Just like Tony, there is something lovable about Paulie and his quirky personality but Tony’s life would have been so much easier with Paulie gone. In my opinion, he was more of a liability than Christopher was.

Eventually Bobby is killed but Paulie, who did more damage to the family than anyone besides the ones who turned informants, survives. Life is unfair even in fiction.
That's actually why Bobby died he was way to good of a soldier and got promoted while Paulie stayed on the side being high up but not important enough to be targeted by New York hell some people may even argue he worked with new York at the end

Paulie's attitude creates every single problem he experiences in the show. His lack of self-awareness is great comedy.
It's adorable how Bobby turned into a beast when it came to his wife/family. Same when he fought Tony.

Great character arc, went from a fat bumbling low level mob guy to a well respected, strong under Boss

Paulie's character was well designed. He was a man who had no family except an old woman. He had no wife or children who'd get hurt by his behaviour. So he didn't quite know what bullying really did to other people.
You could really hate him for taunting fat people, or how he took Chrissy to the limits.
He really became despicable over time.
Taunting fat people is like, the least bad thing any of these characters in the show did

I loved watching Bobby’s rise from juniors caretaker to underboss.
Kind of a good documentation of Bobby surpassing everyone in the family power structure. He started out as a grunt who nobody respected while paulie was number three in the family, by the end of the show Bobby was underboss and tony ruled in his favor against paulie. Crazy how valuable loyalty is

Steve schirripa was absolutely amazing in this series. His on screen presence improved with each passing season. In the end his character dominated the screen . One of the most underrated actors on the series.
