I installed a Borla on my 95 F-150, factory pipe with gutted cats and the Borla in place of my factory muffler. Very nice upgrade. Better flow and it sounds great. A nice low pitched steady grumble, smooth hum on the highway. I recently purchased an 05 Trailblazer and this video confirms it for me, Borla has an exhaust tone that I'm looking for. Quiet but alive.

I’m not too sure of the model number. But it’s from Volant. I have another video with the Volant cold air intake install. Check out my Trailblazer content playlist and subscribe to the channel. It really helps! 🙂👍🏼

It’s gives a very nice tone under acceleration that’s not annoying and overbearing. 10/10 would recommend this system to all trailblazer owners if it wasn’t discontinued.
It’s actually an inline 6. Swapping engines isn’t really an easy thing with these trucks. I already have lowered cars. Don’t want to lower my daily too lol The 20s that came on the SS model trailblazers are nice but so expensive for a used set. I prefer the factory 16s with some meaty all terrains.
Yes. Yes I did 🤷🏻♂️😂 I live in a townhome and don’t have a garage so I had to make due with what I could find 🤷🏻♂️ I actually upgraded from that 10x20 unit to a 20x30 unit within the same facility. The new unit is a lot more comfortable to work in and I have actually been able to work on my Trailblazer in the shop rather than outside. I’ve done a full suspension build and transmission swap in the new shop that I would have never been able to accomplish in the old unit due to size. I made a vlog showing the new shop last year when I moved. Linked below. Check it out. 🙂👍🏼 ua-cam.com/video/Li_9C83pPxU/v-deo.html

There are 2 brackets that bolt directly to the frame and then you bolt the brush guard up to those lower brackets as well as the 2 other smaller reinforcement brackets that go through the grille. Those maintenance services will help you improve your fuel economy.
@@PASSIONBUILT oh yeah I always have a can or 2 in my trunk haha I always do half in the tank and a quarter in the engine oil great for balancing the fluids out and allows the sludge to get beat up quicker and sink down for the oil change, I got a wining pully system that's causing the drive gear to rapidly vibrate so I'm gonna have them look at the tranny just in case we think it's just the master pully and the idle pully causing a bit of knocking with the engine when in idle
Hey there! First off, maintenance is key. Make sure all of your fluid systems are up to date. Intake, exhaust, and tune from PCM OF NC are common mods that a lot of Trailblazer owners do. If you want a louder exhaust system. Just look up available exhaust systems and read the reviews before ordering. I was super lucky to find the Borla system I have installed at the junkyard. Hey man I have same trailblazer and have high pitched noise not very loud by high pitch from the rear of my vehicle I believe it’s the fuel pump are they normally somewhat noisy it’s not crazy loud but seems to get louder in winter any advice helps. Awesome video
Thanks for the feedback! As for your high pitched noise. I would have to be there to give you a better answer. Fuel pumps on our truck shouldn’t be loud enough to hear while you’re driving. I only hear mine at prime and that’s it. If your pump is dying it could be louder than usual or if someone has upgraded the fuel pump to an aftermarket high flow pump like a walbro or deaschworks. It could be louder as well.

I have not had any major issues because I have maintained it since I purchased it and I believe the previous owner took good care of it too. As long as you keep up with the maintenance. You should be fine 🙂👍🏼
I was able to buy one that was a garage baby with 70k miles on it. Its a 2004. I bought it 3 years ago and its been flawles. I like it so much that i sold my 2018 tacoma 4wd and kept the trailblazer. The tacoma had major electrical issues that the dealership didn't seem to care enough to fix. That 36,000 new bumper to bumper warranty means nothing to them. I will never buy another toyota ever again!
My family has a 2007 with 215k miles on it, it's had some power steering line issues but otherwise it's been pretty solid. Still runs and shifts great.
Hey man thanks for the vid. A couple questions. 1. I looked up the cold air intake from Volant, but they only have one for the 5.3L V8. Is that part maybe discontinued? 2. Did you end up getting it tuned? Did you have any issues with engine lights after the exhaust mod? Thanks!
I believe the Volant CAI and Borla exhaust for the 4.2 models has been discontinued. Never got it tuned. No check engine lights and still running strong. 😃
No problem at all. Thanks for watching the videos! I honestly don’t think the throttle body spacer did much. Like I mentioned in that video, It’s a mod I would never pay for but it was free lol The throttle body spacer does make this whining sound under acceleration which was annoying when I first installed it but I barely notice it anymore.

Hey there. The part number from Borla is 140006. However, this system has been discontinued. You might be able to get lucky and find one in the junkyard like I did or possibly find a used or NOS unit on eBay. I hope you can get your hands on one. It’s a beautiful exhaust system. Please subscribe to the channel and give the video a thumbs up. It really helps 🙂👍🏼
Can you buy this system online the thing that I've been trying to do is does a SS borla system work on a 2006 Chevy trailblazer as far as the resonator if I just bought the resonator and then built the system out from there because they don't have a complete kit but I do have a complete kit for SS wondering if it's the same thing
This system has been discontinued for a while unfortunately. The SS system is not the same. I’m sure you may be able to take it to an exhaust shop and have them make it work but it is definitely not the same.
If you cut the resonators off that are in the rear you'll get the sound you're looking for those are not mufflers just a useless trash cans , did it to my 03 trailblazer
You front all them parts at a junkyard or did you order it..? If so I'm trying to do that to mines I have a 2005 Chevy trailblazer LT V8 engine tho I need that ASAP
I apologize. I don’t remember the part number. This exhaust system has been discontinued from Borla. If I find it. I will post it in the description and send it your way.
This exhaust has been discontinued for some time now. I found mine on another trailblazer in the junkyard. You might be able to contact borla to see if they can make this system for you though.
I have a couple videos up discussing Trailblazer transmission options and upgrades. The only realistic option is rebuilding your existing or buying a rebuilt 4L60E. I got mine from Detroit Axle.
This system is no longer available for purchase from Borla. I don’t remember the part number off the top of my head. If you look down in the comments other people have asked the same question and I have listed the model number in those comments. 👍🏼
Hey there. Unfortunately, these Borla exhaust systems are discontinued. But if you’re ever lucky enough to come across one. Buy it and take it to your local muffler man. They would be able to install it in no time at all! 😃
Another dude just cut out the muffler and added a cherry bomb sounds like a Supra save the money and go with a cherry bomb and if you think about it a super is no different from this type of engine they run single exit exhaust
The engine in a Supra is completely different. Yes, it is an inline 6 engine but it’s not built the same. This Borla system was an extremely cheap junkyard find and I enjoy the look of the dual exit. If I never had found this system in the junkyard I wouldn’t have upgraded the factory exhaust at all. It’s honestly not worth it unless the deal is too good to pass up. Also, this is my daily. I’m not going for a noisy exhaust system. I have a turbo Miata for that 😅
Thanks for your feedback but the sound in person is different. The microphone I had back when I made this video wasn’t able to capture the true sound of the Borla system. I’ll be honest and say that the Borla isn’t super loud or anything. But it’s very nice and toned. Much better over the factory system.
In person it does sound significantly different. Sorry about the poor audio. I’m going to make another revised audio video with a better mic sooner or later.
The mic I used to record this video didn’t capture the difference that well. There’s definitely a difference. The Borla isn’t loud. But has a very nice tone under acceleration.
There is definitely a difference. But the mic that I had at the time of filming this did not do a good job of picking up the sound difference. The most noticeable difference is under acceleration. At idle the exhaust system is very quiet and tone. It’s a great system and sounds fantastic under acceleration. Thanks for the comment though 🙂👍🏼
I actually got this whole set from the junkyard and I think I spent like $60. It retailed for about $1,300 before it got discontinued from Borla. No money wasted. Never planned on upgrading the exhaust system on this truck but when I saw it at the junkyard I had to grab it. I think it was $60 well spent. 😁 check out the video below. It shows all the goodies I found that day at the junkyard and only spent $120 for everything I found. ua-cam.com/video/U-HPlwmmNBU/v-deo.html
@@PASSIONBUILT the best thing about that expensive exhaust that you magically found for $60 is the T-304 stainless steel pipes. Try it with a Dynomax Ultra Flow X muffler and make sound exotic!

What did you do with the 02sensor
If you cut the resonators off that are in the rear you'll get the sound you're looking for those are not mufflers just a useless trash cans , did it to my 03 trailblazer
Thanks for your input 🙂
i just got me a 03 so i will like to do this but one question for yaa...
were the hell did u find that used and for how much???
At my local LKQ. The video I linked below shows all of the parts I found at the junkyard. 🙂👍🏼

Hey, question. Can you straight pipe a borla exhaust to get it louder? But still have the better fuel economy, and torque.
Honestly couldn’t tell you. 🤷🏻♂️😅
You front all them parts at a junkyard or did you order it..? If so I'm trying to do that to mines I have a 2005 Chevy trailblazer LT V8 engine tho I need that ASAP
All parts were found at my local auto salvage yard. Check out the video linked below. 🙂👍🏼

What Borla system was used, I have a 03 LTZ I'm working on
I apologize. I don’t remember the part number. This exhaust system has been discontinued from Borla. If I find it. I will post it in the description and send it your way.
Did it even make a driving difference? Power torque etc?
There was definitely a noticeable gain in power. Nothing crazy. Probably could gain a little more with a tune.
Where can i find that same exhaust setup ?
This exhaust has been discontinued for some time now. I found mine on another trailblazer in the junkyard. You might be able to contact borla to see if they can make this system for you though.
hello 👋
my name is Evgeniy. I want to ask you about the options for transmissions on a Chevrolet trailblazer. will you help me?
I have a couple videos up discussing Trailblazer transmission options and upgrades. The only realistic option is rebuilding your existing or buying a rebuilt 4L60E. I got mine from Detroit Axle.
Are you running the 5.3 or 4.2 engine in this?
4.2.
western state ? your TrailBlazer is commendably free of underside rust.
East coast. My Trailblazer has been in Florida all its life. I never want to deal with a northern car again. Rusty cars are no fun.
What vehicle did u get the exhaust system off from?
I mentioned it in the video. But if I remember correctly it was a 2004 Trailblazer.
How much you will charge to do my 06 trailblazer
Hey there. I apologize but I do not offer service work for others.
borla resonator make a better fuel mpg?
Not really to be honest. Didn’t change much.
Gotta cut off the res sounds like the factory exhaust
Nah. It definitely sounds better under acceleration than the factory exhaust. I need to make an update video on this with better sound clips.
what bola exhaust system is it? I'm look to upgrade my LTZ. exhaust.
This system is no longer available for purchase from Borla. I don’t remember the part number off the top of my head. If you look down in the comments other people have asked the same question and I have listed the model number in those comments. 👍🏼
Dont hear a difference time to chop off everything and run a straight pipe
I want this on my 05 trailblazer lt come do it for me
Hey there. Unfortunately, these Borla exhaust systems are discontinued. But if you’re ever lucky enough to come across one. Buy it and take it to your local muffler man. They would be able to install it in no time at all! 😃
Anybody know the part number on the exhaust?
Nvm got it Borla 140006
It’s been discontinued for a while but you can find them from time to time.
@@PASSIONBUILT Yea all the websites say that, hopefully I can come across one at a junkyard too😂
Man why tf you hittin that camara so fast
Lol! It's just what I do haha
Sounds better factory lol
Lol I promise it sounds so much better under acceleration. I need to make a follow up to this with a better mic. 😅
@@PASSIONBUILT lol! I rewatched it a few times and I’m like “damn factory slaps” lol 😝 I’ll take your word for it
sound the same to me no different I guess you trying to get that v8 sound
i can tell youve never drove a day in ur life
l couldn't hear any difference
I have a turbo Miata for that 😅
Still sounds like a sewing machine.
🤷🏻♂️😅
Insert sawzaw here*
Didn’t have one at the time 🤷🏻♂️
Sounds literally the same lol
Thanks for your feedback but the sound in person is different. The microphone I had back when I made this video wasn’t able to capture the true sound of the Borla system. I’ll be honest and say that the Borla isn’t super loud or anything. But it’s very nice and toned. Much better over the factory system.
Sorry bro but I cannot hear the difference.
Lol. Hardly made a difference in sound. 🤦♂️
In person it does sound significantly different. Sorry about the poor audio. I’m going to make another revised audio video with a better mic sooner or later.
I can't hear a difference
The mic I used to record this video didn’t capture the difference that well. There’s definitely a difference. The Borla isn’t loud. But has a very nice tone under acceleration.
I’m surprised a Chevy Blazer is still running. They came out of the factory as junk.
235k miles and still going strong 🙂👍🏼
I agree with ya, my makes all kinds of noises and burns oil and the transmission slips like crazy, I’m at 199k miles.
@@MichaelFletcher-to7mm My 2004 has 223k and runs great.
No difference
There is definitely a difference. But the mic that I had at the time of filming this did not do a good job of picking up the sound difference. The most noticeable difference is under acceleration. At idle the exhaust system is very quiet and tone. It’s a great system and sounds fantastic under acceleration. Thanks for the comment though 🙂👍🏼
all that for the same sound... smh
Definitely sounds much better. The mic I had back then didn’t do this exhaust justice. But definitely a different tone especially under load.
get a grip lmao
?
Waste of money big-time, should of spent a few more dollars on a Corsa Sport catback or at least thrown a couple of Dynomax Bullets on it.
Nah. I’m good on that. I have a turbo Miata and motorcycles for that. Don’t need to make my daily loud too. 🤷🏻♂️😬
Sounds like crap before and after, good effort though.
Lol Thanks for the feedback!
How much would this cost to install in California do you think? Like mal practice and scumbag mechanics aside. Base average cost?
I’m not sure. California has so many restrictions and regulations. Also, I don’t know what mechanic labor rates are over there so I couldn’t give you an estimate. Sorry man.
@@PASSIONBUILT no it's totally ok. Yea I mean for instance a inspection of my vehicle and to top of fluids cost me 1400 and took over 4 days for them to service it. Made me pick up my truck at 10 pm at night when they tried to keep it overnight to accumulate lot fees. Would of cost me 400 dollars extra. Padilla auto in Monterey California if you're wondering. BBB certified criminals.
That’s outrageous. Gotta move out of Cali! lol
@@PASSIONBUILT oh you're telling me hahahaha. I didn't even get to the good part yet. I got my truck back with a slipping transmission and misfires in 3 cylinders and my coolant was bone dry. I didn't even check til the next day which was stupid on my part. I had to feed my truck Lucas oil transmission fluid. For me that stuff worked like a charm.
