I run heavy equipment myself and I look to Chris as the gold standard of what I want my work to be I think the outrageous skill he has is what I strive to be in a operator
Nicely done! That will definitely help keep the water away from the house and help the pond keep it’s level. I think people are often surprised by the amount of water that comes off the roof
Looking Nice !! Coming right along Chris.....You right, I believe the talent has decreased myself, I'll be 50 yrs. old at the end of this month, and that's the way i was taught, when ya finish it , finish it ! like you said, what's another hour or so work to make it nice ,as it should be, I think today a lot of taking pride in your work has been lost along the way !! And that is one of the main reasons i love your work , You was taught the right way , because you take a whole lot of Pride in your work , and it shows in every Job you do !! And that's Nice to see.... Have a Great evening Man..Stay Safe !!
I just wonder who's building that is and it's purpose is. Great job no matter what. This and some other channels are keeping me sane during this friggen' pandemic.
There are very few operators that I would allow to get that close to my building. You would be one of the very few on the top of my list for trusted operators.
In Scotland, we very rarely put any pipework in the ground without gravel in and around it. (5-20 mm) It both serves to protect pipes (packed underneath) and adds to the overall drainage of the site. I mean you have done the hard work, excavating the track you might as well put gravel in making extra drainage. The extra cost is balanced out in the long-run. Yes, I know the customer is always right, apparently? Thanks for the content, much appreciated.
In the UK it is building regs, code (in my area anyway) to put pipes in on small gravel. Architect had is specified in our drawings down to size and depth of gravel around the whole pipe. Old way was to drive wooden stakes in to get correct fall then fill the lower third/half with concrete giving the pipe a full solid base to rest on.
I really like the forethought that you put into all your projects, sometimes years in advance. That is not only experience but that’s a bit of a talent to have. Most people can even plan there next day let alone a project that could be years in the making!
All this downspout digging has me ready for my downspout job coming up. There’s one left the owner didn’t do himself because there’s a drain box he wants put in too. The last downspout goes right through all the cable lines too, fun times! Figures that’s the one he left me lol.
Chris, Would you do some of us a favor and show how you use the controls to dig flat and level? I'm sure it's not just one direction of one handle. Thanks, Kevin
@Mark Lift the front off the ground, if you want to go right push left pedal at the same time you turn the house to the left....Here is a video clip to show you, specifically at the 10:02 min mark ua-cam.com/video/AEtOttmBHQQ/v-deo.html
Nice ditch Chris. Very tidy. I hope you'll not mind me saying not quite as good as Frank Cunnmingham (DigginOK) - who you recently met at ConExpo - digs a ditch/footing, but while he has sharper edges and perfect corners, I suspect his technique takes a little longer to get the job done. It was great to see Tim getting all creative in this video. Helping out with the back filling, and then backing off from loading the truck before he face planted the side of the truck by tipping off that ledge. He'll have seen you use a scoop of dirt to build a wee ramp or to make a platform, and that stood him in good stead today. I guess John could have parked a bit closer to the ledge and saved Tim the trouble though.
A trick I learned to not dig into pipes that are unknown beneath you while you are diging is take about 6 in of dirt out of the top and keep doing 6 in increments to the bottom of the trench instead of taking out full scoops.
when you finish jobs the way you do its great because the bush telegraph work wonders. that is why all comments are good towards you. keep the good work up. if you are no aware of the saying bush telegrapf is aussie slang people telling others
Great vid mate. Gotta ask though, why are they dumping all the roof run off into the dam instead of going into a tank for either drinking water or water for other uses? Maybe they have direct pipe line water from another source?
Today with our cat 303.5 I dug 200 ft of trench using the method of digging down 6 in and almost hit a old spring pipe but didn’t because this method exposes it and we were able to see it, it would not really have mattered even if I did hit it because it’s a pipe we probably won’t use ever again but it is still intact so we can if we want to.
Thanks for all the videos from a old crippled up guy in chicago thats locked up do to this virus.Sorry don't have any advice on how to operate al those machines
Great job guys, Chris, is the owner not worried about storm levels on the pond and that it may flood his building? It seems like it's awfully close to the pond? Maybe it's the camera making it seem more level than it actually is?
Nice job, but that corrugated black pipe looks like crap stuffed onto those square downspouts. Like I said on the last video you should of used pvc, they make nice downspout adapters that would fit the square downspouts and I usually put clean outs right after the ninety, just in case it should get clogged...maybe next time give it a try.
Polyethylene is not intended for down spouts because the Sun will deteriorate the exposed pipe. PVC is the better choice when exposed. It is my opinion but I have been around drainage since 1970 and started using plastic drain tile in 1976.
Hey question for you. Does your thumb hard plumb or do you have flat face coupler on it? We just bought a new Yamar 55 and have gone through 2 set of couplings on it got less then 30 hours on it. Love the videos.
Sounds like somethings wrong with the couplings. I have hose connections the same way, and some of them, from different manufacturers, are not interchangeable! They are a milimeter difference!
That had to be messing with the ocd I know you have. Ha. As long as the customer is happy that’s all that matters. Just thought I would say it because I figured you didn’t like it much either. Videos are awesome. Your the man!
Another good video Chris! Could you try to use the drone more? I try to use it as much as I can to show people everything going on. Keep getting after it man!
Dude when are you gonna get more tshirts??? Either have to be tiny or huge to get one lol. Especially want the safety colored ones to wear on site. Ended up just getting stickers. Like the videos my man keep on keeping on!
I'm sure finishing the downpipe connections like that is not your normal standard but probably a customer trying to save money? Such a shame just to save a few $$$. That would drive me nuts as the owner having to look at that every day which is why I got into a project knowing what it costs and the bill is what it is.
Always nice to see a good clean job done. The finish is superb. Cornwall UK.

As always, I enjoy watching you do the great job you do. Care and attention to detail are evident in this project too.
Your quality of work and attention to details is admirable.
Good work boys! I'd like to see how much water comes off that roof and into the pond during a good storm!
Looking Nice !! TheBurnsStuff it's only a new building, what's the worst that could happen 🤷🏼♂️
TheMth370 they have to demolish said new building and replace it with another new building 😂
Those Men . Need a raise and a bonus.. for the Hard work and Dedication. Great work and keep those Videos Coming.
You do such a great job and the finish work seals the deal! It’s easy to spot a job you have done!
Your stick work is butter sir!
Respects 🙏

Bear in mind nc is sandy, no need to protect pipe with gravel, the added drainage thru the gravel would erode the sandy soil. Everywheres different!!
I really like the forethought that you put into all your projects, sometimes years in advance. That is not only experience but that’s a bit of a talent to have. Most people can even plan there next day let alone a project that could be years in the making!
You really knocked that job out well, my friend.
I don’t care what Chris,Tim and john do,i enjoy it anyway,,as do most of us !
Well Chris you and Tim and John y’all done a damn good job on it it really looks good so y’all have a blessed day and stay safe brother
Nice little dewatering project. The next rain will come! Stay safe.
Nice and clean looks great the way a job should be and look Nice Chris Thumbs Up My Friends
Looks like a nice project again Chris, so close to the building, skills are amazing 👌👍⚠️
I have noticed that the tractor and box blade has been forgotten. I was always amazed at how some of those guys could do with one. Good job Chris
You do such a nice finishing job.Always neat.👏🏻👏🏻👍🇨🇦🇺🇸🌹Stay safe and healthy.

I've been wanting to see that also.

What a nice building, you never know what Letsdig will be doing next.

Looking good Chris great job guys 😎👍👍
You've got very sandy lookin' "topsole" around there. You do very nice work. Have enjoyed watching your videos.
You guys do great work that area looks good. Be safe be careful. ☕️🍩👍🍀
I believe this project will require a follow up when it is really raining hard just for general principal
Thanks Chris, great job, as always!
Like the job your doing guy's ,keep doing it .
ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊
Man your great at your job like a friggin surgeon
how about putting the camera on Tim's machines once in awhile? We need to see his machine expertise too
Nice work!!👍
when you finish jobs the way you do its great because the bush telegraph work wonders. that is why all comments are good towards you. keep the good work up. if you are no aware of the saying bush telegrapf is aussie slang people telling others
Nice work! Next time you are there, can you show us then pipe ends where they empty into the pond? Curious how far you lead them in.
Awesome video Chris thank you for sharing
It's a good idea to pull the dirt away from that siding so it dosent rust.
Great vid mate. Gotta ask though, why are they dumping all the roof run off into the dam instead of going into a tank for either drinking water or water for other uses? Maybe they have direct pipe line water from another source?
With the size of the dirt clods you were lifting out,,, I would have to say you achieved 98% compaction.
great work

There's just something peacefully simplistic about a running a bulldozer.
Thanks for all the videos from a old crippled up guy in chicago thats locked up do to this virus.Sorry don't have any advice on how to operate al those machines
That's a good looking job Chris, but that's the only kind you do! Thanks for the frequent videoes!
Its okay for the skid steer to cover ahead but I prefer to do with excavator as it don't get air pockets in the trench line. Easy money
What's planned for that property? Looks ideal for golf!
Keeping the manual labor to absolute minimum.
Made for a great video bro. Stay safe
interesting how different countries d things. in UK a[[ drains have to go in first and pass a pressure test before building starts
Oh I remember this place , that's where you dug that long crater hole for clay .
Great job guys, Chris, is the owner not worried about storm levels on the pond and that it may flood his building? It seems like it's awfully close to the pond? Maybe it's the camera making it seem more level than it actually is?
that building is probably 6' higher than the pond dam, it could never flood
@@letsdig18 cool, i figured it was the camera playing tricks with my eyes. Thanks for the reply..
There's no adapter to go from the rectangular downspout to the round drain pipe?
I noticed another John on the job today. Is that really necessary since there is woods so close by?
Looks good so far I’m sure it will look better with some stone
Nice job, but that corrugated black pipe looks like crap stuffed onto those square downspouts. Nj One Bale its what the customer wanted.
Hey question for you. Does your thumb hard plumb or do you have flat face coupler on it? We just bought a new Yamar 55 and have gone through 2 set of couplings on it got less then 30 hours on it. Love the videos.
not sure what you are asking. the thumb lines are permanently mounted to the machine
The hydraulic connections from the thumb, if you wanted to use another implement like a hammer or the tilt bucket.
Sounds like somethings wrong with the couplings. I have hose connections the same way, and some of them, from different manufacturers, are not interchangeable! They are a milimeter difference!
Whoever put the pad down knew what they were doing !!! ;-)
It is a shame you can not angle the dozer blade on the mini to back fill the trench ?
What happened to the 4in1 bucket you had for the Skidsteer Chris?
Another job turned out well so far 👍
its sitting at my house lol
Good job of this Excavator i love this work so much
are doing social distancing chris hahahahahahahahahaha good job driving the mini ex and good video as always
I was here 😎
Awesome job!!
Where are the downspout adapters?
owner wanted to do it this way
Adaptors would make it look nicer and less apt to fall off or come apart in a big rainfall.
That had to be messing with the ocd I know you have. Ha. As long as the customer is happy that’s all that matters. Just thought I would say it because I figured you didn’t like it much either. Videos are awesome. Your the man!
Ryan Waltos , good point , I was disappointed that adaptors weren’t used .
Nice job Chris! Thank you for sharing! :-)
How do you maintain a level grade through an arc? (minute 1 though 10 of video)
Do you install those flat or with fall?
love the sound of the Yanmar
Another good video Chris! Could you try to use the drone more? I try to use it as much as I can to show people everything going on. Keep getting after it man!
I'll bring it tomorrow
Where's the septic and lateral field?
far side of the builder
Dude when are you gonna get more tshirts??? Either have to be tiny or huge to get one lol. Especially want the safety colored ones to wear on site. Ended up just getting stickers. Like the videos my man keep on keeping on!
Chris where does that 10" dump into? I need to do something like this on our arena
Dumps into the pond.
Nice job !
New subscriber here... what part of the country is this?
Wildey's Here North Carolina
Truck driver is the boss right?
Yes, that's Chris`s Uncle John
Do you have a option on a yanmar 100 2a ? Been looking at a cat 308 or the yanmar
sorry but Ive never used one, the smaller ones like the 55 are great tho
Ok. Now those 't's' make sense
shit, thought this was Andrew because of the thumbnail. ill be back to watch it no doubt!
What size if the Yanmar?
Does Tim have a site?
I wish there were some time-lapse used.
Very nice.
Is this some sort of industrial park?
private shop
Nice!
Like you were never there. Pretty impressive.
Things seem to go a lot faster when John is around.
You know he is the boss. 😀
Yeah, its obvious.
Now just need to add water turbines where the pipes enter the pond. Rainstorm hydropower!
Isnt this from last year? Those trees look quite full for this time of year. Either way, I'm happy to see this job come together. Love it!
nope today, spring has sprung!
Have you ever watched Barry kozdrowski UA-cam excavation videos? He was a legend!
sweet...#2...:-) nice work ....
is the pond a fish pond
Mini makinaları çok seviyorum 👍 çok iyi 👏👏
I'm sure finishing the downpipe connections like that is not your normal standard but probably a customer trying to save money? Such a shame just to save a few $$$. Oops that will teach me comment beforethe end of the video as you just explained why. Sorry!
Grading bucket and angle head have paid for themselves quickly! Eh?
good video
That pond looks wet.
daza Smit , don’t think so , it’s just an optical illusion LOL
Them other two guys must get paid by the hour.....
One of Them other two guys is the boss LOL
