What an incredible video! Your farm is absolutely stunning, and the way you captured its charm truly highlights the beauty and hard work that goes into farm life. It’s clear that your family pours so much love and care into everything you do. Thank you for sharing such a heartwarming glimpse of your world - it’s inspiring and brings so much joy to everyone who watches! Keep spreading the magic!
Thank you so much for that tour!! My husband and I dream of doing exactly what you've done. We have been looking for a decent (livable) farm house with about 5 acres of land for a couple of years now. Most of the places we find either have some land and the house is actually condemned, or the house is decent shape, but there is only 1/4 to 1/2 acre of land with it. Keeping our fingers crossed that we find something soon as husband turned 57 last week. Our plan is to fix up the farm house and move my elderly parents in with us as cost of living for them is nearly unmanageable. It is far less expensive for them to live with us, and they would have a better quality of life living away from the city. Planted my first garden this year and it was VERY productive. Started canning and dehydrating this year for the first time as well. First time finding your channel and subscribed immediately. Also shared your channel with my husband and sons.
We wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect place for your family. Before we bought this place we were only looking for 4-5 acres and wound up with a 42 acre farm. It was definitely meant to be. I'm not sure if you've seen it in any of the videos yet, but we have 3 adult children and each of them will most likely be living on the farm. Our daughter has aleady built her house and her siblings are planning to do something similar in the future. It would be amazing if you could find a farmhouse with an in-law addition. Ours actually has that because the previous owners had an elderly parent living with them. It's great that you are already gardening and preserving food. You'll have a good base of knowledge when you do find your new home. Thanks for watching!
This is Laura... My husband and I share an account. Brenda and Don, we just found your channel and love what you have done with your farm. I love gardening, canning, freeze drying, antiques, and my husband raises cattle. We also have purchased several antiques and tools on online auctions in our area. I'll warn you, it's addicting if you look them up, lol. Can't wait to watch more videos. Thank you for sharing and God Bless! 😊
We're so glad you found us It sounds like we have a lot in common. 🙂 I'm definitely hoping to find more antique pieces to add to our farmhouse. I'm already addicted to canning, so what's one more addiction. 😄 Thanks for watching!
You two seem to have a lot of wisdom. There are many homesteading type channels that seem to take on too much at once and their chaos detracts from the beauty of their homesteads. Your thoughtful approach adds beauty. It is proper management of land and resources. It is a joy to watch, thank you for sharing
Thank you for the kind words. I think that from just being older we can't do too much at one time. (although we've pushed it pretty far in the last 4 years) We are in a unique position of being older and having more resources than many young people just starting out. We also don't have young children to care for. There have been times where we felt 'over our heads', but for the most part we are enjoying this amazing adventure. Thanks for watching!
I am new to your channel . I am loving your videos. so happy I found you. I about fell off my chair when I read Grandma speed. That would be my speed I would love to just take in that view. I love you guys. you have done a wonderful job on the farm very Beautiful
Beautiful, just beautiful! We lived in S.E. Pa (Chester county) for 13 years. To this day I believe it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever lived. Fall was my favorite time of year and I dearly miss it. Not much color in the Fla. panhandle.
@@JudyH-qq7bs Yes! We need a pond! I thought about it many times. I love to fish, in fact as I write this I'm at fishing camp in Canada with friends. Yes, we need a pond. Don.
Thank you for the tour. You have a beautiful farm/home. My husband and I have been looking and looking and continue to look for the perfect forever home. We currently live in Colorado and hoping to find something either here or in Wyoming. One day…I know that day will come one day. I’m living our dream currently through you. Once again, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words. We may have got started on this later in life, but we're loving it. Hopefully someday you will be able to live the life you dream of. 💚
My parents had a small variety of filbert tree in Chester County growing up. It only gave small nuts that were more bitter. But it was so cool to pick and eat them any way.
Glad you enjoy them. We're looking forward to all of the holiday activities and decorating our old farmhouse. There will most likely be some videos about that.
Actually Donny would probably LOVE to live on a lake. He enjoys boating and fishing. I guess the perfect life would be a farm on a lake??? Thanks for watching. I'm gonna check out your channel.

Wow what a great improvement you guys have done!! It looks like a different place now. Looking forward to extending your orchard. Wish we could grow nut trees. We have to have a 8 foot deer fence to keep them out of the garden. I have done an electic fence around the fruit trees.
Thanks!! We actually have a 3-D fence around our garden. The inside fence is 6 ft, but the outer fence is only 3 feet high. They could easily jump it, but apparently they don't have good depth perception so they hit the outside fence and can't tell if the distance between is 1 foot or 10 feet. They are afraid of getting caught in the middle. So far it's worked for 4 years. Fingers crossed that it keeps working.
Great vid, and a really nice farm, lots of hard work for sure and it never stops. We live in n.e.texas on a farm so we know. deer can rub out trees in one season, and wild hogs can chew up the roots, not sure if you all have the hogs like we do, if so only one way of fixing it is traps. Anyway, just came across your vid, and wanted to say something..God bless
No, we do not have the wild hogs here, yet. I heard they are very destructive. Deer hunting is becoming more difficult as homes are being built on a neighboring farm that sold. I've been to Dallas a few times...nice big farms and ranches outside of the urban areas. Thanks for watching. Oh....love the BBQ in TX!!
You can tell a lot about people by how they treat their animals. Well done! What is the “tunnel “ used for? This is not just a farm it is a commercial compound. You both should be proud what you have accomplished in a short time.
Thanks....we do try to give our animals a good life. The chickens are definitely 'pampered'. We use the high tunnel for warm season crops. It's great for tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. It allows us to control the amount of water the plants get, which can prevent tomatoes from cracking. We can also get crops in the ground earlier than in the main garden as well as grow some crops over the winter, ie. spinach, kale and lettuce. It's not heated, but if there is a late or early cold snap, we can heat it during the night to keep temps above freezing. We had to do that this last spring. Here's a video of how we kept things alive through that late freeze : ua-cam.com/video/NE58Ca_Iy54/v-deo.html
Very true...grandmas can do whatever they want...haha. With the corn coming down there isn't as much cover for the deer so it will be interesting to see if he/they come back.
Love the property! You guys did a fabulous job laying it all out. Will you build shade shelter for them?
Thanks! We're happy with how it all came together. PA is a beautiful place to live. We're in Mechanicsburg, near Harrisburg. As for the Paw Paws, yes, we'll provide shade for them. Right now I have 5 of them in my 'nursery' in the garden and they have been covered with shade cloth. We'll try to plant larger trees around them to also give them a little shade.
