I absolutely love the harmonies between Mike Dirnt’s bass and Billie’s guitar. That is what makes the band for me. Mike almost plays lead because the guitar is so rhythmic. Amazing bassist

Tip #5 unironically helped me a lot! Picking with my hand in a fist makes my playing a lot more consistent and keeps the dynamics nice and high.

Mark Hoppus was one of my biggest inspirations when I first started playing bass. I caught some funny looks from people whenever I told them that, but he was, and still is a pretty unique bassist in the pop-punk world.
Plus he uses a J-bass instead of a P-bass
Blink-182 are iconic, and a lot of that is the bass, so there's that. I remember him saying he and Tom only really started to learn to play their instruments when Travis joined, but I guess if you do the right things, they don't need to be complex.

Wow! I've actually come a long way in my bass journey from the first time I saw this vid. Back then, I didn't know what to practice. After this vid I had a general idea of the stuff used heavily in punk music. Definitely helped me get less confused and broke down some songs I knew and showed me sides of them I didn't hear before.

Yeah, learn some more great punk riffs, like, for example, subhumans UK, Matt Freeman, rudimentary peni, silence PGH, amebix, stuff like that. Fun to play & sounds awesome. That's just my opinion. I'm not big on the pop "punk" thing.
I'm not really that great at playing by ear on bass... I'd love to have access to some accurate tabs from a few of the aforementioned bands.
