      @michaelnoviello6302 I assume you mean liberals. That's usually what people mean when they say woke even though they don't know what it means and they can't stop saying it. This is the one and only video of his that they can point to that backs up their insane narratives. He was against both liberals and conservatives. See all of his videos on religion, yuppies, and abortion. Hell, conservatives were the ones who always tried to shut him up. Thank fake God they couldn't.

    "Sometimes I do question if this plastic thing is really so serious, you know!?"
    Well, as a software developer who has worked with image processing for fetal ultrasounds, I can tell you that microplasics have already shown up in those exams, both in amniotic fluid and placenta.
    So it is just as George has said, the Earth will be fine, but whatever is alive today will have to adapt to the changes we've made, including us.

    • @spankyjeffro5320
      @spankyjeffro5320 2 роки тому

      Yep. We'll just have to adapt, just like the Earth has done for millions of years.
      But, unlike the earth, we don't have the same adaptability.
      Plastics, metals, cars and radioactive power are how we adapt.
      So, if they end up spelling our downfall, how are we to adapt then?
      We won't. THAT's what we're scared of.
      We don't give a shit about the planet.
      We give a shit about what happens to us as a result of what happens to the planet.
      There's a massive difference there. :)

    back in the mid 1970's there was a push to "save the trees" for good reasons and these same people told us to use plastic to save the trees that where made into paper bags. now these same activists are the ones yelling about the use of plastic bags now we should use paper bags. lol so George is right.

    • @TonyZ8553
      @TonyZ8553 2 роки тому

      Speak for yourself because some of us absolutely mind the pauses...you should never pause a comedy routine midstream...ever.! 95 % of what makes comedy funny is the pacing and timing and pausing totally breaks that timing and ruins the pacing so many things that were funny are now not because of the broken pacing. Just don't pause the video to make inane comments and speak for yourself when you say WE instead of YOU.

    • @usaintwinnin7312
      @usaintwinnin7312 2 роки тому +1

      @@TonyZ8553 then go watch the video. This is a reaction channel. To watch others and hear their reaction on something. Believe me when I say we all know you speak for yourself. It must suck being so negative all the time that you watch a comedy routine (that you probably have seen) get mad at the reactor you choose to watch react (whom you’re probably subscribed to) and take the time to send negative comments because your life sucks so much you can’t enjoy comedy or the positive personality reacting to the comedy.

  • @OpenMawProductions
    @OpenMawProductions 2 роки тому +2

    3:33 You'll notice here that George switches off routine for just a moment to counter someone in the crowd who is heckling. The exact person he's describing couldn't sit and enjoy the show. They had to get indignant and start yelling. Almost, in a way, proving Carlin's point. We can't even be respectful within our own rules. A comedy show is a rhetorical performance. It's to be talked about after the fact, or just enjoyed as it happens. It's not an interactive experience. Yet, people can't seem to control themselves and they to get up and start yelling. As if that's going to change things.

  • @jonathanhenderson9422

    Bits like this is Carlin (and comedy) at his/its most poetic. The rhythm and the way he uses repetition is the same way a beat or slam poet uses them. He's certainly correct that we are no real threat to the planet, though we are a threat to ourselves because of what we're doing to the planet. Stuff like climate change probably won't mean much to the Earth in the long run, but it could easily wipe us out.

    Great reaction. Love the commentary. Carlin would sit there and practice his sets over and over again. It’s amazing. He is very smart and very funny. A true legend.
    When people say “Save the planet”, they really mean save the human race. For being “intelligent” creatures, we aren’t that smart. We are out of sync with our technology. We have the technology to really improve humanity, but we mainly spend our time killing humans, making stuff we don’t need and making sure rich people get very rich. We don’t spend much money on the advancement of humanity. The U.S. spends about $700 billion on weapons, and $8 million on the environment. Again, “the planet is fine… the people are fucked.” 😂

    7:44 Anywhere you choose to live on this planet you're in the sights of some potential disaster. Whether it's a volcano(I have ash from the 1980 Mt. St Helens eruption which covered miles and miles of ground in many inches of ash.), Earthquakes, tidal waves, tornados, hurricanes, intense heat, intense cold... Most of the planet isn't suitable for human life. Think about that. Most of the planet is ocean water, you can't drink it. A large portion of the land is either too hot, too dry, or too cold. We live in the rest, that small percentage... and of that, about half of us live in places that are not conductive to growing large crops, or having readily available and clean drinking water.

  • @FleagleSangria

    On George Carlin..
    I think George does make us think. And even if he isnt scientifically sound on everything he states his bigger message is:
    "You cant change what the entire world is doing to the planet and at the same time be a selfish bastard who thinks of only himself in regards to "saving the planet""
    His message, the heart of his comedy message has almost always been simple:
    Until we learn to be kind to each other, think of our fellow man first, then all of these things we worry about and weird ways we act..are meaningless.
    Whether its the silly way we talk and are non-sensical in our thinking concerning words, or the really wasteful and meaningless practice of collecting more "stuff" or the futile attempts of man to politicize and curruptly try and "save the planet", it is all very small if we dont love and care for each other.
    And to me, that is George Carlin's greatest legacy....
    To make us laugh, bring joy in a tough world and plant a seed to make a difference in the world that really counts:
    Love and be kind to each other.
    We are all on the same crazy bus together. Just different destinations. Comedy is great when funny and laughter cannot be beaten. But when it is combined to teach us and change us..then it becomes art.

    "Oh my God he knows so much!"
    Why don't you? We've all had an education, right? You sound British, is education in the UK that bad?
    I live below sea level. I feel safe. Why? Because we've been working on this for 700 years.

    Another great reaction. Let me give a link to one of Andrew Dice Clay's stand ups. Keep in mind it was all an act. He is a Jewish guy from NYC playing an obnoxious Italian guy from NYC.

    You will not be let down! Or anyone else that loves to laugh until it hurts 🤣
    He was the first Stand Up Comedian to sell out Madison Sq Garden here in the City.
    But.... he is very "in your face" like a precursor to O'Neil, Carlin, Burr etc.
    He is one of my all time favorites ❤.

    This is my favorite George Carlin, I’ll call it a rant. But, he’s right. The amazing thing is this video is from years ago. He would be hated by the left if they broadcasted this over every college campus.

      You poor child. You don't get it, do you? He's a comedian with a bit, and the point is that humans are screwing ourselves. It boggles the mind why the right would think he's aligned with them. The only reason he jabs liberals is that even then, Republicans were so batshit crazy there was no point.

    "It doesn't punish. It doesn't reward. It just is." Always loved this closing of this special, as though it was an early epitaph. He was the GOAT of stand-up, Robin Williams and Richard Pryor fighting for second best.

    Yeah I would be scared living next to a volcano. Before artificial fertilizers though...those are some of the richest natural soils :)
