I had a 60 horse mercury top cylinder sleeve actually slide down and lock up my engine a couple of years ago. Luckily I was just idling along. I wonder what caused that?
Couldn't you hone the block with 3 stone hone just to clean up any scratches and help level the surface? Also use some wet dry 1000 grit paper on the outside of the sleeve?
I am going to take this job on for the first time I have the same power head so these cylinder liners are dry liners from the factory? Installed dry and removed dry? Some guys say they need to be bored out to get liners out this video says different and it looks like it’s not necessary

Now you got a check to make sure it's not egg shaped

I’ve welded the inside of races to get them out of a hub. I wonder if that would work for the sleeve?
❤❤
what do you charge to do this i have a 2001 50hp tracker sleeve has moved on us and want to add two new ones
hi, just saw this. if you need outboard repair please text to 412-849-6190. thanks.
Did you have to bore the sleeves for new pistons?
Yes, sleeves are never provided finished on the ID. The press fit changes the diameter so you have to bore it.
Would have been good to have shown lining up makes if any on sleeves prior to pressing in
