As much as I loved the Netflix series, I gotta say that I'm really loving Christine's series here! There's something about watching her take on these projects in her casual clothes, often working in socks and having her pets in the background that makes me feel the love and passion she has for her craft. Having lived through the Stepford Wives decades and say, m'eh , but I see the attraction for the younger generations. I rocked the 20's to the 40's when I was in my youth. There was no goth back then. hahaha
There’s a retired line of very romantic, frilly clothing that used to be carried at malls designed by Jessica McClintock (do Scottish women just know more about romantic clothing?). It was called Gunne Sax. They were gorgeous and very similar to the style Christine favors, and you can still find them in vintage clothing stores, but be prepared to pay dearly - a lot of modern women have fallen in love with them, too. A note of interest: Hillary Clinton wore a Gunne Sax dress for her wedding.
Everything about Christine is downright amazing, but my favorite thing is when her voice breaks just a tiny bit. It's soooo cute! She just seems cool, talented, quirky and yet still down-to-earth, so I think she's a great role model for all us spooky types. She proves you don't have to wear all black or be mean to be a darkly whimsical icon! Even though I liked the puppets and the costumes on Netflix, I think she really shines brightest as the only star of the show. So glad to see our favorite artist on youtube!
A true renaissance woman. I was entranced watching her dremel the individual scales into the serpent wood accents. Gives me chills to watch her work come to life. Way an exceptional artist. Would die to be her "caged cameraman" I'm sure she feeds him?
OUR DIY QUEEN IS BACK!!! When I heard your Netflix show didn't get renewed my heart broke. I'm so so so happy to see you're taking matters into your own hands!

I thought the netflix show was fun but I ultimatley agree that this is better. Its way more focus on the actual craft and its cool to see what I assume is her house. I think she kept some of that whimsy with her intro, her adorable pets and the gag about camera man. If she can keep a sprinkeling of that this will be the best of both worlds.
I have to say the Jim Henson puppets were cute, but the storyline did have me cringeing more than once. It was kind of predictable and too kiddy for adults. I think her talent to create is the real star and she doesn't need the cheesy storylines and puppets to keep people entertained.

@@marylhere I read somewhere she said it's a wheaten terrier :)
I can't wait for more videos. She makes homemaking seem glamorous again
She took grandma’s old sofa and made it look... older... in a much better way. Incredible.
We need to have more women like you to be stinkin' famous!
how does she look so BEAUTIFUL and CHILL whilst UPHOLSTERING A COUCH how is that even physically possible??!!
I’m literally sitting here wondering how in my years studying fashion and following macabre and DIY, I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS YOU BEFORE?!
Mesmerising, articulate and incredibly creative and talented 💕
Shame on you, Netflix. You screwed up. Please keep making these, Christine. We love you.
Netflix! What the hell were you thinking not to renew this series???? This is fabulous!
McConnell has extraordinary talent as a craftsperson! It is rare to find such ingenuity and a flare for unconventional aesthetics.
Why isn't this monetized! UA-cam needs to get on this amazing series that's starting!
Alix Moore youtube can keep their grabby money hungry hands off of this, the people who love it should use her patreon to support her directly imo.
How could Netflix let go of such rare talent?!?!? I am so mesmerised by everything she does.
Amazing!!!! she can come decorate my house any time. Love the fact that she's dark and girly at the same time.
Honestly, I really love her Netflix series and it's a shame that it's cancelled. But I'm glad that her channel exists. Everything she does is pure magic.
My daughter and I love all her projects. So disappointing Netflix didn’t have the brains to give her another season but I’m so happy to see her continuing here. 🖤
Did I seriously just watch you basically build a couch? Beautiful and talented beyond belief...is there anything you can't do?
This is the best UA-cam video. Netflix missed out on renewing.
Good grief girly, is there nothing you can't do? I'm blown away on that couch
I can’t wait to watch this channel BLOW tf up
you don't just create things, you create an atmosphere. Well done, can't wait for more
I'm so excited for monthly shows! Great episode to kick off the series. What a beautiful re-imagining of a typical pullout sofa. At 10:30 I was like, this looks great, but missing something. Then at 11:24 we see the snake motif being drawn on, and I was like, "okay there's the C. McC. touch I was waiting for." :-D
She can do anything. And she’s gorgeous, and sweet, and has the voice of a Disney Princess. Oh and the most bouncy hair ever. My Queen, I ❤️you
The talent and skill on display here is RIDICULOUS
Your unicorn sweater!!!! 😍
You know when you watch a DIY and think you may be able to do that? Yeah that never happens when i watch you. The longer i watched the more I'm convinced that you have some special powers or something. Your talent is unfathomable and you continuously take my breath away. I'm in awe of you. you're just magnificent
I swear, I don't think she's human! She is incredible!
This is possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen on UA-cam.
I am so impressed!!! That sofa is to die for!! Fantastic work. 🎃
I am so taken with you. You are unbelievably artistic, elegant, and crafty. I just discovered you.
I was so excited when you posted that you were making a series on youtube I watched your netflix special and I loved it so much I ended up following you on facebook and now here. You are so talented I love all of your works. It was sad to hear that they were not making a second season of your nextflix show but now you are going to be making videos for youtube and again I am so excited! Love you Christine!
Watching this I was like "She talented and she can reupholster in stylish flats. She is amazing. Couch looks great!" She starts adding wooden carved snakes to the edges. "Shes a Witch! No one can be that good!!!" I am so glad I found your channel. You have a home esthetic that I love. Reminds me of the home from Sabrina.
this video is like if a member of the Addams family had a diy channel. which means its awesome!
I cant wait for netflix to see her Sub count and view count soar! I hope she makes good money off UA-cam, the content is advertiser friendly and this way she can make more content too :)
Lucky Lex so true. I can’t wait to see what she does. She now has more control of content and production. She’s amazing!!!!!
And she doesn't have to be told what to do by netflix!!
Omfg! I want her to do my entire home. This is the coolest house I have ever seen! My black heart swells!
