In my experience deleting the muffler and keeping the resonator is usually the better way to go. Resonator changes the tone and helps to remove unwanted noise like rasp.

what about 'backpressure and fuel o2 ratio' that some people keep mentioning. Do you need a tune after a muffler delete? will your car run worse and maybe eventually break down after a muffler delete without an ECU tune?

Everyone thinking about getting exhaust work should start by deleting the rear resonators or mufflers . Whatever you want to call them . That should always be step 1 . Get the cheap delete done and I’m willing to bet most people will be happy .
Start with the headers and work your way down
This is true, I’ve started with getting rid of the muffler. I want to make it louder and replace the resi with something in the future, but I love the difference in sound from that alone

I think cherry bomb & flowmaster super 40 is the only mufflers I’ve heard that made a v6 sound similar to a v8 but these vibrants don’t sound bad for what it is. Sounds better without resonator
That is a very clean crisp sound for a v6! I like it. It's almost an Italian car sound. Which goes well with the white paint!
Yeah normally cutting off the rear mufflers you can get that sound with the 3.6L V6 but you have some people who... straight pipe it and it sounds like.... nasty not good

@@bonodex4003 You can make a V8 sound good but you have the get the right set up. Making it "loud" by any means usually results in a crappy sounding car regardless of the engine type.

Resonator? The thumbnail is a glass packed or chambered muffler or combo. Usually a resonator is bigger. The more cylinders the shorter the resonator probably needs to be to go silent. That x pipe kicked it down a bit I bet.

The thumbnail is the old mopar resonators before they switched to the big bottle style
@@danielabraham5914 "suitcase style" the muffler that was on my Dakota was a huge torpedo barrel design; cross flow or whatever that type of muffler is called where it makes a bunch or U bends. The resonators were from regulations to make it quieter for highway use. Personally I'm all for loud exhaust but if you're buying a bottle of pain killers a month for it, its not really enjoyable.

@@lucid523 Because it is a Pentastar V6. There are some V6s that sound decent with the right setup. You can't say that with these.
If I'm not mistaken, those factory mid resonators are a straight thru design are they not? If so, save some bux and turf the rear mufflers. I'd bet it would sound identical to the vibrant. To each their own, but there are only a handful of 6ers that sound good louder.....the 3.6 meh
I have 2022 sxt challenger with just the rear resonators deleted. Sounds amazing even pops at aroun 6000 rpm

Those are mufflers not resonators completely different. mufflers reduce the exhaust volume, resonators tune the exhaust for a more pleasant sound. muffler reduces engine volume while a resonator simply changes engine sounds.
Oh hell no! Yeah this doesn't resonate with me at all. You can barely hear this car and sounds no different than a stock 1995 Ford Contour, and that's a damn shame 🤔 Owner should have just run open manifolds, which is hands down the best setup and provides optimal back pressure and increases temporary tag expiration to 54 months on these 2016 Chrysler 300S 3.6L's.
Nah, get rid of the manifolds. This car is a 6 cylinder, it should have 6 exhausts. Each cylinder gets it's own straight pipe to the back. 2 can be side pipes and 4 go to the back, or 2 on each side and 2 out the back or better yet 3 into 1 boom tubes out both sides. I think we can all agree that backpressure is bad and everything should be done to avoid it

Rear res delete and X pipe in the middle after the cats does good for these 3.6 V6 engines
Best muffler is muffler delete. Just CAT + RESONATOR + Piping to Tail Pipe Tip

Not bad. My mom's 2014 dodge charger has a rear muffler delete and it sounds just like this but a lil less raspy then that 300.
Mines straight piped except the resonator. I cut it off recently and then put it back on 4 days later because all it really did was make it way louder when it starts up and drone. Obviously produced diff sounds but unless you have a muffler i'd keep it on
Ngl i want the v8 sound but i have a v6 300 so ill just leave the exhaust alone until i can upgrade to the 5.7

Resonator deletes can be worth it but the caveat is that it can make your car sound raspier. Honestly I feel you should cut the factory resonators out, and replace it with a higher quality resonator like a cherrybomb or a Vibrant resonator and just have a quality muffler in the back for a nice sound
Agreed Jones makes those long resonators good quality
I deleted the mufflers first didn’t like the sound then did resonators perfect no rasp deep grown and chrome pipe tips g37 2011

Deleting the silencers on the 300/charger/challenger isn't worth it. The 3.6 does not sound good.

Those in the back are mufflers not resonators you can hear that they are hollow resonators are uasually packed and when he gets them off you can hear the sound difference
Those are Chryslers resonators. Look it up, my dodge charger has the same ones.

This car needs 6 exhausts. One for each cylinder. They need to exit on the sides and straight out the back. The backpressure turns into awareness waves in multiple directions to activate surrounding drivers situational awareness, increase proximity sensor sensitivity, scramble speed radar, and increase throttle input through the throttle by wire system so we can all get there faster

I'd give it a 7.5 on resonator deletes but for V6 modern car such as that Chrysler 300S which better than stock exhaust.

Honestly to avoid drone u need at least the rear res with out it kinda to loud but with it not loud enough u have to get the bullet style ones at the rear delete the middle one only then it’s perfect put u at around 103/104db from watching your videos I’ve been writing all the db down from each exhaust mod to see what’s perfect for me cause I’ve tired them all over the years

You want a v8 sound v6... get a 4.3 from 1998 and up... run high flow cat, 2.75" exhaust and a single chamber muffler with 4" 18" long exhaust tip. Sounded like dual exhaust on a 454 big block

I want to do something similar, my car is a Caddy XTS Vsport, so its a twin turbo V6 but its literally silent. I don't want it too loud because it would ruin the car but I would like to be able to hear it running at least. Its got one long muffler in the mid pipe and two massive suitcase resonators out back. Maybe putting a vibrant in the center is the first step. Too bad I live so far from these guys or I would bring it there.
Best thing to do is just cut off the rear mufflers if you're not sure about it being loud also look up videos first on it before you go all in you don't wanna sound like a ricer lmao

tbh the V8 with AFM is one of the least reliable motors on the planet. Only hemi I would get is a 1st gen 5.7 or a 6.1/6.4 since they don't have the ridiculous cylinder deactivation.
