I grew up and live in the Hudson Valley and it's beautiful here and feels like home but it's expensive as hell. I've always told my boyfriend that the only other place I'd consider living is the Pacific Northwest, preferably Western Montana since that's where I was born and still have family. You really can't beat the views there.

I'm new to this whole homesteading lifestyle, but this house, both inside and outside is absolutely perfect. I'm a single dude that has lived in the city his entire life, (56 years), and there isn't a single thing that I would change in this house. Not. One. Thing. I will use this as the benchmark for my property search. Thank you for posting the before and after pictures of your work.

8:17... very first thing i did when we moved in, installed extinguishers throughout the house. each bathroom linen, entry closet got the big one and a kitchen extinguisher in the pantry.
Can you do a video on the root cellar? Never seen one you can access from inside the house before, very cool!

If it is actually gonna be for sale then I want to see the place they are upgrading to, I don't know how you can beat the view/shops/house. Maybe there will be a house build series like Essential Craftsman
they mentioned segmenting the property off and that they had a place in mind to build a more usable house and another section they wanted to use for classes. I believe some of the property around this house was discussed as a communal type of thing.

@@VODZ Their pretty attached to the area(friends family excetera)- Oregon is not much better politically. I was guessing somewhere close by although recent events may have pushed them to leave their comfort zone. I thought maybe just getting a new mortgage so they can buy the second place but a bunch of people said the house is listed. (Possibly with only part of the land and they can build a new house on the other half - Plus have enough leftover cash to be very comfortable?). I guess we'll find out. I'm personally going to Idaho from Texas in 3 months. I too, hate being hot and it's one of the most conservative States. Much less regulated for guns, homeschooling, homesteading and new construction.

VODZ while that mountain is beautiful and all, it is an active volcano that will eventually erupt and just ruin the surrounding areas due to glacier run off melting. Ton of geologists have made videos, the schools even have volcano drills.

He likes to work and almost everything is finished on this place. Time to start a new Homestead. Also this is the high market and home prices are going to be half what they are now next year after the economy collapses.

Some of us who go away for the week end or a week etc, have someone stay at our place, and a lock box allows the person coming to rake care of things to get a key since they only need the combination or key to open the lock box.
@@BethGrantDeRoos Yes but they have an alarm system that already has a keypad for that. & given the rush to get all the renos done, I'm thinking they are selling.

@@BethGrantDeRoos The lockbox in the video looks identical to the brand and model of lockbox used by realtors in conjunction with an app to gain access for showings. It does not look like any consumer passcode lockbox I have seen.

Well, from the comments about the lock box on the door, it would seem as though there are some changes coming to the Wranglerstar homestead. The house looks so beautiful! As a faithful watcher from waaayyyyy back, I am excited to see the next phase of your journey! I just hope you remain out west somewhere...I have my guesses, but time will tell. Sweetloaf is just as adorable as ever - she seems to be a very agreeable and calm child which at her age is a miracle! My son was the same way...think it may have to do with their upbringing!! I rarely comment, but I have always LOVED the Swedish-feel of your place. I've long been obsessed with those pine-cone lights in your dining room, even trying to find some for our house (which I was able to do). They don't go with our place and if we build another house, I'm going to make sure it is harmonious w/those lights. LOVE YOUR OLD PLACE.
