When I was still young one of my Aunts died and I went out to speak with my dad. He was pretty sad and he told me something that always stuck with me. “When you are young life gives you things but if you are lucky enough to live long enough you reach an age where it starts to take things away from you.”

I choked up when you said, "I just need a place to sit." That stirred something deep in my heart.
I remember when you posted about your grandfather going into the kingdom. It's so cool that you had a man that spoke so much into you as you grew up.
Videos like this are what originally hooked me to your channel (into UA-cam, for that matter). You are a blessing, Cody. Thank you.

one your best, Cody. I love that you showed grandad at the end. I was always wondering if he lived to see Jack and Mrs. W., since he has been such a huge part of your life and by proxy, ours! It is like reading a great adventure book and finding out at the end that the hero still lives.
I hope to meet him in the Paradise. Peace.

I’m very glad you made this video.
I lost my Grandfather when I was 9. Really before I got to the age of doing projects, adventures, etc.
The memories I do have of him are so cherished.
I’m now turning 23. I’ve got his old F-150, guns, main toolbox, his 3/4 S&K socket set. All of which are not worth much to most people, but priceless to me. I’d sell my 2012 F-250 4x4, which is also my first vehicle before I’d let go of that 2000 F-150 4x2.
    Wonderful story of your Grandfather.
    God Bless Cody

Wow. I have an amazing relationship with my father, hunting, fieldsports he always took my to building sites when I was on school holidays, he also bought me a shotgun when I was 13 years old.and taught me the art of falconry until I was 16 when he bought me a harris hawk, I look up to him so much and think sometimes when im telling stories that I haven't got many memories without him in them. I just don't think it's possible to be as good as he is. A real hardworking father that spent all his spare hours teaching me all his skills and life lessons. The ending to this made me choke up emotional. I'm dreading the day I don't have a dad to call for advice. Much love from England.

I rarely comment but I watch and like every video you put out Cody. This one hit home.
My stories about my grandfather are similar to yours, he was a great man that taught me how to hunt, fish, split wood, trap, etc. A true woodsman, a Korean War veteran and a man I regarded as a friend as well as a role model; a relationship I needed desperately as I've never had a good relationship with my dad.
I lost him a year and a half ago, and not a day goes by that I don't miss him.
My wife and I bought the family homestead, my Grandma moved a few miles away to a smaller place and now it's our turn to carry on his legacy.
Thank you for sharing and as you said "I sure do miss that man!"

Thank you for sharing that. I grew up with my maternal grandfather spending a month or two every year with us. Him and my grandmother lived in Wisconsin and we live in Florida but my father built a mother-in-law addition on to our house so they had their own space: bedroom, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. He loved to fish and kept a boat at our house(I grew up on the Estero river) He and my mother loved the water. He taught me how to fish, how to navigate the river, all about tides and oyster shoals and how storms can change the high and low spots in a river. We used to watch Jeopardy every night together. No matter what we were doing even if it was watching TV he was always teaching me something. Thank you for showing the tears, it's I feel sometimes the only physical reminder of him I have left, those tears, when something reminds me so strongly of him and my grandmother. God bless from Florida the last bastion of freedom.

This story reminds me of my grandpa. He lost his leg in WWII and then went on to start a church with my grandma. They pastored for 43 years before he went to his reward in 2005, she passed in early 2015. I miss them terribly, but I so look forward to seeing them again on the other side of glory. And to walk those streets with my grandpa and his two legs. Thank you Cody for being so open and real. And for the memory

It never ceases to amaze me how much Grandfathers impact the lives of their Grandsons. My paternal Grandpa and I were very close, I'd venture to say that he was my best friend and we spent a lot of time together just doing anything and everything. It's truly a blessing to have a Grandfather who makes it a point to be present in your life as a young man and I too count myself fortunate to have been a benefactor of such kindness.

Cody, I don't think anyone could watch this video with dry eyes. My grandfather was and thankfully still is a huge part of my life. I know the day will come when he is not physically here with me anymore, but I truly believe that if we think and speak about our loved ones they are never truly gone. I know your grandad is proud that you still think of him and tell your stories of him and how good of a man he was. Keep him alive in this way until the day you get to see him again, God bless!

I shed a tear with you. I was in my early 20s when I lost my grandpa. I was right there with him growing up on his little farm but when I hit late teens and early twenties I didn't have time for him. I'm glad you got a little time with him to meet jack. I miss him and I'm crying with you. Tears of joy and sorrow. They were great men and they don't make them like that anymore. All we can do is try to be half the men they were.

I did not know my grandfathers. For you to have such love and memories and a heart that allows you to share this it sort of makes up for my loss. Thank you.

Lucky to have had such a prominent figure in your life. Not many kids have had that privilege. Some have had the privilege, but they piss it away and only realize what they missed when the time comes that they are the ones in control of their own life. My grandpa sounds just like yours, lucky to have him to this day in my early 20s

Lost my grandpa about a year ago...saw him drag his last breath of air and then smile upward as I’m sure my grandmother was welcoming him.
Can’t wait to see him and my son that died at birth. Thanks for the ending.

I was never close to my grandfathers, but I was close to my grandmothers. I still fantasize about working the heifers with one of my grandmothers. Her voice still rings out in my head and it pains me that she didn't survive her battle with cancer. She taught me so many things, how to drive a manual transmission (at 10), how to work hard, how to be fair and how to be compassionate. Of any of my elders, I wanted to be like her. She was my hero.

Thank you for sharing your stories of your grandfather Cody. I was fortunate enough to have a father that was a World War 2 veteran. He taught me the proper way to carry a firearm. Blessings to you and the family...this one got me.

I have shown this video to my family one by one. My dad and granddad passed when I was 10 yrs old. Growing up fast was just my life. God graced my family with a step granddad who has been wonderful to my kids. I also look forward to the day when I walk with my dad and Granddad in heaven. I have spent much of my life seeking those relationships i missed. Your chanel has been a big part of that.. Thanks so much for this video. My family prays for yours, because you are sharing the gospel in ways you dont even know. God bless you! One more thing.. you rub your nose just like your granddad in the quad video!

Thank you Cody. You'll see him again. Grandfathers are so very special. One of my best memories growing up is shooting pool with my grandfather.
