brush pen. Last I remember, it was around $25. If you eyedropper it, it will hold a ton of ink. I like using the Noodler’s .308 cartridges in the Ahab and Triple Tail. They hold a substantial amount of ink. It also makes it easy to store a bit of ink until I need it without having to deal with the ink bottles. You might look at “Heart of Darkness” for another black ink. It’s relatively cheap and it comes with a free “Charlie” eyedropper pen. Around $20 for 4.5 oz. of ink and a free pen isn’t a bad deal. Not sure if it will meet your requirements for an ink. But it’s always worked well for me.
congrats, Amanda! new stuff is so fun. i know i am a bit of a pen addict so taking me to places that sell pens can be dangerous. last time i made it out of popshelf with just two pens and i felt so proud of myself 😂
@@IllustrationsByPete if you do, they keep a large open stock. check them carefully before taking one home. some people should not be allowed to touch a fountain pen 😑

I always appreciate when I see organizational systems that have been designed from repurposed items. Great engineering there Pete!
