When this movie was released on DVD, there was a special subtitles option just for Brad Pitt's character. It was a really awesome detail thrown in.

a lot of Americans say this but in the UK, that is actually a Big car.Tyrone is just a VERY big guy.
This is one of my favorite movies ever. The entire cast is awesome but Bullet Tooth Tony and Boris the Blade are my favorite characters.

Well, i think Brad Pitt pulled off an oscar worthy performance here though.
It is very hard to pick out any one of them to like more than others tbh.
My favourite scenes are the conversations between Sol and the gang though. I mean, no matter how many times you've seen the movie, it always cracks you up. The accent, different types of slangs, facial expressions, just gold.
Bullet Tooth Tony is played by Vinnie Jones. He was a football player until like a year before this film.....and he was insane. He basically plays himself here

Her sister Sinead Cusack, also an actor, is married to Jeremy Irons and they live in a restored castle in the south of Ireland. Not related to John and Joan Cusack, the acting Cusack siblings from Chicago.

Fair play for picking up (most of) that.
You'll notice at 10:20 that Lennie James (the actor on the right getting attacked by the dog) looks straight into the camera for a second. He was trying to figure out what to do because the dog was attacking him for real. Apparently the dog was a real jerk the entire shoot and was constantly attacking Lennie James and doing things he wasn't supposed to.
14:45 - gotta love Brad's expression after knocking his opponent out in the first round. Great film that's good for watching a few times as it stays funny. Bullet Tooth Tony is played by Vinnie Jones, who was a professional football (soccer) player renowned for his hard-to-get-past defense play.
and also held the world record for fastest red card (send off) - 3 seconds after the start of the game ;D
shit, no! hes 5 seconds, it was later beaten tho, and current is 3secs :D
BUT Vinnie's for a foul, and the current one, 3secs, is for foul mouth ;D
I love this film and Guy Ritchie’s movie making style. The cast in this movie is legendary. This was a good choice, Brett!

@@YouMeTheMovies Go down the Matthew Vaughn rabbit hole too. He's involved in these Guy Ritchie films as a producer and co-writer IIRC, and has carved out his own niche and catalog of films too (Kingsman, Kick Ass, etc.).
Every time I see Del Toro in the MCU as The Collector, I always would say, "WHERE ARE THE STOOOOONNNES!" lol
Thing about Jason Statham is he didn’t become action guy until a couple years after this with The Transporter. Before that he did these kind of comedy roles in Guy Ritchie. Watching this back when it came out I’ve always found it kind of funny Statham ended up becoming like cool action guy, and that his goofy sidekick (Stephen Graham) seems to be like crazy mean dirty criminals now.
I remember super troopers was out the same time as this and I was the only one that wanted to see it out of 5 of us. I thought Snatch would be boring because I was in the mood for a comedy. Anyway, they persuided me in the end. The first two or three minutes I thought I was right and I sat there passed off: when they pulled out there guns and the music amped up, my eyes widened and I was enthralled right to the very end. What a movie.
Funny thing is Brad did his lines and then went off script and kept going in that scene. It was so comedic that it stayed in. However, when it went to DVD, the subtitle guys were so confused by it because it wasn't in the script, so the subtitle in that scene was " ? " because even they couldn't understand it.
This was Stathams second real movie, he had no action roles up to this point. He was a member of Britain's National Swimming Squad, as a diver and he was a model, before he started to act in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (also Guy Ritchie), his first action role comes later.
I’m sure someone mentioned this…that on the DVD, there’s an option to turn on subtitles just for Pitt’s character. I think that’s great.
The funny thing about the subtitles, if you select 'pikey', there's a point in the dialogue that the subtitles just say '????' I think it was the scene when Brad and his crew are talking to Tommy and Turkish

I know this whole thread is way old but I saw a video on "IRISH BOY REVIEWS BEST/WORST "IRISH" ACCENTS IN MOVIES" that said in fact " it was very good." They started talking this film right about 10 min in.
'The Gentlemen' is another GR crime movie with a great cast.
Am I the only one who feels like it's a watered down version of the really good films he used to make?
I couldn't watch it with out thinking "it's a bit like snatch and lock stock but no where as good".
Sorry to be a buzz kill but in my opinion I'd rather see them react to better things.
@@NeilLewis77 Nothing wrong if that's the way you feel. I personally don't agree but I can see how someone might feel that way. I think for me it's more about enjoying the fact that Guy Ritchie seems to be getting back into his own bag. For a while it seemed like he was really trying to distance himself from the style he was known from. And for me, "The Gentleman" feels like him embracing that style and was still planning to continue to grow so he doesn't get pigeonholed.

Then after his Madonna film flopped he went straight back and made revolver. A guns and geezers film that was awful.
Then a few years later he makes the rubbish snatch rip off called rock-an-roller.
Then a few years later it's the gentleman.
20 years since snatch and he's not grown or improved as a film maker.
Instead he's making guns and geezer films that just arnt as good.
Which I find dissapointing.
But each to their own.
And that's about all you can say about it
I liked it, it was a ‘Modern’ GR gangster film. No trench coats, no ridiculous heists, no Vinnie Jones. Classic GR but _subtle_

My favorite kind of comedy. The part I can never get enough of us the whole scene when they attempt the robbery and the big guy has to open the door.
That robbery was based on an actual real life robbery

Brad Pitt's character is definitely a fave, but I also loved Bullet Tooth Tony. He's awesome.
I love all of Vinnie Jones' characters. Fun fact: he was a famous soccer player prior to becoming an actor, and is widely recognized as one of the most violent players in history.
@@daveemerson6549 I think he holds the record for the fastest yellow card about 2 seconds into the game. Which back in the 80s and 90s you had to pretty much murder someone to get a yellow card that early into the game.

Saw "Snatch" at the theater and loved it. As a life long Chiefs fan, love the shirt and Brad Pitt would approve as well. He is also a Chiefs fan.
Brad Pitts accent was spot on. One of the best if not the best accent from an actor in any movie
True story: I was standing in line to buy tickets for this film opening weekend, when a mom and her pre-teen son joined the line behind me. My friends and I were all talking about various things when we heard the mom ask her son what movie did he want to see. In the most child like and innocent voice, the boy replied "I wanna see Snatch!"
I said to my friends: "Yeah kid, we all do."

Stephen Graham in one of his early roles as Tommy, use should watch boardwalk empire, he plays Al Capone in that brilliant crime series.

"Lock Stock" and "Rocknrolla" are very similar films, you should enjoy them as well.

Aye, the 'cant' is not easy to understand, let alone mimic. Sixteen years ago there was a murder case in my area involving Irish travellers, an interpreter was required in court.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels(1998) should be your next watch from amazing English director Guy Ritchie.
The Gentleman (2019) is also good and RocknRolla(2008) is a good watch too.

I think its it do with the distance to American dairies......most of their milk is UHT . Try drinking that stuff.
I loved the comedic tone throughout the entire movie which really helped excel it. Especially with those 3 black dudes in the get away car. I can't stop laughing at their stupidity and banter.

One of my favorite movies, I quote it way too much, and even got my wife on board. Favorite character is Tyrone, every scene with him is gold, but Bullet Tooth Tony is a close second. First time I heard of the movie was through my best friend in high school. We were in Walmart and he said, that he heard about this movie called Snatch and we should find the DVD and buy it. We couldn't find it on the shelf so we went and asked the check out lady and when she heard the name she yelled at us and kicked us out saying "We don't sell those type of movies here and you're too young!"

I think Tommy's issue is not a lack of bullets but that Boris sold him a defective gun with no firing pin.
Bullet Tooth Tony is definitely in the pantheon of movie tough guys! And Vinnie Jones is always a pleasure to watch!

Jason Statham is known for many things, including gunrunning in the UK, Modeling, and Olympic Diving. Not necessarily in that order. I saw him in Snatch first, then The Transporter. The way he fought and moved in Transporter screamed Jackie Chan, so I looked it up. Yeah, it's a fight coordinator of Jackie that was teaching him to move like that.
For Brad Pitt's character, I had to watch this film more than a few times to understand my lines. Brick Top is one badass villain in this one. Who wants to bet against the pikey in a unlicensed boxing and make sure he goes down in the fourth. We all love dougs... I mean dogs.
Doug the Head died in 2007 and Cousin Avi died in 2013, never was aware of it but I guess it makes sense since they were both older, but it's so weird they've been gone this long and I didn't even realize it. RIP you legends.

I've seen this many many times, and it's always enjoyable. Brad Pitt was still working on becoming a bigger actor, and Guy Ritchie was still fairly unknown to American audiences. So it's understandable to not have seen this film, I almost saw it in the theater back in 2000, but missed it and saw it later on DVD. Great reactions as usual, and it's great seeing both of you see something for the first time together.
Guy Ritchie being Guy Ritchie, which is fine. Really enjoyed Pitt in this one though. Super talented dude...

I think this is my favourite Guy Richie film. After living in Ireland for a long time its weird to not need subtitles at any stage. Great fun film that I will be digging out again for another watch. Keep up the great work folks. Hello from Fermangh

It's hard to pick a favorite character, but if I had to, it would have to be Brick Top played brilliantly by Alan Ford. The presence he commands in every scene is just amazing, and his lines are simply iconic:
Turkish: "You take sugar?" Brick Top: "No thank you, Turkish. I'm sweet enough."

"Do you know what 'nemesis' means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by a horrible cunt. Me."

Guy Ritchie is one of the best British gangster directors/guv'nors of all time, and "Snatch" is my favorite movie of his. The other movies that Guy Ritchie directed are amazingly badass such as "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Revolver", "Wrath of Man" and, more recently, "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre".
This is such a good movie, super good classic. So many good characters and persona!
Thanks for reacting to one of my top 10 movies of all time. It's one of those that you can watch 20-times and still find it a fun ride. Every character is unique and interesting, and the comedy isn't too over the top or forced. Overall, a really good movie.
We need another Benicio del Toro movie, the reaction to Fear and Loathing would be priceless

You saw Fight Club, in Se7en he's a rookie from the start. This showed Brad's acting big and different, like in "12 Monkeys", did you see that one? He does great, short roles. "True Romance" is another one you might like. Your movie choices put you in the top 3 for me so far. I won't explain why haha.

I really like the three bankrobbers but Tommy is my favorite. The actor has range too. He plays very small and meek in this movie and in another movie he plays a mean intimidating skinhead.
Excellent reaction guys, I'm new to your channel. Guy Ritchie has quite a few good films under his belt and everyone has mentioned them so I'll recommend Layer Cake directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Daniel Craig before he became James Bond, great movie.

Tommy's revolver was loaded - the firing pin was filed down by Boris the Bullet Dodger, from whom he bought it (not knowing it was incapable of firing).

One of the best and coolest movies I've ever seen. Brad Pitt is a sort of anti hero role model in this movie.
You NEED to watch Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels and Rock ‘N’ Rolla. Both Guy Ritchie films and both up there with snatch. BTW the Mrs is adorable and very cute laugh.

You guys seem to know guns and have a good eye. I don’t and have actually never noticed that Tommy’s gun is empty in the scenes where it is featured. That’s a really good pic by you guys, but I’m reasonably sure Tommy’s gun is not supposed to be taken as empty in those scenes. I think we are meant to think what they tell us in the movie, Boris sold him a crap gun that doesn’t fire for whatever reason. As he obviously doesn’t fear repercussions from Tommy. This is important mostly because it makes Tommy’s scene where he uses his gun to save Turkish knowing at doesn’t fire a really badass moment for him and arguably some character growth too.

This movie is hilarious throughout. So many memorable lines and characters.
This was before Jason Statham established himself as an action star and was only his second movie, the first being another Guy Ritchie film: Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which was similar but focused on drugs and card gambling. Before that he was in some music videos. Info from IMDb

The story goes that Brad Pitt wanted to be in this Guy Ritchie movie so bad he told him he'd do it for free. Guy told him I only have this tiny part for a boxer. Well Brad tried his hardest but he couldn't get the British accent down no matter how hard he tried. So Guy told him just mumble and will have somebody translate it. Well everyone loved his mumbling so much that Brad's part kept getting bigger and bigger in the movie. True story.
