OMG. I have been going to Blanco Cafe since I was a child, now in late 50's. My favorite place to eat for breakfast and lunch. Now I no longer live anywhere near there. Thank you for showing this. Some of the cooks have been there for 40 + years. Thank you again.
The Blanco Cafe!!! Some of the best meals available on the planet! Thank you soo much for reminding me of this place. My father and I used to be regular customers before his passing. I now live on the east coast and I'm truly grateful to know the 'ol place over on Blanco Rd is still serving the people of San Antonio as they always have.

Wow! As a San Antonio native I have to say my eyes were wide open while I watched this one. Blanco Cafe is at the top of the list of my favorite places to eat which is saying something considering all the Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants to eat at here. You've always been my go-to channel for recipes but now I think you've just gone from Legend status to Sainthood status with me. Great work and thanks so much! PS. This looks delicious! A nice touch that I learned from my late mother-in-law (she was Hispanic from north central New Mexico) is to add an over-easy egg on top of the enciladas. Yum! She was an awesome lady and a great cook. I miss her.
I've been using V8 for 50 years in my sopas and rice, also in some of my salsas that require tomato sauce. My coworkers keep asking for my recipe of my salsas. Glad to see you using V8. Makes a difference...😋❤️
Just ate there the other morning. It is great. I used to eat there when we lived here in the 70's. Their breakfast tacos are huge and delicious! Very reasonably priced for what you get. Love that place. Not fancy by any means, but very good. Thanks for putting this together.
You always make incredible dishes,Mrs.Angelica. I can almost smell the aroma of the spices in carne guisada and the arroz. Thank you for your great recipes. You've taught me alot.
The only flavor in that Carne Asada that is Mexican is a little cumin. Otherwise, it was beef stew. Don't get me wrong, I'll be making it but probably put a couple of Guajillo peppers in there. Like she said, you can add lots of things to this base.
I love that your dishes are easy, well look easy..And also love watching you and your sister dynamic..It brings me some happiness. been depressed 😔..So u both and cooking helps..TY..🙏

I go there all the time! I actually live like 3 minutes from there lol. I get this exact same plate except I've never had it in chicken the more popular one is the ground beef one. Love their enchiladas been going there for so many years!!! Your recreation of it is perfect!
I've eaten there. It's the best restaurant in San Antonio. They make their huevos rancheros like they were made back when I was a kid, 60's. Now the restaurants just make the salsa and serve it next to the eggs or pour it cold on the eggs. They cook their food the right way. Love their food.

For Real! San Antonio is one of the best places for Mexican, Tex-Mex, and believe it or not Sea Food. I frequent San Antonio and each time I go there I gain at least 20 lbs. The combined aromas fill the air all over the city, and depending on which way the wind blows is to what restaurant you smell cooking. Great City!
Oh wow! Finally someone posted a recipe. I've been trying to recreate it for years. I grew up on Blanco. Always got the cheese enchiladas as a child not realizing what I was missing w the carne guisada.
