The Vito monologue was the most accurate representation of how time passes when you’re working a manual labor job you don’t like lol
Shows hes not a working man nor ever was
@@sureucan9366 true. Seeing them sitting around on the jobsite always pissed me off lol
In vitos case it's also the countdown to food.
God, on the best days you can use that time to talk to yourself about all the shit you’re gonna do once you get home or on the weekend, before being too tired and not doing any of it
My favorite part was how he is telling himself not to check his watch so that he can really enjoy the reveal when he is sure it almost lunch time. I worked construction for about 15 years and that is such a real psychology.
Wait Phil did 20 years? Are you 100% sure about this they’ve never even mentioned it
It wasn't that bad. He compromised.
I don't think this is canon.
What?? When did that happen? Phil went to prison? 20 years? News to me..
@@danielshnaider3325 Yep, he had grilled cheese off the radiator. I don't think they want to know about his other compromises.
And he did for what ? To protect the likes of Rusty Millo ? Doc Santoro ,
Vito's story is really amusing to me
He escapes the mob, starts a new life, finds gay love and then throws it all away and walks to his death because he can't handle real work.
He died on his feet than lived on his knees... so to speak
The Lazy Cornholio.
@@ennuiblue4295 he literally died on his knees he chose a worse fate just cuz he couldnt handle real work honestly he threw everthing away but the mob wouldve found him anyway so basically he would be buying more time but gave up what little time he had
They never said if he even had those sandwiches Johnny Cakes made him either
Waddled to his death, more like
I actually like Vitos inner monolog here. It's a very accurate portrayal of how time seems to slow down when you're doing something you hate
i was literally on my way to comment this right now
Especially an alcoholic not having a drink
I bet Vito wasn't like that when jonny cakes was making sweet sweet love to Vitos fart box with mushrooms... Wonder what Jims junk smelt like after being in there?
I just made the same comment then saw urs. U may have said it better but its so true that this is what goes on in ur had when u hate ur job or whatever task it is u r doing.
@@theculturedthug6609 why b gross? What is the point? I dont get it.
I love Vito's inner monologue in that scene. I find it very realistic. Having had to work at too many soul-crushing jobs in my life, there were definitely times where I did the exact same thing with holding off on checking the time. Using it as a reward. The days where time moved so slow. Counting down the hours. Using breaks, lunch, and the halfway point as milestones. It really is hard to do a job that you truly hate.
Whenever it's an hour and 40 minutes left of my shift I started counting down by the minute 🥴
That moment was for the working class, which is most of us. It's showing how the tedious 9 to 5 life which we do everyday would break a mob guy like Vito.
@@lachlanmclennan2188 usually after my second break, the day tends to pick up speed because I know it's close to over.
I'm doing that count down shit now bro! I have 1 week off starting tomorrow so this will be a looooong shift for sure!
Lmao yo that sucks
“What about the cake for Ginny?”
“What? You mean the thing behind the pool?”
“No an ACTUAL fucking cake”
Not so far from the truth though as that cake might have been the size of AN ACTUAL FUCKING HOUSE 🤣
My favorite fucking line in the whole show
JS = Johhny Sack
A = Anthony. JS's brother-in-law aka
The Lord of the Lense
JS: Did you do the thing
I asked you ?
A: the coffee with the
chicory?
JS: (looking frustrated.
confused)
What coffee with
the chicory ???
A: (Competely
confused . . . )
Our fat friend with
the initials A .....S
🤣🤣😂
Not sure the pool would have been big enough to hide Ginny's cake behind it! All due respect
No. Vito has that internal speech is because EVERYONE does it at work. Its showing him trying the normal life and he hates it.
Vito's situation, We've all been there. I mean the counting down the hours at work, not the gay thing lol
1:12 - That's about the most "Silvio" face you'll ever see in the show.
4:50 The internal dialogue is great. That's exactly what everyone with a crappy blue collar job thinks to themselves throughout the day. It's like one of the most relatable moments of the series.
Some times in the military, too.
Wait, Phil did time? Why hasn't he ever brought that up?
An obscure tidbit. I'm glad he rarely mentioned how he compromised 🤷🏾♀️
He only did a couple of months, not worth mentioning
Really??? How long was he down for?
Immigration officer: Let's see, was it Leonardo or Retardo?
OK let's compromise, Leotardo it is.
He didn't want Paulie telling him about only getting points for staying out of the can according to his book
I always liked that narration from Vito about not wanting to check the time while at work. Very relatable because I’ve done this countless times. “Okay I’m gonna check the clock in 20 minutes and it should be close to noon…” and then I look and it’s 9:45 and you’re like ahhhh sonofagun!
Had to train myself years ago to stop that!
The only question I have about this episode. How was Vito able to get out of the bed and pack without Johnny Cakes knowing?
It’s because he’s a silent assassin,
He gave him that 💣 sex that put him to sleep
If he was able to kill Jackie Jr without him noticing the floor was shaking, I think he can pretty much do that
he probably had a bug out bag packed already. As far as how Johnny cakes didn't get flipped out of the bed, that's a mystery up there with what happened to the Russian, and who the girl cousins were.
Corey Stoll (Uncle Junior in the Many Saints) is in this episode !
This episode does a good job of further demonstrating Tony’s contradictory and treacherous nature. He resents Janice and Bobby but on a whim decides to do something nice for them to make himself feel better. In the process he screws over his longtime friend and business partner of 20+ years in the last business transaction they ever make.
Need to sick up for Vito's internal monologue as he's counting down the time to lunch. Not only is it stylistically well done and entertaining; but necessary to give the viewer insight into his depressed state of mind and internal struggle. Without his sequence, the viewer would be left a bit confused as to why Vito just up and left JohnnyCakes so suddenly, and risked his life to go back to Jersey. On the surface level, everything might've looked perfect with Vito's new gay lifestyle - like a charming fairytale.
Vito's inner monologue is the most relatable thing in this whole show.
The scene when Vito keeps looking at his watch is actually really good and based in reality. Any true worker who has worked the field knows this. When u keep looking at the time waiting for the day to pass by or waiting for lunch it seems to never come and the day last longer, when u dont look at the time and just concentrate on your work the day will pass by quickly and be less stressful, I practice this and it does work. Just a little inside knowledge on the matter for ya
He avoids looking at his watch.
I gotta start kicking upstairs to Pure Kino. He's a captain now and he's got his own crew and we all gotta pay our dues.
All the work he's doing, he singlehandedly decimated that crew of Borko and others, they are sidelined now and Pure Kino is the toughest gut up and down the UA-cam. We gotta show our respect and start kicking up to our new caporegime.
I agree in spirit but i gotta counsel.. Heheheh
Captain of the good ship lollipop
Man, I just want to give Ginny Sack a hug or a coffee cake after seeing her house sold to Janice...but then I remembered I thought she was on the Atkins.
It'll be like hugging a bean bag chair
😂
How do you know my weed smoking schedule so perfectly? I work nights so I don’t wake up till around 10 o’clock (Chicago time) in the morning I take a shower, eat, and then I smoke a nice blunt, get relaxed and watch UA-cam. Perfect timing Kino.
What kind of animals smokes marijuana during a pure kino video
Smoking weed is BAD!!!
Same here man
Thank you so much for pointing out that subtle point about Uncle Philly doing 20 years in the can. it's a blink and you miss it thing.
Vitos internal monologue was basically every day in public school. Extremely relatable.
I love the dread showing on Vito's face when he passes by Satriale's. He knows it's no longer a matter of "if," but of "when."
I like the joke on Phil's time in jail ! It's great to have a video everyday, thanks for what you doin'!
Vito's internal monologue is gold.....
Wait a second... Phil... in prison?? That's a trivia factoid right there. Phil should have mentioned it more so everybody would know. 20 fuckin years!
I think the narration with Vito was to show how he was trying to tell himself that this work day wouldnt last forever and give himself something to look forward to because at this point Vito detested any kind of labor. He had gotten used to no shows and no works at the job site. I mean ive had jobs where I would do the same thing and then I look at the clock and give up hope that the day was ever gonna end lol. Also I think the reason Vito didnt want the cops called is cause he was drunk lol.
The Internal Monologue resonates with anyone who has ever done a job they hated or knew they wouldn't last at. I've done some pretty ugly jobs in my life and I have had that same monologue dozens of times. Especially when you know it's gotta be Lunch Time and the Watch comes up 5 til 10 LOL
That lunch monologue was one of the funniest parts of the series; disagree with Kino on that point.
Phil served time in prison?
Please..... Phil doesn't want people to know he was in jail he is a private person, he doesn't talk about it too often. Grilled cheese off a radiator is nice though
Just another example of how Vito was a real come from behind kind of guy
Hahahah, it’s an obscure detail. I fuggin love this channel.
Tony’s longing look at the microwave as it beeps and he’s stuck comforting meadow is one of my favorite moments of the show.
vitos construction monologue is actually so accurate
That internal narration counting down the hours until lunch is something I think everyone has done their first day on a new job. It’s another greatly relatable piece of writing.
I found the scene where Vito loans money to the mobster in the supermarket very odd, considering he's lamb chopping it while living off his savings.
He needed the goodwill.
Bro… I stop what I’m doing to watch these every day. Good job!
It cracks me up Everytime tony says....."SO ITS MINE!!" like a three year old when venting to melfi about Janice trying to come back and get her share
Been here since ep1, theyre just gettin better and better
You don't ever admit the existence of this thing. EVER! He should've stood trial like a man.
2:16 I felt so bad for Genny
I know. Janice has no fucking tact.
Me too. Especially so soon after having that 95 pound mole removed.
Wait a minute, phil was in prison? Philly leotardo? I would never have thought it for a second. Some people you just don't know. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How enlightening, I had no idea Phil served 20 years.
Whoa whoa...Phil was in prison?? Well at least he didn't go about in pity for himself.
I don’t think Phil doing 20 years is an obscure detail, it’s mentioned all the time especially by Phil. Love your videos Kino.
Phil did 20 years?!?!? No way?!?! I wish they talked about it more.
Loving the “tember & the countdown
Edit: and of course Kino’s great summarizations/reviews
I think kino never watched this series . Phil NEVER MENTIONED doing 20 years in the can, EVER!!
The title of this episode has to have something to do with Frank Vincent’s cameo in Do The Right Thing. “I don’t know Moe n Joe black!”
2:30 Carmella's spec house situation would've gotten resolved but she is too lazy to monitor the amount of pulp in the Freakin' Orange Juice !!!!
Are you not gonna talk about how horrible tony was to take advantage of his friend John to give a house to none other than Janice? I hated Tony's character even more because of it. He not only betrayed his friend but was easily manipulated by Janice to help her when she really didn't deserve the house or anything from Tony.
Well.. You're officially caught up to Talking Sopranos... And with tomorrow's episode you'll be ahead of them... Will this cause a rift in Space Time? What's going to happen? 😱
Loving your channel... Love the Sopranos stuff... Excellent videos Sir😊👍
Not trying to be rude, but you would have to experience that sort of work life to know exactly what they were portraying because I guarantee every 9 to 5 worker has that inner monolog. They nailed it 100%, especially when he starts using the surrounding environment to give him some reference, like the sun is set in this location, or it will almost be lunch so the day is halfway over... It's like Chris Rock said, "When you have a career, there's not enough time in a day. When you have job, you have nothing but time."
Good god, that jump cut to the model train going into the tunnel right after Vito's sex scene. 10/10.
I had no idea Phil did time in the can. Do we know how many years he did?
I don't think they ever said, Phil's not one to complain
Moe n joe were my favorite characters.. I wish they did more with them.. Heheheh
Pretty sure Vito was also drinking when he hit that guys car.
i didn’t realize that phil had done 20 years! great observation kino, the sacred and the propane
Thats hilarious XD. "Phil did twenty years rather then do a deal... Im not sure if youre aware of the fact, its a pretty "OBSCURE" detail"
Its SO obscure I'm surprised even Kino caught that detail of Philly doing two dimes in prison.
Didn't his brother get killed? I remember he mentioned that a few times.
There is no way he would've gotten away with murdering that innocent man
There’s a ton of instances with this show. Paulie and the old woman, the guy who got his foot shot. As realistic as the show was, there were also these little things that would’ve provoked a lot more if in real life
@Little King Trashmouth yeah but this time there is madd evidence.
Right now, I'm trying not to look at the clock. It could be 11:05 by now, maybe even 11:30.
Vito's monologue is an example of why this show is great, something that might be considered out of place, random, not needed, but works perfectly bc of how well done it is
Kino you mentioned phil did 20 years in the can but you didn't mention the compromises he made that many people don't know about like eating grilled cheese of the radiator
There are men in the can better looking than Janice.
Nice video as always :)
Two small things I think is worth mentioning though.
- I think the exact inner monologue Vito had is something everyone who has ever worked a job (especially one they don't like) has had in their life. It makes him more recognizable and it would have worked as well if we didn't hear it in the context of a inner monologue.
- When Tony makes fun of Bobby he says that all that crap about honor and loyalty in the mob is just bs. It is something we all know and even something they mob guys themselves know, but it is a truth that should never be spoken out loudly. Bobby is a loyal soldier and he is not shown any respect or even a hint of retaliation when he is attacked in service of Tony. Immediately after Tony says this we can see how everyone in the room don't approve of his statement but won't say anything since he is the boss. This might have been one of the main incidents that made Carlo later flip. So once again we see Tony's personal problems spill over and negatively affect his business.
what problems that carlo got the got the constructions job which was the mob main source of money
I love Vito’s story, it’s a huge step out of a hardcore sopranos series. I like the monologue with time as well
When I heard you say , "10 little lord fuckpants" I almost fell out of my chair.
A tidbit that only real investigators know is that Phil actually did 20 years in the can.
Lol!!!!! Riiiiight....'obscure detail' 😉
RIP Jonny cakes amazing actor 🔥❤️
Damn, all this time i thought i knew everything about the sopranos, but your videos made me realise that i don't, like the fact that Phill did 20 years in the can, i never got that
"phil did serve 20 years in jail before the series, its an obscure detail"
the dude doesn't shut the fuck up about serving 20 years. EVERY TIME HE'S ON SCREEN.
20 YEARS
Ah, the Vito storyline that we didn’t know we needed. I love how he couldn’t even last out there two days working like a regular guy.
Imagine being killed for a fender bender not even caused by you but because the guy is a psychopath.
Oh yes I love that you pointed out the obscurity that Phil spent 20 years in prison
Vito is a real come from behind kind of guy...
I think they put the scene of the guy getting his mail just to show us that Vito deserves NO sympathy.
Vito shot the guy because he was chugging vodka from the bottle when he hit the guys car. he was not passing a breathalyzer.
I'm glad you caught that.
This episode, along with a few others, is just so shocking in showing how mafia members and their families can go from on top of the World to rock bottom in no time at all. Johnny had a huge house, beautiful car, and put on a fancy wedding for his daughter… and all of that was gone is seconds and his family is now broke.
not broke his wife gets 110k every year and they kept that condo which is worth 450k + more than a half millions paid by tony for his house
Was Vito rear-ending the parked car a double entendre? Also, the casting was great with Ginny Sac's brother. He looks just like her.
Nah. Vito was not that kind. He was the other kind.
I actually like the whole vito monologue i feel like people relate to that
Babe wake up, new Kino video
The "life" ended his life.....he just couldn't give it up.
i can't believe that tony dropped 600k to buy johnny's house for janice and bobby
Did Kino deliberately say he didn't like Vito's monologue to incite a UA-cam discussion? 🤔🤔🤔
Do you have any proof, for the theory, that Phil had done some time before the show? Because I don't like it when people make up sh*t for no reason, just to get a few extra views. What are these "obscure details" if I may ask?
Vito was also drinking heavily when he gets into the accident so he would be arrested
Hunter, heart of markness and placenta Juan are all getting their button
This was the episode that it clicked for me that melfi is an awful therapist
Everybody secretly hates Janice
3:56 HE DID 20 FUCKIN YEEASS!
Kinos song at the end all month been gettin me 😭😭😭
Couple uh three things about Phil Leotardo - he's never been in the can, not REALLY, he j*cked off in the radiator, and he never had the makings of a varsity grilled cheese maker.
I LOVE YOUR SOPRANOLOGS! It lets me reexperience the whole series in a whole new perspective, and I enjoy your humorous remarks (even when they are obscure and/or "dry"). But hey, that's the kind of humour I like!
However, I don't like your singing during the end-credits at all. You are out of tune! Maybe use autotune like Madonna? I don't want to offend you, but I want to help.
Hey Kino Don't you think this episode should have been called "I Loved Him Like A Brother-In-Law"
Very funny Phil remark
When does it ever mention in the show that Phil was in the can? Great videos Kino but it might pay to check your facts beforehand.
Vito has the same inner narration when he is pitching not catching
Vito never had the makings of a varsity pitcher.
