I think it was a good experience for you to be able to drive in Europe and know what's the situation here; it's really different from US and you actually were pretty good driving on the left for the first time.
Great review and love seeing you drive in my home country (now live in the US). Do you now see why the US ❤️NASCAR vs The rest of the world ❤️ F1? We like corners! ;-)
There is another car in the Mini lineup you forgot to mention Matt and that is the Mini Countryman which is the next size up from the Clubman that you drove in this video and that car the Countryman is also available in both a gas and diesel engine option here in the UK but gasoline only in the USA and North America including Canada, and yes i agree with you i think Mini should give it's North American customers the choice of buying a diesel powered Mini alongside the gasoline powered Mini's.
Great to see you over this side of the pond! Looks like you were in the Peak District National Park north of Derby (I live "down South", about 50 miles West of Heathrow in a town called Newbury). It'd be great to have you at one of our Mustang meets next time! :)
Hi Paul. Sorry to be nosey but I'm Owen, from Newport in South Wales. I actually have a Mustang Ecoboost and I'm interested in the sound of your Mustang meets. I'm happy to chat on here or my email is owen4cars@yahoo.co.uk/ facebook - Owen T Vaughan Next time you have a mustang meet, I'll do my best to make it down as I've yet to do a long road trip in my "Stang. Thanks
I have the same S model and trim/options but for a regular Mini Cooper 4 door. Definitely had to go with the black headliner. I would've gone with the Clubman but the price difference was too much. I would've loved to have the extra space :[
For the last three years, diesel sales were declining and petrol and electrified fuel car sales are increasing certain car makers has made less diesel variants or none at all e.g. Volvo has ditched the diesels for the all-new S60 and will be available with petrol and petrol plug-in hybrid powertrains. The BMW TwinPower 2.0-litre diesel engine with 187hp (190PS) is one of the best diesel cars on sale it provide adequate performance, it is refined and delivers a good throttle sound. The Cooper S variant sits below the JCW model and the Cooper SD is the most powerful diesel in the range; the Cooper S is for those who want the go-kart but don't to go the extreme for the JCW car and putting less than 10k miles per year, whereas, the Cooper SD is for those who still want fun from the Cooper S and doing a lot of motorway driving.
How did he get a drivers license on the open road ? Did Mr. Regular visit a different location? I remember he could only drive on private property because of some detail. Insurance or License? Maybe Matt got a special press pass?
The license carries over if you're just visiting. I'm not sure how insurance would work on a regular rental car, but Mini arranged the insurance on this press car for me while I was there.
The european mpg test cycle is not "a little bit different", it's completely different and a joke. The exact same car that gets 28 MPG in the US can get 47 MPG in european testing. The european test numbers are impossible to achieve in reality, in that test an average of 5 hp (!) is used.
As a Brit living in the US I thought this video was awesome. Watching Matt panic on those narrow roads was funny.
Hey Matt, did you have flashbacks after driving this? Any one else remember his POS mini from a couple years back???
Oh, yes, we remember. Too bad it wasn't more reliable.

Thanks!
Thanks for listening to your viewers! You know i've been asking for a Mini review for the longest =)
It feels weird seeing Matt from the different prospective from the usual filming spot when he's driving
Doing big things Matt! Keep it up, the channel growth is amazing
A video from my home country!! Shwmae A Croeso to the UK Matt!!

I just want to say I love that BRITISH GREEN paint color.
Loved my Mini Cooper turbo, never had a reliability issue. Fun car!

Α very nice review and such a wonderful scenery, but your unstoppable chatter becomes exhausting.

The weather was great actually!

Looks like the Lake District.
Matt Maran Motoring Thank you!
@@MattMaranMotoring I drive past Stonehenge all the time - did you think it was worth the visit?
It was cool to see...but I thought the stones would be bigger haha.

I’m about to buy a 2017 Ford Mondeo (Fusion) but have just come across a 2017 Mini Clubman. What do you think is the better car to drive? And quality?

His reaction to him driving in the U.K! 😂😂 come to India, you'll shit your pants
Interesting little cars
Whats the fuel consumption on the highway 80 km/t?
Fantastic review!

It looks like an mid 2000's car. Dont burn your Nike's, burn your Mini!🔥🔥🔥✌
Damn dudes going over seas!!! Nice man!!!That must be a Bullitt version of the Mini lol
COOL Review: 2018 Mini Cooper SD Clubman
how do I get the matt maran hoodie love it
Not interested in the car, watched because of the location! Very cool
How was the UK?
We loved it!
Come to North Wales Matt! :)
lol the key fob looks like google chrome cast
Back road haven here.
If you gotta get one then lease the pecker so that you stay the cluck under warranty.
These are neat little cars, until you’re caught in a rain storm and water is rising. Oh well ......
You look terrified, Matt!
Your mini seems so long ago already..

keep in mind that UK MPG and US MPG isnt the same.
I was not using UK mpg, i converted metric numbers (l / 100km) into US mpg.
This dude looks like Kate McKinnon
Haha I get that fairly often. I can kinda see it lol.
The gearbox is NOT from ZF. It's from Aisin. Minis are FWD architecture.
2007-2013 use an Aisin, 2014+ use a different transmission, and 2018+ got a different one again.
It's funny to see an american complaining about the size of the european back roads! By the way, 55 UK mpg = 45.8 US mpg witch is still pretty good
Of all the cars in the UK to review lol
Views have to be broken
UA-cam didn’t notify people or have a thumbnail for a while. I dunno what’s going on with it today :/
Looks so dated. This was matt's nightmare.
