I'm not convinced that "Cold dirt" was a reference to drugs. It looks clumpy like dirt and the name itself is a reference to burying a dead body (freshly moved dirt will feel cold).
The inhaler may be something he stole from a victim (like Philly or the Drop-Leg Knife Sheath), but I think the gum may have been the original Chewed Pen (an incriminating piece of evidence containing DNA) before it got replaced.
This video about the old add-ons reminds me of those old offerings where you could play as a different killer for the trial. It was a secret offering like the Moris where it was hidden at the start. You also had the old versions of the brightness offerings. Which were replaced by more or less fog. I know people who still have some of those.
I think it may be more likely that the Inhaler and Gum addons may relate to Legion more so. They’re punk teenagers in HS, supposedly in the 80’s-90’s. I mean it makes sense to me at least
I like how MintSkull makes fun of the two twins main left in the entire game and he play as them in that section of the artifact. Another twin main confirmed before the unbreakable basekit?
I've heard people mispronounce "Uroboros" so much that honestly it was an absolute pleasure to hear YOU pronounce it flawlessly. For some reason a lot of people pronounce it as "OURorboros" or "YOURoboros"....
I don't think that Yumi will be Trickster's girlfriend because K-pop idols are not allowed to date or get married until the K-pop Idol was caught with his/her lover then kicked out but it depends on the company. I think Yumi is just Trickster's victim that was a Sasaeng Stalkers or Yun Jin Lee's friend or another college student that was just a fan of him. Maybe it was an error that it was mistakenly revealed (at least it expands the lore) during the ptb?
This is a wild guess but the inhaler could have been taras from scream 5 because the ending they had to go back for her inhaler but looking at the release dates ghost face was already in dbd before scream 5. Maybe the add-on was recent and was supposed to relate to the movie idk
It could also have been a very subtle reference to the opening kill in Scream, considering the whole punctured lung, can't scream for help thing. Asthma medicine opens the airway in your lungs, and you need a lungful of air to scream properly.
6:00 I would say the specific case here is Australias ESRB really dislike it when drugs are referenced in videogames, they sometimes even straight out threaten to ban games (like Fallout 3 wanted to give things like (Med-X etc.) real world drug names originally, but scraped it due to Australia, i assume BHVR wanted to avoid this.
Maybe before the flapping sounds of the cloak, he was originally going to have a heavy breathing sound while stalking and the inhaler add-on would have reduced the volume or range you can hear it
The Plagas one for Wesker is still an RE5 reference. While the name obviously directly links to the Las Plagas parasite from RE4, the sample in the addon is the one Ada steals for Wesker, wich is then used in the creation of the Uroboros. So the sample being there is more of a tie in to 5 than 4 but it's still i teresting that they went for a name change
Yo I just want to say thank you for using the twilight princess soundtrack as background music. It's so nostalgic, and that soundtrack is just the best ever. Thx Mate
And about the sound that Ghostface makes when being stunned I always interpreted it as if he had run out of air, like if Ghostface is trying to contain his breath to try to not make noise but when he's stunned, he can't do it anymore and he loses his breath
5:56 Nah the Bight is getting crazy with drugs That drug doesn't exist in the real world but it is still a drug Also clown breathes the yellow bottles gas that could be consider as some type of drug and deathslinger has a cigar
The Venomous Concoction Addon for Huntress used to be 90s exhaustion instead of 5s because these addons where made in a time where Survivors were recovering Exhaustion while running
i think the inhaler and chewed gum were gonna be for ghostface, it's likely the devs were gonna make ghostface a teenager like the legion and in the scream movies, but didn't for copyright issues or smth
Imagine if that if cold dirt was named “joeys powder” or “the stimulant” or “special sugar” that after each rush you would hear a subtle sniff and sigh
About the plagasvariant add on. So in resident evil 5 Ricardo Irving, the antagonist before Wesker, is injected with a Las plagas sample and transforms into a monster. The oroboros vial add on still references Ricardo Irving in its description. My theory is that dbd changed it to oroboros because either they didn't have the right to use las plagas, or the more likely one, they didn't want to confuse people with all the different viruses. But now we have an add on that seems to indicate Irving was injected with oroboros which is simply not what happened in the game
Your theory about ArtifactER is interesting, although one reason why it may not be correct is because of a little known fact which is that Élodie used to have the surname Beaumont until very late in development. When BHVR posted the PTB announcement on the forums and on Steam news, they called her Élodie Beaumont. Also, if you search "dead by daylight" "élodie beaumont" (with quotes) on Google, you can find some videos from the PTB in languages other than English where she still had that name. By the way, the fact that other languages are often a little behind with the translations by the time PTBs launch sometimes reveals interesting scrapped details that the devs suddenly changed before we got to play, such as the Blight who used to be able to cancel a Slam by pressing Ctrl.
Yes, I am aware of the Beaumont name and that is indeed a very strong counter argument for the theory! Yet if this is the case... what could the ER mean??
@@MintSkull An "ER" is the common name for an emergency room in hospitals. Although that makes even less sense, aside from maybe finding an artefact during the construction or renovation of an emergency room (which has happened in the past since many hospitals are centuries old).
I'd just guess the Twins stole the artifact from Élodie in the Fog. There isn't really a reason for there to be a stone tablet with info in their mother, besides, they likely don't know how to read. They probably saw it was important to Élodie and assumed it's something of value, so they kept it.
MintSkull: (about the ArtefactER addon) What do you think the ER is referring to? Me: Extended Release? Like for medication. Meds equals The Doctor! * patting myself on the back * MintSkull: Élodie Rakoto Me: 😐
I haven’t followed up for lore in a decent bit, but to the inhaler one, as someone who has asthma, the way ghostface seemingly sighs sounds a decent bit more like he’s inhaling and then exhaling which is what I’ve had to do for the entirety of my time as a kid when I’d have to use an inhaler But other than that, I got no idea unless it could an item for the nurse’s patient. But Ghostface I can see it a bit more especially with the timings of the leaks.
@@clayton4349 I actually wouldn’t have any idea. Isn’t the nurse from the 1970’s or 1980’s? I ask this time range cause of mental asylum’s and also anesthesia I believe is described in her lore in I believe the tomes. But a child patient of the nurse I could seeing potential like in a case of a kid needing it and no one knowing where it was and when the kid passes the Nurse finds it and holds onto it. If this were to happen it could also embellish Nurse’s drive to insanity even more which I think would be cool lore to have on in. But as I said with Ghostface, it could be him being forced to stop running and with a single strike after running around so much he’d need to pause to take it (the large quick inhale and then slow exhale, which again is how I’ve always had to do it when taking it) then he’d quickly recover. Only issue is after that point it does create a jolt but your body still feels more exhausted in energy. But my honest thought as to why they wouldn’t make this a confirmed thing for ghostface is maybe they just dunno how to write it in or feel it’s unnecessary for his lore. I lean more to they dunno how to write it cause I still remember them saying David was gay and idk why that matters for a game like DBD when romance isn’t even a thing that matters gameplay wise and has no real impact for in game lore. I know I’ll likely get crap for this but I don’t care, it doesn’t matter for gameplay, like it does for Life is Strange, and it doesn’t matter lore wise when David’s lore is that of a streetwise brawler or lore wise how he got into the entity’s realm. I dislike forcing romance and sexual orientations in games where it doesn’t matter or fit in for it, to me it’s an attempt to boost ratings and a game’s rep. Okay rant over
@@renulence7247 Ngl, I share that same issue with you at the end, and I’m bi for crying out loud. I could be wrong, but the Nurse gives off 1900s vibes, but I can definitely see 1970s to an extent. I guess the mention of WW1 or earlier made me think the Nurse is from 1900s.
@@clayton4349 i’ve had plenty of gay friends and many many bi friends, and I find em enjoyable until they make it their whole personality. But in 99% of the cases I’ve seen that to not be the case. But I wanted to use David as an example of “pushing things into games where it doesn’t do anything or matter” David being gay is fine but it just doesn’t do anything for the game imo other than boost ratings and if they had Ghostface with asthma, I could see it being a similar case. But yeah, I once made this point and got flamed by an entire discord group I actually liked and they always slammed “homophobic white men” for not liking David being gay when it’s not even him being gay being the problem. But as for nurse, I only say 1970’s cause I think it’s the 1960’s when Penicillin was made and after that medicines started to rapidly advanced. And if early days of DBD medical treatment ideas (nurse and doctor) were to be around the same time frame, then yeah, electro therapy was used in the 50’s and I think up to the 60s or maybe even early 70’s.
@@renulence7247 Ah, now it made sense. A confession to make, as unlikely as it’ll be, I’d love to see a survivor or even a killer who was a martyr in the real world since most martyrdom stories are actually gruesome (for example, Nathanael/Bartholomew was flayed alive before being crucified and/or decapitated, James thrown down the stairway before being stoned, etc.) Pyramid Head had some echoes of this idea, although he’s more about judgment than martyrdom. I main both Dredge and Pyramid Head for my taste of psychological horror.
I'd love the gum to be added and be something like 30% faster stalking on the obsession, or the inhaler being like a 2-3% faster while using clocked on ghostface
I think artifactER was 1. Supposed to end up being their mother's skull, killed for being a witch then defaced with actual witchcraft, enraging Charlotte while still having a connection to Eloide. 2. More probable, an add on version of Hoarder. Similar to Wraiths hound add on being bloodhound, Freddy's black box rework being blood warden, Bubbas Shop Lubricant being a Knockout, or Blights Summoning Stone being blood favor, this would have been the twins' "perk as addon" that was a trend at the time. Probably cut because it wouldn't really work as an augmentation on the power

if you didn't know, Ouroboros was actually created from Las Plagas so calling it variant might mean they intended to have two types of infection with plagas evolving into Ouroboros somehow, or possibly npcs like the zombies.
New item Camera - you can now take pictures of the killers, and secret areas. These will be an event and you gain Bp and Shards. There are three versions. Old Camara - can take only one photo and blinds killer for 3 seconds. Type 2000 Camera - can take 3 photos and blinds the killer for 6 seconds. Goldman Camara - can take an infinite amount of photos but doesn't stun the killer. You have to escape with the Camara to progress the challenge.
I have a darker theory. I think you're spot on about the gum but not so much the inhaler. Let's talk this a second. This Ghostface is an established serial killer, and lots of serial killers take trophies of their victims. He does this with photos, but what if he started out taking people's possessions, to keep them on him as a reminder of his kills and the thrill of nearly being linked to other crimes? If he dropped it, it's undeniable proof he killed someone else, someone with Asthma. Perhaps he even used this to mock his victim's struggles for breath as their asthma triggered from fear of him, a sadistic sort of means of keeping your victim from screaming. I always interpreted my boy's sharp inhalation from being stunned as a sort of "oh this is a RUSH, you're bold prey" gasp of enjoyment. A subdued sort of version of the Doctor's laugh upon him being stunned. Let's not forget he keeps evidence on him for the sick thrill of possibly being caught. Why wouldn't the fact his prey got one over on him for once excite him as well, knowing he will win but oh, this is a feisty target... and he likes his targets to struggle. Why else would you use a knife? You want to get up close if you kill with a knife... This is a Killer truer to real life killers than any of the others - just a man with a big knife and a sociopathic streak, superficially charming and harmless but under the surface, well... "Nobody knows what you're planning to do tonight." Although I will admit, if he has asthma, that would make sense why his kill method is the way it is.
I do love the Ghostface has asthma but the inhaler was probably a reference to I think it's scream 2022 where one of the killers steals a girls inhaler, of course correct me if I'm wrong
They should add a item called Detector. You can place it somewhere in the map and you can see the killers aura in a 4-8 meter radius around that spot. The killer would only be visible to you. It wouldnt be too op. (Plus the key allows you to see the killers aura for 32+ meters so why not a stationary spot on the map.) Place it in the middle of killer shack and you can see if the killer comes by often and camps.
@@peterparker0999 Yeah but as a item and not a perk. IDK if the killer would be able to break it. Since it would bw revealing such a small area or it would last for lets say 180 seconds.
also, it really couldn't be clown or nurse, because the clown has lung problems caused by chemical and drug exposure in his later years, and the nurse is from a time when inhalers like that didint exist yet. Just thought i would add my two cents in there, keep it up!
The inhaler actually fits Trickster very well, I know Trickster released A LOT later but think about it. He could've developed it after the no spin fire and that's why he sounds so out of breath as he runs and has reduced movement speed. I think it makes a lot of sense
I think Nemesis was originally going to be a mix of Tyrant and Nemesis, but eventually they decided on using his tentacle so a Tyrant model wouldn't work. Or the item could've referenced Nemesis killing a Tyrant
I know this might sound crazy and is extremely far fetched, but what if the Artifact was meant to be the introduction for personal survivor items? Lots of people have ideas for how BHVR could make each survivor unique besides their teachable perks, with one of those ideas being survivors having their own items only they can use similar to how each killer has their own power. As you said, the addon looks out of place for the Twins and doesn’t really fit the rest of their addons. However, it does fit Elodie. My guess is that maybe BHVR wanted to introduce unique items or addons for survivors, with this ArtifactER being one them, but the idea ended up being scrapped.
An Inhaler item would be cool in my mind, like 60/50/40 (? I don’t remember tbh) seconds of exhaust, puff the inhaler (which has like two uses left) to get 15%/20%/25% off (depending on rarity rare-ultra rare like keys) with each puff, but once the inhaler is out it “breaks” and cannot be reused. And like the add-ons would just be extending the puffs of the inhaler or like having the ability to give someone a puff of the inhaler. Tbh this would probably be broken when combined with vigil but still, cool concept?
im pretty sure the inhaler is a reference to a scene in one of the scream movies and they probably just scrapped it since the characters from the movie have nothing to do with the dbd ghost face
That'd be actually cool to see Ghostie or maybe some killer pull out an inhaler after downing a survivor after a chase and take a whiff and does a cool butterfly-knife kinda animation thing.
They didn't have the licensing to RE4 four maybe? But even that is weird considering in the lore you can find in RE5 they literally say that uroburos was an improved version of Las Plaugaus
The Uroboros virus is a stronger version of the Las Plagas, also a mr X skin for Nemesis wouldn't be possible cause mr X is an inferior tyrant compared to Nemesis and didn't have a tentacle to use, he only had super strength and was immortal.

Lmao I was forced at gunpoint to play The Twins!!!
I've heard people mispronounce "Uroboros" so much that honestly it was an absolute pleasure to hear YOU pronounce it flawlessly. For some reason a lot of people pronounce it as "OURorboros" or "YOURoboros"....
Lmao it’s funny considering that I am probably the dbd content creator that makes the most spelling mistakes!
@@MintSkull I just chalk it up to the fact that most of the dbd community may not be familiar with Resident Evil
It seems that the flashbang is the compromise between them adding the firecrackers and keeping it as an event item
Today I learned that elodi is looking at a stone on the appraisal perk icon
I unironically thought it was a half eaten taco or wrap or something
11:11 reminds me of the recent rift animatic where they find the entities temple (???)
either that or Kates animatic where she stumbles into that cave
Yo I just want to say thank you for using the twilight princess soundtrack as background music. It's so nostalgic, and that soundtrack is just the best ever. Thx Mate
Seeing a mintskull upload always makes my day. Thank you for creating these high quality videos for us
Idk you but the last two addons fits very well with legion, maybe Behavior was planning to rework some lf his addons or something
And about the sound that Ghostface makes when being stunned I always interpreted it as if he had run out of air, like if Ghostface is trying to contain his breath to try to not make noise but when he's stunned, he can't do it anymore and he loses his breath
I never thought about it this way and this makes sense to me!
5:56 Nah the Bight is getting crazy with drugs
That drug doesn't exist in the real world but it is still a drug
Also clown breathes the yellow bottles gas that could be consider as some type of drug and deathslinger has a cigar
Actually what you said is the exact reason why the world doesn't consider it a hard drug: It doesn't exist. Same with Bane from Batman
@@MintSkull I'm now just imagining Blight as a methhead and it's both hilarious and, tbh, kind of makes sense.
It never crossed my mind that the legion could be using cocaine as fuel for their power.Good theory!
The Venomous Concoction Addon for Huntress used to be 90s exhaustion instead of 5s because these addons where made in a time where Survivors were recovering Exhaustion while running
Enhaler was probably a legion add on for increased frenzy duration as they breath heavily when in frenzy
I love the creepy music over the completely uncreepy theory that ghostface has asthma 😂
i think the inhaler and chewed gum were gonna be for ghostface, it's likely the devs were gonna make ghostface a teenager like the legion and in the scream movies, but didn't for copyright issues or smth
Imagine if that if cold dirt was named “joeys powder” or “the stimulant” or “special sugar” that after each rush you would hear a subtle sniff and sigh
I like to think that ghostface would’ve had some loud breathing and the inhaler would make the breathing quieter, would be good for killers
The game did technically potray usage of drugs by putting a caffeine pill bottle as a yellow add-on for legion
That's true, but I guess those drugs are just like the styptic syringe, and not "recreational" like cold dirt could have been
About the plagasvariant add on.
Great video, love the twilight princess and skyward sword music in the background
Thanks!
another weird fact, Trapper's iridescent stone used to be named Diamond Stone before he got his first addon pass in like 2017-18 I think
i feel like the inhaler could be a medkit addon that effects exhaustion in someway
I'd just guess the Twins stole the artifact from Élodie in the Fog. There isn't really a reason for there to be a stone tablet with info in their mother, besides, they likely don't know how to read. They probably saw it was important to Élodie and assumed it's something of value, so they kept it.
14:32 wouldn't the clown also be a good fit for those addons?
Hears about an Inhaler add-on*
Thinks about Clown*
MintSkull: (about the ArtefactER addon) What do you think the ER is referring to?
Me: Extended Release? Like for medication. Meds equals The Doctor! * patting myself on the back *
MintSkull: Élodie Rakoto
Me: 😐
Love all your vids
Hey! Have you done any videos on who is Vigo? If not, could you make a video on it explaining? I love your content! :)
I haven’t followed up for lore in a decent bit, but to the inhaler one, as someone who has asthma, the way ghostface seemingly sighs sounds a decent bit more like he’s inhaling and then exhaling which is what I’ve had to do for the entirety of my time as a kid when I’d have to use an inhaler
But other than that, I got no idea unless it could an item for the nurse’s patient. But Ghostface I can see it a bit more especially with the timings of the leaks.
After a quick google, it appears that the inhaler in Nurse’s time is a lot different compared to our modern one, still plausible tho.
6:04 oh is this why hillbilly’s mom’s “pill addiction” was caffeine instead of something like barbiturates? i always wondered about that but it makes sense
9:40 Yo, make a tips and tricks video for Twins. Those plays were sick.
For the Artist baby shoes one, i reckon his name was changed because Jacob isn't really used commonly as a name over here in south america, whereas matias is (it wouldn't work as well in our languages i think)
At least i've never seen a Jacob but have seen Matiases.
Según Google el quivalente a Jacob es Jacobo AJAJJAJA imagínate que alguien se presente y te diga "hola me llamo Jacobo"

Funny thing about Wraith's Lightburn immunity addons is that now his Iridescent Lightburn immunity addon is completely basekit in the current game
if you didn't know, Ouroboros was actually created from Las Plagas so calling it variant might mean they intended to have two types of infection with plagas evolving into Ouroboros somehow, or possibly npcs like the zombies.
Scream 5 has a very plot relevant inhaler related to Ghostface
New item
Camera - you can now take pictures of the killers, and secret areas.
I really like the choice of the Skyward Sword OST, great choice of background music.
I thought I was crazy not seeing the inhaler for ghost face anymore. It'd make sense if they just made it his cool down attack animation.
I always love your thumbnails
I do love the Ghostface has asthma but the inhaler was probably a reference to I think it's scream 2022 where one of the killers steals a girls inhaler, of course correct me if I'm wrong
frank: hey joey want some coke
joey: sure
frank : wait where is our add-on?
i wanted to make a joke about the cold dirt
I think Susie from the Legion has Ashtma
Gum always feel like a very teenager thing to have
Me who also has asthma: Guess im Ghost Face now...
They should add a item called Detector. You can place it somewhere in the map and you can see the killers aura in a 4-8 meter radius around that spot. The killer would only be visible to you.
It wouldnt be too op.
(Plus the key allows you to see the killers aura for 32+ meters so why not a stationary spot on the map.)
Place it in the middle of killer shack and you can see if the killer comes by often and camps.
Wiretap just bit different
@@peterparker0999 Yeah but as a item and not a perk.
IDK if the killer would be able to break it. Since it would bw revealing such a small area or it would last for lets say 180 seconds.
Or place it in the middle of killer shack so you can loop them there forever with wall hacks
@@RedNayl You can do that without wallhacks XD Just git gud heh
@@RedNayl Plus it could work like hag traps. Like same radius so it wouldnt trigger outside the shack.
also, it really couldn't be clown or nurse, because the clown has lung problems caused by chemical and drug exposure in his later years, and the nurse is from a time when inhalers like that didint exist yet.
"cold dirt" is sometimes slang for snow where I live. Which is itself a slang term for coke. So yeah, the Legion definitely did fat lines
I'd like to think Ghostface keeps the inhaler in the mouth piece of his mask like the killers in the movies use voice changers.
I think Nemesis was originally going to be a mix of Tyrant and Nemesis, but eventually they decided on using his tentacle so a Tyrant model wouldn't work. Or the item could've referenced Nemesis killing a Tyrant
Nemesis is a tyrant
@@quartzskull8772 he's a modified tyrant, but I think you understand what I mean, Tyrants like "Mr. X"
Ghostface probably does have asthma Bc whenever he gets stunned he breathes/sighs really loud
I love your videos, thank you so much, very interesting stuff!
4:25 they removed the Immunity effect to make it permanent a few months later

Judging by the name I always thought it was her with makeup for some reason lmao. I never saw that it was a scope and a tablet
6:24 but that was during a time exhausted could be recovered while running
I didn't need to know that a deep, asthmatic sigh super turns on people, but thanks for the info.
WWASS”coughs”SUP “where’s my inhaler” ‘ghost face’ says
"Maybe they didn't want to portray drugs in dead by daylight" [Laughs in Blight]
That'd be actually cool to see Ghostie or maybe some killer pull out an inhaler after downing a survivor after a chase and take a whiff and does a cool butterfly-knife kinda animation thing.
Damn, I really like that Ghostface has asthma theory !
They didn't have the licensing to RE4 four maybe? But even that is weird considering in the lore you can find in RE5 they literally say that uroburos was an improved version of Las Plaugaus
I love these teories about dbd. Can't wait for another video!
The baby shoes name change is easy to explain, the artist is chilean and jacob isn't a name you see in the latin community
Could that mean that maybe Artist was not supossed to be from Chile?
@@MintSkull could be, or maybe the devs just realized the name wasn't really that fitting 🤷🏻♂️
Devs watching this video being proud that their "trash can" became a plot maker
the ghostface one actually makes perfect sense ngl
The Uroboros virus is a stronger version of the Las Plagas, also a mr X skin for Nemesis wouldn't be possible cause mr X is an inferior tyrant compared to Nemesis and didn't have a tentacle to use, he only had super strength and was immortal.
