    "onion knight" is Davos. He smuggled food into Storm's end, that was besieged during the rebellion, and commanded by Stannis. The first thing that was unboarding from his ship was a bag of onions, and Stannis made his a knight, that's how he got that nickname.

    I love the look Tywin gives to the torturers the moment he learns they have an armorsmith on their chair. Like, it's literally a top of the list of most needed professions in medieval war. Not the top ten. The very top. Maybe second to siege engineer. Field surgeon would be also high. In today's terms, it's like your boss catching you at work with a blowtorch over a crate full of 100$ bills.
    edit: I rewatched that scene and he answers just "smith". Okay, that's not that bad. Just a one stack of bills worth.

    It was Tyrion's idea to return Ned's bones, and at some point the heads would have been taken down to make room for new ones. Of course, Tyrion didn't think Baelish would be slimy (and stupid) enough to make a move on Catlin..

    I’m assuming only Stephani reads the comments…
    I’ve never seen anyone come this close to figuring out Jon’s parentage just from the show alone; the foreshadowing is there but much more subtle then the books. They just need to connect Rhaegar and Lyanna, I’m actually confident they will figure it out before the official reveal which again I’ve not seen anyone do

      yes that was a interesting prediction for her to make but she threw me thinking that John and Gendry are brothers though. I mean they are basically the same age I think so I'm not sure her thinking on that one because that would be a quick turn around for Lianna to be pregnant twice so quickly or maybe I missed something relating to her thought process on that?

    we must keep in mind that while tyrion is "smart ", some of the things he does are "slimy " and evil. it was his idea to send littlefinger to cat to get her (instead of robb who he knows will refuse since a king has to look beyond family loyalty alone ) to exchange of sansa and arya for jamie and send ned's bones as gesture of goodwill. it was he who sent those women to joffery after seeing what he did to sansa. and he is now "using" his cousin to spy on his sister.
    also dany was threatening total destruction and burning of people in quarth for not doing things, they are not obligated to do . her sense of entitlement is not a good thing.

    • @IshtarNike
      @IshtarNike 4 місяці тому

      The threatening outside the gates wasn't exactly bad. It was desperation and she was kind of embarrassing herself to be honest. The potential threat in her fire and blood speech in the merchants house is less clear and not so much a threat threat as just "don't you know who I am" kind of posturing. At the end of the day she was a very young girl with a literal handful of Dothraki. I don't think that level of threatening counts towards anything really. Beyond being a traumatised mixed up child who was both poor and rich in the mixed up way of an exiled royal house. And brought up with an abusive older brother. I mean try to see the other side of things. At least in the context of the show. Is she an objectively good person by modern Western standards? No. Is she bad in the show. Not really.

    • @mariahdaley4773
      @mariahdaley4773 4 місяці тому

      I have to disagree about Tyrion. Yes, he did those things. But I would not classify them as slimy or evil. The exchange he was proposing would possibly prevent a war and return innocent children to their family. Seems pretty well intentioned to me. Also, he had no way of knowing what Joffrey would do to the prostitutes. He thought it would help protect Sansa in a way. Yes, he was making deals under the table, but I don’t see that as morally wrong in these situations. And keeping one step ahead of Cersei is never wrong if you ask me.

    • @sitting_nut
      @sitting_nut 4 місяці тому +1

      @@mariahdaley4773 i am quoting the reactors words for those actions. they attribute those actions to others but they are by tyrion. hence my comment.
      btw he said why and what he wanted by the exchange, manipulating cat instead of negotiating with robb, in last episode, and he was not saying what you saying. and as i said he sent those women to joffery after he saw what he did to sansa . he was sacrificing others to "protect sansa in a way". if you find what cersei is doing with her lancel cringy then tyrion using that and wanting it to continue for his own benefit should be at least as cringy too if not more.
      as i said he is "smart" but he also does "slimy" and evil things being smart.
      hero worship and prejudiced expectations of heroic actions when there are no heroes is viewers fault .

    • @mariahdaley4773
      @mariahdaley4773 4 місяці тому

      @@sitting_nut I’m not sure that I fully understand what you are getting at. If you mean that there are no pure heroes here, then I agree with that. It’s true that all of the characters have their faults, including the ones we love. It is fair to classify Tyrions actions as a bit unethical or even manipulative. But where I disagree is with going so far as to call them evil, or putting them on the same level as what Joffrey and Cersei are doing. As we saw with Ned, acting only with noble intentions will get you killed in this world.
      Also, I think we have different interpretations of what happened with the prostitutes. It seemed to me like Tyrion thought that Joffrey was acting out because he was sexually frustrated. He thought that if he had sex he would be calmer. I’m not a big fan of this way of thinking, but I think Tyrion expected Joffrey to have sex with them, not torture them. In which case, it’s hardly an evil act.

    • @sitting_nut
      @sitting_nut 4 місяці тому

      @@mariahdaley4773 i am sorry that you have reading comprehension problems. 1st you should leave out the strawmen. i am not disputing that tyrion has to do evil to survive and thrive. otherwise he will face fate of ned( same way if cersei did not not do evil she and hers would have faced same fate as mad king's daughter in law and children , and littlefinger not doing evil will make him a zero .) i am just calling( and quoting) some of what tyrion does by proper names ; "evil", "slimy", etc.
      if the same act is called slimy and evil when one character does it, and not called that when another does it, problem is with the person making statement based on double standards.
      you are free to reinterpret what happened with women and assume it is due to tyrion being not very smart nor perceptive about human nature . i disagree .
      on two other instances (from this episode alone btw) i cited, he is doing same things or worse, than others are accused of doing.
      there are no heroes to "love" in this show. viewer should love the show as a whole, not particular characters, all the major ones do the exact same evils .

  • @emdeeeff
    @emdeeeff 4 місяці тому +1

    It _is_ always interesting seeing just how much leeway people give to characters they've decided They Like And Are Good...
    I mean, a stranger shows up at your door. Well, _they're_ a stranger, but they're with 30 or 40 of their friends, who have been proudly robbing every house in town for years. They expect you to let them in and feed them. Inexplicably, you don't just refuse outright and call the police (and the Marines, for that matter...), but say that you've heard the stories that they're great acrobats, and if they can demonstrate that, you'll let them in. They refuse, so you decline to let them in. They then start screaming about how if you don't, they'll burn your house down with you in it.
    Then the uninvolved people watching all this cheer and applaud, and chatter gleefully amongst themselves about how excited they'll be to watch that happen.

    Also I love the theory about Jon at the start. I remember when I first started questioning who Jon was but I didn’t question Ned I was more questioning who his mother was. But I in no way thought too much into it I just was theorizing about different things with friends.

    33:00 The Disrespect to Stannis Baratheon . OMG 😂
    Just because Renly is a Bit Funny? He has No rights. He Plans to Betray and Kill his Elder brother Much before Stannis Considers anything.
    Stannis the KING by all Rights.
    I'll wait and see if the Girls Think differently about Stannis after the Histories & Lore Of Season 2.
    You're doing a great job of Holding yourself together STEPHANIE. 👏🏻😃

    You should make a timestamp mark of some predictions from Lindsay and Ashley to play towards the end of the series. Sort of an RLJ style video, if you will, when the time comes lol. That would be pretty fun.

    If you want to give us a nickname, I could deal with being named after Kitty Forman's wiener dog on "That 70's Show". I wouldn't mind being known as a 'Shotzie'. Just a thought.

    I've always presumed it's Ned's skeleton w/o the head. I was not sure Joffrey or anyone would let his head "go" off display. Sickening but yeah, not sure of course.

    Brutal episode with a lot happening in every scene. Definitely one of the hardest to watch is the one with Joffrey and the prostitutes. We knew he was a cruel before but this is next level sadistic behaviour.

    Al igual que las grandes conversaciones de Robert y Cercei no eran de los libros, también tendremos conversaciones de la Copera y Tywin que no están en los libros, pero que son puras obras de arte

    So many great moments:
    Ashley dropping the F bomb and then being apologetic for it.
    Ashley, “I think that was the most disturbing scene in the whole show. So far.” So far is the operative word.
    The look on Stefani’s face at the end as Ashley and Lindsay kept gasping “What the!”
    Lindsay now has to write a book called “A Pickle, a Beet and an Onion Travel to Qatar.”

    Ned being too loyal for a side chick was my thoughts too first time watching but I thought it was because Robert would had killed Jon because of who Jon’s father was….I also thought Jon’s father was “The King beyond the wall” for some reason (Can’t remember why)
