This is a GREAT video! I loved every minute from beginning to end, the strategy, the process, the execution, the finished product.... I loved the entire thing! Thanks for sharing, I have liked and subscribed to your channel. Please share more of these driveway projects. Love them!

It's interesting, but you are the only UA-cam producer that DOES NOT ask for people to subscribe and like on the account. That is very refreshing and telling.
With the quality of your site, you should have more subscribers. You have a ton of views when you compare other sites that have more views.
You are my favorite UA-cam personality by far. Keep it up!

Chris, If you use a non-woven geotextile (needle punched and heat fused polypropylene) you will find that it allows water to flow horizontally across the structure. It is superior to woven tape geotextile for drainage both vertically (gravity) and horizontally (wicking).
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks.

Was just sitting watching this and glanced over to the 5 people who disliked the video, and I thought who would dislike the video and why?, its not action packed for sure, dosnt have any Adrenalin rushes in it, so what do people expect?, if you dont like this kind of stuff then scroll on past, I myself suffer from anxiety and there is something calming about Chris's video's, watching these saves me a fortune on therapy.

Well, i don give thumps down or thumps up. But there is a reason for a negative reaction. This was budget work. And not proper or good and nowhere near to perfection at all. For amateurs it looks nice but pros know about making it right.
There is no reason to blame Chris for this. Even if you know better you often have to deal with a to small budget or customer unreal wishes or bad tastes. Every craftsman knows this situation very good.
And that is just one reason to unlike. For me as viewer its Ok to like or dislike any video for any reason.

an old fashioned culvert, shallow trench across the driveway, then since you have it, fabric along the trench, some of the bigger rock, fold fabric over then do the fabric and rock / fill on the driveway. the trench will allow more water across to a lower level than the driveway swale, the fabric and rock in it will keep it from getting silted in.

I hate that fabric when we have to fix driveways with it. Here is a few months you will have to fix that right and deal with the fabric peeling out all over. Wish you would have told him you need to cut some ditches first with the grader and used that to build up the road. Would have lost some crop ground but it would have dried out in a few days. Then you could have tailgated a bunch of gravel on it and used the grader to smooth and pack. You have an awesome grader for this.

Great video 👍. I’ve just never understood why people want to build back so far from the road without first putting in a proper drive way. It’s not like you would not be planning on driving up and down it multiple times a day. Looks like that would be a first priority , because stone trucks or construction vehicles will still end up coming and going over the years.

4 in 1 bucket until you operate one for many hours you have know idea what your missing. Lite dozer, grabbing/lifting, working alone, stripping grass, cutting 1-2",spreading material. Spent over 10,000 hrs with one what a blessing. I could remove the hat from your head and set it on the ground pick it back up and put it back on your head. Chris I see you mastering this bucket also, I think you made a wise investment

It was not til I started watching others use equipment that my approach was wrong (ranchwork/ag) with a sub compact tractor. I have learned how to finess to get desired results. Recently got to use a skidsteer (but sub-compact is what still have) , and that was eye opening to the correct equipment for the job. That 4/1, I would LOVE to have one!

The reason the people dislike. Maybe. Because they know how to operate this kind of equipment. And they know . The he ain’t to good to run the track loader . And a lot of people the don’t know anything about this equipment and grading they get all excited when they see some kind of machine running.

Did you do a project very similar to this recently? I swear I remember something like this from just a few months ago. Maybe it's deja vu?

i extended the driveway to the house, 400 ft, fabric , 9 tri axles, # 3 limestone, choke it in with #2a lime stone with dust, 6 in thick +. total driveway 1400 ft now. no neighbors.

Why do you put fabric down? I have repaired a few driveways with the scarifier teeth on the box blade to bring up the old gravel. Wouldn't that or a harley rake grab that fabric and make a heck of a mess? Not criticizing, just interested in the reasoning etc as I don't know anyone in my area that does this although I see it done quite often on the tube. Keep the great content coming. Have thought about picking up a Tak12 myself.

Just been watching this JPayDirt video of Jake operating their big CAT excavator. Jeff is always saying that Jake is a lot better than him with the excavator, so I am wondering are CAT excavators not as smooth as Volvo excavators, or is it Chris that makes the Guins equipment look so silky smooth? Check the 1:30 mark for an example where Jake is pushing the dirt. It is not pretty compared to what we are used to on this channel. Apologies to Jeff and Jake if it is an equipment issue. ua-cam.com/video/k1w_Cc5It1g/v-deo.html
