Not sure if this will help anyone for this engine. But a spin tech 6000 or flowmsster 44 delta flow is about the same as a muffler deleted but resonator keep on. Would still recommend a resnoator for a more tame / mild rasp control. Doesn't really done as long you got something solid.
Thanks, I was wondering what it would sound like. I'll keep mine quiet
It sounds like the Cessna 182 in Microsoft flight simulator 1998.

I got a flowmaster fx (bolts right on), walker cat, and stock resonator and tbh I really like it but your comments helps a lot anyway man thanks
Listen to mine. 4.2 I6. Cats, Super 44 FlowMaster Muffler, no resonator then the tip out the back.
I prefer your setup, sounds much more refined.
I have exact same set up
Do you have a video?
Sounds like an old jeep
Wow youre right
It probably does sound exactly like the Jeep 4.0L. Both are inline 6 engines.
i did the same thing and it sounded no different, the resonator absolutely eats noise on these things
Absolutely. I've been very happy with the volume/tone though. It's far better than some of the deafening aftermarket mufflers I've heard.
my resonator fell off and it honestly doesnt sound that loud
Any engine light ? P0420
It's been 5 years and no issues from doing this. This is more of a sound modification than anything.
You will only get a 420 code when the downstream O2 sensor detects the catalyst ineffencecy of the catalytic converter.
Sounds more manly :P
The Resoneitor is in the midel no rear is the mofle .
The video title is right. Resonator is in the rear. The muffler is in the middle
The muffler connects to the intermediate pipe that houses the catalytic converter pretty much in the middle of the system.
I gotta get one!!!!!!!
