I was also diagnosed with UC a few years ago and went through a colonoscopy a few months ago. Prepping truly sucks! I've been doing a lot of reading though, and it seems like it's not a permanent condition after all! I'm on my journey to get out of permanent medication and I'll be cheering on from here for your good health and success. If you need some moral support, I'm here!
Karsen, I’m unsure which prep you took. I understand there are 2 or 3 varieties. The one I take is a 1-gallon jug containing a powder that tastes like pineapple juice when mixed with water. I’ve learned the easiest way to drink it is to use 6 bottles of Lemon-Lime Gatorade instead of water. I haven’t tried other flavors (yet) although any liquid with red or reddish coloring is disallowed. I also found that the least discomforting food before & after the exam is instant mashed potatoes with gravy. Happy New Year! 👍
