Damn you improved my quick jig. I failed miserably at first run but the camera didn't roll. Ha! ha! I'm good. First runs was a 16mm (1/2") thick seg ring. The jig held in the center by a round 12mm thick disk, just touching the inside of the segments. Wooow watch the segmented ring spin and disintegrate. learnt quickly to cut to shape. Hmmm moderately cool there, 65f = 17.2c a cold day in Winter. Was in Adelaide today 37c =98.6f. TeeShirt weather. Couple of years back it was 48c = 118.4f Damn that was hot. 😁😁😁
118 that is HOT.......
Very nice idea 😁👍🏼👏
Thanks I just took her for an extended test run she did awesome.......
@@floridabeardedwoodworker well if you dont mind, i just might borrow your idea 😁
@@PotgieterWoodturning have at it, that is why I do this. Robert helped me create it.. I will be building a nicer one now that I know it works well. Brian
@@floridabeardedwoodworker thank you Brian
Making this this weekend. Planning on version 2.0, so it fits between the ways and maybe gluing sandpaper around the dowels. Hope you are well and either enjoying turning or fishing.
Great idea I would love to see it.
Good idea
Many many thanks & my fingers thank rob.... FBWW
Hi FBW, nice adaptation of Rob's jig. You can take it a stage further and the is in stead of a handle on the back put a bolt through the middle of the board and hold the bolt in a Jacobs Chuck in you tail stock. If the bolt is at 90 degrees to the board the face of the board will be parallel to your sanding jig and you will get flat rings. Take care. Cheers, Huw
Awesome idea ,that could be another video, Stay tuned. Thanks for the feedback. FBWW
Very Cool Brother! You're killing me... "it's 65 degrees, I need a coat" lol
I am a total southern boy. The heat is even on lol Thanks for the view. Brian.
Looks great! Very nice!!
Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate you dropping by.
Awesome work! Sending love from the Home Depot boys
You guys ROCK thanks for the support!!!!!
Starting today, MY fingers, also, are no longer scraped when I sand. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to sand one edge of the stoppers to increase holding areas & get a better grip. I may put a bolt in the center too!.
Great idea I can’t wait to see what you do. FBWW
Florida is a long state. I'm in Pensacola
