When Tony has a problem he always feels sorry for himself, when people like Paulie or Christopher have a problem Tony tells them they should "just get over it"
He breaks more rules than the Catholoc Church this guy over here...
Or Furio- "Alright, but you gotta get over it." 5 seconds later he's bawling his eyes out over Pie O My
@@earthstock Can't I just be sad for a horse without some touchy-feely Freudian shit component to it?
He feels sorry for himself , But then he Gets Over It ... Like Gary Cooper , You Know the Strong Silent Types !
Selfish just like the mother
paulie and his mother watching tv together is a underrated scene. paulie actually being able to forgive is very rare. its pretty sweet honestly
She was a whoah!
Just reaffirms to us what a sensational series this honestly is *
At first I thought it was that but the sour look on his face sitting there with her seemed more like an obligation😐
@@N_Wah_ Good shout yes, we are not told that he's holding the olive branch out are we and his grid does look fierce..
He always has that look on that face.
Imagine your gf telling you she's pregnant and you start talking about your ex.
That would make her your new ex gf
Could you imagine your gf telling you she's pregnant and you start taking about your ex ?
It petered out
@@Brad-zv4svShe died in the woods
Christopher’s fate was officially sealed in this episode.
Good point but I think his fate was sealed when he asked tony for the Toblerone chocolate
Every junkie is like a setting sun as Neil Young wrote and the futility of addiction was once again shown beautifully in this epic series....
@@DaveSCameron well said
Because he messed with the vipers
@@petegriffin4376 What's that? The name of your Boy Scout troop?
let's give credit to those who deserve it... Michael Imperioli knows how to act like a heroin junkie LIKE NO ONE
So believable in this episode!. Imperioli is a great actor in everything he does. & he has a beautiful, masculine, sexy speaking voice. JMO.
He does alright! The scene where he's sitting in the alley with the stray dog and he nods out is really good.
I shot heroin for years, they did a pretty good job capturing the feeling of heroin, being out on a warm summer night, the beautiful lights, just falling asleep wherever and not caring
I noticed the nature of Chris and Kelly relationship, she was scared and apprehensive to tel him she was pregnant and straight up took the blame for letting him take the condom off and she would get an abortion and that moment he orders her to to stop talking before asking to get married , yeah he wanted a baby and asked her to get married but the initial vibe was ominous
yeah the implication there is clear. he’s just as violent and volatile to his partner, whoever she may be.
The Marian apparition scene is so great. It's shocking, comes out of nowhere, and honestly kinda scary. Very similar to how it would feel if it were to happen to someone.
What is it with Paulie and the supernatural? The psychic, Chris's dream, the Virgin Mary.
Yeh it was understated, creepy and very well done. 👏🏻
i love that the shot after is pulled back, showing how isolated and afraid that made paulie feel. it shows how you'd feel if you had the same experience
Kinda scary? I nearly shit my pants when I first saw that scene
It legitimately jumpscared me lol.
the scene where chris gets high from the start with corky to the lights going out is one of the greatest scenes in any television show ever
Ferris wheel lights spinning over and over...petting that stray dog...jet flies past the moon... They captured being high perfectly.
It's a beautifully tragic scene

Season 6 episode 9, "The Ride"
Edit: "The Ride" also contains one of my favorite scenes of the series, Paulie with his mom through the window
Couldn’t agree more, one of the best songs I’ve ever heard too and the cinematography…
I love the scene when Tony swings Janice's baby around after she is crying and wanting to go back on the broken ride ....one of the softer sides we get to see of Tony
Yep 👏🏻
Tony often displays his softest side in the later seasons
The Virgin Marie scene is so terrifying, which is ironic since you would not associate the presence of Mary with horror or scare. Its definitely because Paulie is such a sick and evil person, that something so holy would feel like a terror to meet him.
What scares me most, was when someone commented that, not only did the Virgin Mary appear in the reflection first as Paulie walks by, but when the camera turns on her, she actually moves her head slightly. I shat bricks upon re-viewing it. One of the scariest jumpscares I've ever experienced, and its not from a horror.
@Marlinchenlmaaaooo
Yeah creepy shit, it's the fear of divine judgement, though these men try and justify their acts of blood they can never truly justify the innermost darkness of their hearts.
And when faced with a beam so pure, I'd shit my pants too.
I really like how Adriana was still very present in season six despite her murder. She had such a big role and it's rare that her ghost (for lack of a better term) seems to really haunt up until the end. It's way better than if they just left her in season 5.
Totally agree and the way Carmela just can’t shake the feeling something bad happened to her. Subtle and haunting.
@@jamesstewart7736i mean it’s not that subtle but ok
@@cammongo3525 🤣🤣🤣 fair enough. It was well done though IMHO 😊
Paulie looks old enough to be Russ’s father.
I think paulie is meant to be like 60 and Russ 80 or something.
When I was a child, Paulie was already old. Now I'm an adult and Paulie is still old.
Tourist Q Remember the episode with Janice & Barbara sitting in Tony's backyard at the BBQ & seeing Paulie!
it's normal for some families; people say I look older than my father.
I had people mistaken me for my mother's husband at parties when I'm standing next to her.
Some people age well; some people dont.
Some of you need to chillax. It was just a joke.
The shot of the Virgin Mary next to the stripper pole. The sacred and the propane.
That's profane-lol!
Chris getting high in this episode is probably my favorite Sopranos scene ever. The music is fantastic. And something about the little smile on Chris's face after he throws up out the window.
4:55 - A cool little detail is that you can actually see the virgin Mary in the mirror's reflection as Paulie walks by. It took me a few re-watches before I caught it.
The Moltisanti's of Newark
Camera even lingers for just a second at the reflection.
Henshin a go go baby
Brilliant. The viewer has to second take it much like Paulie. Watching again, it's an eerie moment.
Upon initial viewing I didn't notice she's floating.
I love how he told Corky he needed to go to Narc Anonymous and immediately gets high himself
It’s like the time I FaceTimed my friend to tell him not to do meth ever again, while simultaneously hitting the pipe myself.
I though the title came from Chris selling out Adriana, "the ride" with Silvio he tricked her into and how he was feeling guilty which caused him to relapse
Very observant. The sacred and the propane.
Multiple rides tbh, good catch
Nah
Great episode, I think the inclusion of the dog during the relapse was a nod to Colette, and Christopher's unresolved feelings about Adrianna.
Virgin Mary's apparition is one of the most underrated scenes, it's actually scary, why brother got jumpscared, and I did too even though I knew it was coming
4:37 imo tony doesn't "chastise Paulie for being reckless". He does is because paulie is one hell of a cheap bastard 🤣
Now that I’m watching this I’m realizing that this may be one of my favorite episodes of the series. I love the depressing drama side of The Sopranos and this episode zooms in on it 100%. The highs in this episode are satisfyingly high (like Christopher bonding with Tony again and getting his life together, Paulie back with his mother, etc.) but the lows are incredibly low (Chris getting high again, Paulie getting mad at his mother, the golden hat, etc). In fact that may also be what the title is referencing.
Adrianna is for sure the most sympathetic character in the show. And Paulies mom 😭
I didn't have sympathy for her at all. She spends all Chris's blood money and rats on him knowing it could get them killed
damn I kinda agree. Especially at first when she was informing the Feds really didn’t have much of anything on her. She coulda told em to eff off and fought their baby charges they’d wanna throw at her. Woulda earned respect and in turn prob woulda got the word put out that stuff in her club needs to be on the up and up. bc the Feds is watching. Instead she buddies up to them which she should’ve known was never gonna end well for her. The murder sealed her fate, but she was diggin her own grave long before that
I feel so bad for Adrianna... Yes, she was somewhat aware of how Chris earned his living, and she was excited when he was made. The girl never had a chance though, because she grew up around the mafia with her uncles being heavily involved in organized crime. She was brought up thinking that was normal.
She was a sweetheart, even if she was a tad materialistic. She really was naive and innocent in a way, because it's not like Christopher ever really gave details about his activities, and he should have better prepared her for what to do if the FBI comes asking questions. She was lonely and needed a friend, and that FBI agent took full advantage of her sweetness and nativity. Her death was the hardest to watch even if it didn't happen on screen.
She wasn't aware that she would have been fine if she lawyered up and they scared her into thinking she was facing serious time. She wasn't involved in that murder at her club, and she was given that club by Christopher, and back then drugs went hand in hand with the club scene.
Not to mention she was genuinely in love with and loyal to Christopher, who treated her like absolute shit the entire time. Beating her, cheating on her, not preparing her for anything police or FBI related.
It’s probably AJ. For as much as he usually sucked he wasn’t hurtful to anyone else and was absolutely doomed with a fucked upbringing.
The team responsible for naming the episodes is A+
I think the title is in reference to three items ... the ride Chris and Tony take against the Vipers, the festival ride, and Chris's drug ride.
And a call back to the ride Sil takes Ade on
@@stevebrizzle And the ride i gave your mother.
You foonok.
Paulie sees Mary mother of Jesus and that doesn’t make him rethink his life as a criminal. Very Paulie.
I wonder how and why he turned the way he is, since his mother is very sweet and religious, and he mentioned having a brother who is a doctor. Makes me wonder that he probably had a chance to live an honest life but he chose not to. His core was probably always rotten.
Paulie might have a personality disorder, like psychopathy. He also said his mother always stuck up for him, even when he got into trouble. She might be sweet and religious, but a lack of discipline or at the very least, a lack of making your son learn the consequences for his harmful behavior might have also made him who he was today.
I would diagnose Paulie and Christopher as narcissistic sociopaths
Paulie may be genuinely sociopathic. makazian said something that sort of hints at that
Just like me lol
He even has a brother who is a priest (just like Tony Sirico’s brother in real life)
Some of Imperioli's best work. Now I am hoping Kino doesn't sing the Christmas song again.
Ade is probably the only character on the show who I liked and felt bad for. She wasn't perfect but she wasn't a bad person like Chris, Tony, and all those guys. She was an innocent girl who got caught up with the wrong group of people. She was loving and supportive of Christopher, she was the only person who had his best interest at heart. Ade as well as Artie and Charmaine are the only characters who I genuinely liked, and not the "love to hate them" kind like Tony and the rest.
She had a great ass too.
Ok but you gotta get over it
@Phil Phil you know the wine makes you emotional
@@kevincarter2020 underrated 😂😂
@Phil 🥖🥖
the whole scene of christopher at the festival is fucking wonderful, the shot of him sitting down with the ball lights behind him is one of the most beautiful shots i’ve ever seen
After all these years I still remember this episode as being very hard to digest. Super dark.
One of the better season 6A episodes imo.
Edit: oh, you pretty much said the exact same thing at the end of the video.
I might be wrong but during the family dinner scene, Tony says that the wine have lost his taste a little bit and it could also refers to his relationship with Christopher which has lost his "magic" due to the wine and their drunkenness that night.
Great episode anyways.
Adrianna really liked the character and was to good for Christopher. Loved the end of this episode Paulie and his mother making up
Very great but sad scene with Chrissie relapsing and the dog and the music, very well done.
I grew up Catholic so that life-like image of the Virgin appearing out of the darkness on the club stage looking straight at you always sends shivers up my spine. Every time. Great imagery that.
Thank you kino for review this great episode today, in my 28th birthday. Send u hugs from argentina🇦🇷
Bobby looked like King Kong in a leather jacket, stomping through the crowd looking for Paulie. Great editing.
Honestly i feared for bobby at that moment.
Not because Paulie would hurt him or anything. But a big fat guy nearly running through a crowd? His blood pressure had to have been off the charts. Its a wonder he didn't just croak out in the crowd. Have a stroke or some shit
@@michaelross1452 if it was Tony, he'd have a panic attack. A heart attack and a panic attack share most of the same symptoms. But people choose to view one as normal and the other as a joke.
The scene with chris in the park was so amazing god Michael was such a great actor
Underrated episode i like that we get to see the last tender moments between tony and chrissy. Great flashback scene as well. Most underrated along with watching too much television
True, both those are amazing who should be talked about more
Best line from Cork. " the leather"
Kelly's actress would later play the mom of the main kid on Stranger Things
Her milf-factor in Stranger Things is off the charts.

@@grapeapeductape2489 I don't want that word mentioned in here again!
I believe this is the same festival that was being celebrated in Godfather II, during the flashback scene where Don Fanucci is strolling through a street fair as a young Vito Corleone stalks him from the rooftops.
That occurred to me also.
The Godfather 2 was the Feast of San Gennaro on Mulberry St. in NYC. The Sopranos was in Newark NJ & it was for St. Elzear.
@@samanthab1923 Ah, thanks for the clarification.
Definitely one of my favorite episodes all time fav scene is Christopher on smack with The dolphins playing
Like Livia Soprano, Animal Blundetto and uncle junior before him. The deterioration of Christopher Moltisanti begins.
“We’re with Vipers!l”
The girl scout troop?
How's the incision lieutenant?!
It's funny how in the scene when Christopher gets high he plays with that dog and feeds him, it's like trying to make up for that time he killed Adriana's dog
So is it true that Moltisanti means Many Saints in Italian?
I had forgotten about the stoned and fairground sequence in this episode and you did it pure justice once again young man, thanks again 🙏😊
@DonnyBlips Ah right thanks so much, that's great to hear and I'm sure it was chosen on purpose by Mr Chase for a future project such as this 😊, He's so remarkable I wouldn't put such delightful details past him either, thanks for the reply here 😉👍
But what's that got to do with cold medicine?
@@World0fWowcraft You'll have to expand on this one my friend?
Love the videos Kino, had to comment and say that Virgin Mary scene has scarred me more than horror movie scenes, it was really scary imo
Are you planning on continuing this style of video with another series after The Sopranos? I would love to see you break down episodes of The Wire. Keep up the great work!
I just finished the wire, it's great but is over hyped. It isn't really worth analyzing since it's pretty cut and dry with its message and characters.
Pure Kino is gonna move to another tv show and his heart is gonna give out, metaphorically
@@NeverSaySandwich1 Respectfully, the Wire isn’t even remotely cut and dry, there is tons to analyze, even more so than the Sopranos you can say. The characters are extremely complex, the “villain” of the show isn’t even a person, it’s the city of Baltimore and it explores different aspects of the system. You need to watch it a couple times and watch closely for little clues and nuances, but the Wire is number 1, Sopranos a close 2nd.
@@Ck-gx1oi Barely anyone in the wire has a story arc, just a handful of examples. The lesson of "you can't change the system so don't try to change it" is hammered in so much. Plus there isn't interesting stuff like the Sopranos dream sequences or quirky moments. There isn't a main character in the Wire to really follow the whole time and see them change as a whole.
The Wire would be a great follow-up
I never knew, but Kino is German for theater. Very allegorical.
Only reason i know it means theater is cuz of cod zombies! Kino der toten which is theatre of the dead lol
In Polish too
It's kinda propane though.

I'm not making fun of u for hating Christopher 4 how he treated Adrianna. When I saw how easy he seemed to just replace her it pissed me off even more. I wasn't really rooting 4 Chrissy at this point.
Fun Fact: Kelly is Mrs Wheeler in Stranger Things (Mike and Nancy's mom). She also plays a hilarious role in the movie Beer League. She plays Artie Lang's hooo-wuhhh girlfriend.
She also played the girlfriend of the main character in the movie, “Gladiator” About an underground boxing club.
@@geraldmantanona6116 lol, bro. I was gonna mention that but I have never met anyone who has seen it. That is one of my all time favorite boxing movies. Black Death was a Baaaaad man.

Hands down my favorite episode
I look forward to these everyday. Thanks.
Paulie didn’t want to spring for the carnival’s A-fleet, so the carnie guy sent his great value brand fleet instead.
Paulie was most likely warned that this other equipment wasn’t as new or well maintained and that safety could be an issue.
I vividly picture Paulie saying “F@CK IT!” and the carnival guy shrugging and saying “OK”
You think when Johnny Boy ran the festival he scrimped on safety?
NEVER!
He was a saint.
The Great Value brand fleet WAS the A-fleet back in Johnny Boy’s day.
Traveling carnies are good, dependable and drug free for the most part....
*Sarcasm
Kino that was an excellent and thorough review!
Nice videos man but the singing you do at the end I'm afraid doesn't help lol
Pure cringe
That riff when the Virgin Mary shows up cracked me up
Scared the shit out of me
Christopher was such a scumbag, but I still felt for him when(spoiler warning here just in case)....
Tony snuffed him out(which one of my local news stations spoiled back when the episode originally aired with literally "Spoiler, spoiler, Tony kills Christopher!"). He treated Adriana like garbage many times, beating her, dragging her out of his apartment like a goddamn dog who crapped on the carpet, cheating on her numerous times. He was an absolute piece of crap, but Michael Imperioli played him so damn well.
Great episode, I just finished rewatching season 2. Thanks!
Season 2 was my favorite because of Richie.
Love how at 4:55 you can see Mary reflected in the mirrors before Paulie sees her at all!
I wish you mentioned that ending scene with Tony and Nica I thought it was quite beautiful how Tony was able to calm her down showing that side of him where he’s nice to animals and children
3:58 "and several people *including Janice* are hurt" *Everyone liked that.*
What is the music on the background playing when they walk out of the church with the statue? Got to know it
I really love your vid's . truly entertaining
Could you imagine what would've happened if Tony ran into Chris at the feast
Weekends are hard when i have to go sleep without watching your new video about sopranos episodes. Its like tradition you know.
I think that in the very last episode of the sopranos right before the end you hear no one messes with the vipers then the cut to black
Let me go get the papers “ the papers”
Rewatching the series in 2023. One of the best episodes. The guy who plays corky, who we have seen a couple of times now in the series, that's just a perfect piece of casting and make up.
Not mentioned in clip but, brilliant usage of Fred Neil’s ‘The Dolphins’ 🐬 🐬 during Christopher’s drug-induced Fair-Dream/Nightmare.
Hey, there you go...now you know who killed Tony. It was the Vipers! 🐍
“Paulie refuses to pay”, I swear, that could be the name of his biography. I don’t think the guy has every paid for anything in his life. The dude is a glorified bottom feeder.
Are you gonna review/summarize any other shows after The Sopranos?
Where’s the new trailer breakdown?!?
Love your videos
UP IN DA CLUB!
The part of the TV scene I like best is Paulie's mom knows something is wrong with her "boy." She doesn't ask him questions, she just lets her presence take care of him. Reminds me of a time i had some heavy @#$# going on. I stopped at my mother's, came in sat down. She asked if I wanted something to drink, looked at me over her glasses, and went back to watching TV and reading. Moms know.
Dudes “O” face when he mainlines the dope is grotesque.
Kelly was a huge upgrade from adriana in many ways
Good video Kino
We’re with the Vipers… oh yea what’s that your Girl Scout troop? 😂
I do appreciate how you mentioned Adriana and her treatment. Your opinion is nice to hear. And maybe a sign of the times. If this whole thing happened say 15 years ago the popular opinion would be different. She should’ve known to leave. Or she should’ve known better, snitching. Whatever. Believe me you’re not the only man that hates Christopher because of his abuse of that poor girl. Speaking of women being treated terribly on here, these episodes where Pauley treated his poor mother so terribly just enrages me. I can’t even watch that old woman get so upset. I’m pretty sure I’ve fast forwarded all those scenes during rewatch. And this was a great episode. The scene where Christopher uses again at the fair is funny too.
Lovin the 'Days Of Sopranotember' song!😉
Damn, the Patreons get longer every video haha. Good stuff. ;)
The dolphin song was the perfect choice. Chase has fantastic taste in music.
The Virgin Mary scared the shit out of me the first time I saw it. I still find it really eerie. The first time I saw it I was relaxing in bed and almost falling asleep, and then that loud, sudden blasting stripper music along with a Virgin Mary floating above the stage. . JESUS Christ!
The Tony and Chris relationship got really awkward. Even the dinner felt awkward. After Ade, it was just not there anymore.
“Omg I’m so glad I’ve gotten clean. I feel so much better and it’s really important you clean up too”
“You wanna snort a little H?”
“Ok”
They put Paulie in charge of the parade because they knew if they put Pasty in charge of it, it wouldn't be cinematic.
"We-we-we're wid da Wipers!!"
"Don't Ya Know, We're TheVipers?!?"
😜🤣🤣😜
I know I've been working hard I've been missing your vids
Sorry man, but the Xmas song at the end has to go.
It belongs on those cringe compilation videos.
Agreed. I always stop the video at that point.
Woah. Hey. King of rock. You're out of your depth.
Nice video to wake up to. Been following them all, love your insight on things.
I've got 8.5 years clean, no wine, no beer...I can relate with Christopher for sure. I'd love to have a nice, tall cool Miller high life or a nice glass of pinot or red but I abstain. It's easier the older I get. But still I know where that glass of wine could lead....right back to the opiates.
Like for the Christmas Carol. You really "made" that one well. I'm here all week - try the fish.
I also hated how Christopher treated Adriana such as hitting and pushing her. Adriana might've been an informant, but she was beautiful.
The wine robbery where they pretend to be cops was pure gold.
She been running her own gossip collum for a year now?!
