Got another plus-size supercut of my recent journey through THE IMMORTAL LOCK. Hope these kinds of videos are alright for you fine folks. I'm trying my best to keep things ticking over while working on more traditional content in the background. Hoping to check out DWELL at some point too!
Honestly, it's great. I missed out on watching several supercuts because I thought they wouldn't be to my tastes. Gave one a go a couple of weeks ago, and loved it and has since seen most of them! You have a natural talent with providing interesting and entertaining commentary on the fly. The editing is also nice and it never feels like I've missed something crucial while watching the cuts.

To anyone who is going to give this a try, if you're a casual gamer or even a casual Quake player, play this on easy. Hard and Nightmare are insanely difficult and almost require you to know some quirky aspects of Quake. Rocket Jumping and quicksaving becomes vital. Also the yellow powerup simply allows you to rocketjump without taking any damage. The easy difficulty also ADDS in level geometry for easier navigation. Bet you don't see that every game. There's 2 endings, the first one is the "bad" ending and is pretty easy to get. The 2nd ending requires you to get all 4 runes, walk backwards after finishing the 2nd slaughtermap section to find the dead commander and his codes. You then need to find a slipgate located somewhere in the level and travel there by pressing a button. You get an entirely new section. You get one new weapon in the new section. But as I have mentioned, you need to get past 2 slaughter sections full of enemies, which is where most of the enemy count is, before you can access that new section. It should be very smooth sailing from there on in.

Played this the other day, wonderful mod. Was really pleasantly surprised by the writing, which is not something you typically say about a Quake mod. The author was clearly very inspired when writing the logs about the soldiers and researchers getting absorbed into the fleshy mass.

There are two SMEJ (Suomi Mappers Episode Jam) episodes which exemplify this, and the two authors of the Spiritworld episode, which is available in the Quake remaster's add-ons menu, are also Finns. There are also lots of beloved indie games by Finnish developers, such as ULTRAKILL, Barotrauma, and Cruelty Squad, which have a reputation for difficulty and brutality as well as generally bizzare and unique aesthetics.
When you finally finish this map with the secret ending and that re-contextualizes the very beginning of the mod to make you realize that even the freaking fog effect on the start map when you enter a new game is actually part of the story? Yeah, this is really the best Quake mod ever made!
Yeah, the one time I watched a Final Destination movie I realized that it's dark slapstick comedy. Somebody got a rock fired through their head by a lawnmower.

The monster count on easy here is literally like around 4 times the amount of monsters in nightmare in all 4 original Quake episodes combined IIRC. It's insane!
I just need to mention, that I'm watching this at a time when the video is at a perfect 666 likes. It doesn't get more Quake hell-flesh dimension than this.
