- This is SFOO's trip to Alexander Springs in the Ocala National Forest. This trip includes our camp setup and happenings, as well as our underwater exploration of Alexander Springs and the day-use area.
Dove that spring in the early 90s. Beautiful
@@toddalford3155 it truly is beautiful. Kinda wish I was SCUBA certified to go into the deeper areas
I live here, Alexander is beautiful, Google all of the springs, worth it!
It certainly is so beautiful. Can't wait to explore the others, especially all the First Magnitude Springs.

I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU CONVERSAT DURING THE MOVIE WHILE ALSO NARRIATING IT AS WELL.. EXXXCELENT JOB
Thank you so much for watching, yes, I hate a water moccasin. There is all kinds of crazy wildlife down there in Florida. Thanks for the kind comments
Funny you say that. Nestle is NOT a drinking water company, they are a plastic bottle company. The Earth gives us the water for free.
Exactly! Kills me that these companies are making so much money off of this. But I try to just preserve and highlight. It's meant to be enjoyed and protected.
Right. And Nestle takes the free water and puts it in plastic bottles and then sells it to us.
Beautiful place, I have visited there long ago also camped at Hopkins Prairie it's close by..keep exploring beautiful wilderness 👍
Thank you! It is quite beautiful!
Can you bottle/drink more than a handful of water for yourself from the spring?
@@cindyhayslette306 I'm sure that you could. I don't think that there's a limit. This spring pumps millions of gallons of water through it daily
While camping are you guaranteed access into the spring and allowed first access? Or do you need to pay to get into the spring and wait with other people visiting?
Sorry I missed this! You are allowed first access. You are in the gates and will not be denied entry. No additional access fee
Enjoyed it Rich, I was looking for an antenna LOL kj4fgi
Don't worry sir! The POTA activation will be in the next video?
What is the address, do you need reservations to camp.?
I don't have the address but here is the site on Recreation.gov to make reservations.

I’m a GMRS guy.
Very short antenna. Lol
Haha short indeed. I use GMRS on the trail with folks who are not licensed in amateur radio. It tends to be the medium of choice. GMRS is used very heavily in Colorado also, and I had the pleasure of speaking to some really nice folks when I've gone out there. I'd call 17 foot short compared to my 134 foot long wire at the house lol
Did you see people fishing
Not from this area. It is popular for a lot of kayak fishermen. There is a kayak/ canoe drop in, and you can explore the rest of the area. We just went to the day use area mainly used for scuba and swimming.
Narrative voices sound professional. Entertaining video
Thank you! And thank you for watching!
I used to scuba dive into these Florida springs in my late teens. The caverns and caves are actually boring. Definitely not worth lugging twin 80s around.
The way to enjoy the springs is to do exactly what you did.
