Props to you for always being so honest in the hopes that you will help others. Acne, health issues, relationship things, your flaws, whatever. Young girls especially are lucky there is someone on UA-cam like you!
Prep is tge hardest jow ever im going to cheat this time and start clear liquids afew days before So my stool will run clear sooner and not have to suffer so much with bowel prep
Eugene...im 64...how did it go a year ago? Its 10-21-22 and I go in for a Endoscopy/Colonoscopy on Monday 10-21-22... very nervous. After all done for you..how did it go? Thanks🙋♀️🙂 God bless!
People would be surprised what a simple video could do. i'VE have a colonoscopy procedure this morning, there's a lot of painful things going on in my life in one year but i recently lost my little cousin to cancer. I'm a pretty lonely guy & i needed someone to relate to. Long story short this video really helped me out, made me feel a little lighter for a minute. So thanx for the video, dont change
I just had my first colonoscopy yesterday and unlike your experience, I was completely sedated for the entire procedure so I knew nothing of what went on and I am happy about that!
@@emanaliemanarshad1140 Not hard, but definitely not fun! There are different prep methods, just depends on what your doctor does. My sister- in-law just had to take some prescription pills for hers and drink a lot of water. I had to drink a whole bottle of Miralax in Gatorade plus drink some other OTC liquid. Plan on spending all day at home, near the bathroom! You also have to stop eating certain things a few days before, than just a liquid diet, and then, no food right before. I can't remember exactly how it went, but something like that.
I know this was like seven years ago, but I’m having my first colonoscopy and I was a little skeptic at first, but then I found out they can sedate me so I’m on board with that. I’d rather be sleeping than being awake and what they’re doing. Bring on the cocktail 😌
Hello Katie. I am up for the camera up the Jacksie next week, May 23rd 2024. I have had it done once before but can't remember when, but I recall the the buildup was grim and the latest prep solution sounds disgusting, even if it is supposed to be mango flavour. Routine health checks around my recent 66th birthday, including a FIT test, showed tiny traces of blurd, so off to the hospital of doom (NNUH) I go. Hardest thing will be the hunger, I don't do well without fude, having reactive hypoglycaemia, so I will probably suck a dextrose tablet or two to stop myself fainting. Glad to hear yours went well, and hoping mine isn't the start of something truly awful. Peace out.
I know this is from 7 years ago but I’m about to go for my first one and this vlog has really helped me, I have major anxiety disorder and I’m so scared but you’ve helped me understand more what it’s like and I have the exact same prep package as you, thank you so much for making this video it’s still helping people 7 years on 💖✨
I am doing my prep now.. it's so important to see other young folks going through this and sharing this as well! it's a real health struggle and I get a lot of flack from coworkers with. Being in the bathroom alot for a long time.
I rarely comment on youtube but I feel strongly inclined to tell you that I think you are super brave and strong and I really admire you for that! I hope your results will be good :)
I am so glad that the prep has drastically changed. At least you get to use Fruit drinks, apple juice or lemonade with the powder. Tastes great! I hope that you are doing fine now. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I have reached the ripe old age of 68 3/4 without a colonoscopy for fear of the prep. Now I am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy in three days and watching your video has calmed me A LOT.
I had an endoscopy a few weeks back because I have Coeliac disease but no one knows what else is wrong with me :( hope everything gets a bit better with you x
I hope it all goes okay lovely! Honestly it was fine, I was under local anaesthetic so don't remember too much, just had a very sore throat and stomach for a few days afterwards. Barely any needles involved so don't panic!! xx
I'm a student nurse and did a 6 week placement in endoscopy! Loved it from the nursing side but its so interesting to hear it from a patient perspective!😊 thanks for sharing your experience!
A was send 2 letters with 2 lots of this stuff coz my endoscopy was ment for the afternoon but they called and said its been change to 9:30 in the morning so ave only taking the 1st lot with 3 packets in it I haven't eating from Friday so am hoping the 1st lot will DO
Just found your video 4 years on & I'm so thankful I did, with everything I've read & seen its made my anxiety so high. I have an appointment to get a colonoscopy done in the beginning of April 2022 & I'm so scared, but after hearing your experience its given me hope that doing the prep wasn't as bad as you thought & the procedure won't be painful etc. Thank you for being so open & honest about your experience 🙌 so stoked I found this video years later!!
You will be ok… I’m having my colonoscopy tomorrow and Iv taken the first lot of bowel prep this evening! The worst part so far is the bloated mess and having to up and down every couple of minutes 🤣🤣
The poison that you need to drink before the colonoscopy Oh My God . I wouldn't wish it on my enemy 🙁🙁 I still remember feeling sick on EVERY SINGLE SIP 😳😳
I have had 8 colonoscopies and the BEST colon prep is Miralax mixed with 64 ounces of lemon line Gatorade. Tastes like a summertime drink !!! I don't know why some docs make their patients drink that other AWFUL prep that I keep hearing about. !!! Anyone reading this should ask their doc to PLEASE PERSCRIBE the MIRALAX/ GATORADE PREP !! It works GREAT !!!!
i know you had this 7 years ago and hope you are healed now, but i still think this is so relevant today, i was very anxious and couldn't manage the movi prep last time. this is my second attempt now, and starting clear liquids tomorrow and procedure in 2 days after, its the lack of food that failed me last time as i just kept falling asleep, not drinking enough, so thank you so much for this vlog, very funny and helpful and don't feel so lonely. a bit more confident now, bless you .
26/F with Crohns for 18 yrs Your facility informed you quite properly! Your prep meal guide is spot on. I wasn't given much instruction only- Dont eat solids past midnight the night before your prep day, only clear liquids the entire day of prep, take the laxative in the evening and the morning before. It is 2pm the day before my colonoscopy, my last meal was 9pm last night and included steak. This will be my 3rd colonoscopy and fuck do I wish i had found this video 2 days ago if not before my first colonoscopy! and YES being so hungry makes me nauseous. Your video put a more positive view on this, realistic yet relate able and funny-no Hilarious! I needed to see this, I've been pity-partying all morning and I needed to quit my shit! ;P Thank you, honestly you're a riot!
ahhh you are so brave and I'm so glad you vlogged the experience since there is such stigma towards bowel issues in general so thank you!! I have Crohn's disease and had to have a colonoscopy in September and immediately got told I had severe disease (lol didn't see that coming). And 7 months later, I am lots better! So even if you do get a disappointing diagnosis, there will be loads of support and treatment options for you. Wishing you loads of luck whatever happens xxx
I really appreciate you vlogging this experience. IBD and all the things that come with it including colonoscopies seem really taboo to talk about so it's really refreshing to see a video like this :) I had my first colonoscopy almost 2 years ago, a little while after I had to have 16inches of bowel removed thanks to Crohn's Disease. I wish I'd seen something like this to have put me at ease because I was a distraught mess going for mine haha. Wishing you all the best when you get your results back!
I feel fortunate to not have my bowel removed, but I still have it. I had my first colonoscopy when I was 6, but all was okay, I was diagnosed with UC so its not that bad, but its still a lifelong problem of mine
I had an endoscopy today!! I decided to watch some videos after I had it done for more information about this stuff. The endoscopy was nothing to worry about I remember going into the room and falling asleep, then waking up in a different room!! 💓💓
i'm having my colonoscopy and endoscopy in a few weeks to check for ibd as well and was having a lot of anxiety about it but i found this video so helpful! it's eased my mind sooo much, thank you so much for being so open and sweet! xx
Hi Katie! The idea of you asking the gastroenterologist if he'd perform his own colonoscopy is hilarious! Quick note, for clarity and to alleviate any concern for viewers: you say you were glad to have sedation due to the biopsies taken - biopsies don't hurt, as there are no nerve endings in the colon... would be more of a slight "pop" sensation, as opposed to pain. Also, you were exactly right in saying the colon has an enormous surface area. Great video, thanks for sharing. Ulcerative Colitis patient here :) Hope your results are negative.
sabbie I have ulcerative colitis as well and always get general anesthesia for my colonoscopies because they are incredibly painful for me(my disease is quite advanced and severe) and I can always tell that they have done biopsies because it kind of burns and hurts..kind of like the same feeling as a mouth ulcer except in your stomach if that makes any sense...I think it depends on the person and the diagnoses whether you can feel them or not
I had my first colonoscopy about twenty years ago and without anesthetic. It was so painful! The doctor kept pushing the oscopy camera very roughly upwards. I did have a lot of small ulcers which were removed but the whole procedure was horrible. I have had endoscopes and colonoscopies since then and an anesthetic is always given now. Worst part is the prep.!!
In the US we are out completely..last thing I remember is telling the anesthesiologist "I don't feel anything..." and then waking up in recovery. The prep is terrible.
Today is the day before my procedure and I was really scared. But then I came upon this video and it made me feel a little bit better. Especially seeing how you are afterwards and how you say you feel like nothing happened besides a bruised hand made me feel so much better. Thank you for this video.
The main tip is when you think its done, it’s not done.. there’s always 2 or 3 small ‘grand finale’ trips to the loo you’ll need to do.. so when it’s gone more than an hour or so without movement you’ll be safe to venture out.. I did it with no sedation and it greatly reduces the time you’ll be hospital, I was in and out within an hour and a half, it’ll be double that with sedation. I wouldn’t describe it as pain, more just an uncomfortable sensation (mainly when they go around the bends) but everyone’s different I guess. Good luck all and don’t panic, the second it’s done you’ll be so pleased you did it.
@Theycallmecrybabycrybaby Butidon’tfuckingcare Everyone is different, as a child it might be an idea to have sedation as I'm guessing your Mum or Dad will be there to take you home. I didn't have anyone to collect me so that's why I decided to do it without so I could drive myself home, you can't drive for 48 hours if you have sedation. I wish you all the best you'll be ok. It's not as bad as you think it is and you'll be relieved once it's all done and go and have a nice big meal!.
@Theycallmecrybabycrybaby Butidon’tfuckingcare Try not to overthink it, as you've read from most people on here once they've had it done they almost wonder why they were so worried about it!. If you do have it done hopefully you'll be the same and you might be able to reassure someone else in the future. Hope the meds sort it out anyway all the best.
I’ve had two and I was very anxious about the first time because you don’t know what you don’t know. Your documentation of the process is perfect and I wish I could have seen it before the first time. I sent it to my friend who is having his first next Friday. Thank you. Mwah!
I'm sure you'll find a roommate quickly, you seem like you'd be a cool person to live with. Thanks for making a honest medical vlog, it's inspiring and they're so valuable for anyone going through the same thing I find.
Thankyou! Seriously I'm so grateful for you making this video for others. I'm doing my bowel prep tomorrow for my Colonoscopy on Friday. I've had Gastrointestinal bleeds for nearly a year and use the loo many times in a day, so the prep wasn't my worry. It was the procedure I wasn't looking forward too. I've opted for sedation too. I'm quite highly strung so it takes a lot to calm me. Knowing your procedure went well, quickly and you had laugh whilst it was taking place has totally calmed my fears/worries. So thankyou ❤️ Here's to Friday and finally getting some answers x
Thank you for this vlog. Today is Saturday and I am having a colonoscopy on Tuesday. I’ve been wondering and worrying about it and then I found your vlog. Thank you for your honesty and for being genuine. I’m a new friend from across the pond in the US and I’ve subscribed to you. I hope you are happy, healthy, and well. ♥️
Not being able to eat and drink waiting for surgery/procedures is literal torture 😭 when I had my appendix out I did 3 days without either as they kept pushing me to the next day and I was just past hangry and into catatonic 😂 hope you're feeling better now loved this you're so brave ❤️
im due to have my first one next week and too stay im nervous as heck is an understatment.....im gratefull you vlogged your experience its very helpfull i requested sedation as i have anxiety issues and frightened i wont cope during it.
Being a younger viewer, you are such an inspiration to me! You are completely honest in the hopes that you're helping others that have gone through the same sort of things. You are completely genuine as well and such a pleasure to watch. Currently I am going through acne, I have been taking medications since I was 10 (I am currently 14). Your roaccutane vlogs and skincare videos have really helped me keep my skin under control and in a much better condition. Thank you so much for making these types of videos because they really do help. I'm a massive fan 😀
I'm about to have one tomorrow and am currently prepping. I was freaking out about it until this video, thank you. I can't believe you were awake for it!! I think I'm going to stress to them tomorrow that I don't want to remember a thing and hopfully that won't be a problem. Thanks again for documenting this, it really helps to calm me down.
Thank you.... I have this procedure first thing in the morning, including an endoscopy as well. Wish me luck. I feel less worried now. So I appreciate the "heads up" in your blog.
I am so grateful to you for this vlog, I spoke with my consultant today who is trying to convince me I need a colonoscopy, I was really worried, not about the procedure but the prep before, I am terrified of pooping myself, at 64 years of age I am a wreck. Thank you, I will be going ahead with the procedure thanks to you.
Thank you so much for sharing and being so honest about your preparation and your experience with the procedure.. I’m super nervous about getting it done and hoping I won’t mess up , thanks again sweetie and I hope all is well with the biopsy.. god bless you and your family
I did on yesterday! I'm in a wheelchair so they admitted me for the Moviprep. I'm a big woose so I did it without sedation. 5 minutes, no biopsies, nothing. The prep is horrific. The nurses changed my bed 4 times and I went through about 20 bed pans. I had an endoscopy last year too, again no sedation. It wasn't bad at all!
Thank you Katie. Its 5.45 am and I'm having my second MOVIPREP (wildly exciting) ready for later on. I hope all went well with your examination. Much love and take care of yourself xx
I can't express how much I appreciate you posting this video, I know you must've been hesitant about what people may think. I've had a few colonoscopies and the part I find the worst is the prep. There's one type of it I can't take as I just throw it back up and the other I still really struggled with. I think it's important for people to be aware of how the process goes, not just a few sentences on a piece of paper. Thanks lovely x
I have IBD and I wish there had been some more videos like this during the time I had to get my first colonoscopy as it would've really helped me feel less alone. Well done for being so honest and telling your story. I hope you are well and you get results back soon
Good evening I’m due to have a colonoscopy done on Tuesday I’m dreading it I should’ve had it done within 2 weeks but it’s been 6 weeks I’m dreading the stuff as it’s awful I remember you talking about the biopsy that I’m dreading as I had 13 biopsies taken for my prostate which turned out to have 8 of them come back as cancerous I can honestly say that when they took the biopsies each one felt like a stapler being pushed I barely eat anything at the moment and have lost 5 stone over the past few years thank you for your blog I can sympathise with what you have said thank you for the advice
I've recently had to do loads of tests to do with food allergies and bloating and things but I also have a phobia of being sick and I was SO SCARED that I was gonna have to have the camera down the throat thing (thankfully not) and it's actually been really helpful for me watching these videos, hope everything goes well for you :)
I have one scheduled for a week from Wednesday. I have to be there at 7:30 AM. The center is an hour away. I have to do the 4 liter prep. It is like drinking ocean water. I have to drink it all over four hours . This will be my fifth or sixth colonoscopy. Like you I have had symptoms that concerned them so I have to go every five years. I too found after the exam the worst part. The air left in causes cramping. The nurses all say go ahead and let it out, but very difficult in a room full of people. Oh well, it will be over in another week .
I have severe emetophobia! This bowel prep would be too triggering for me, which sucks coz I need a colonoscopy too but I'm too anxious about feeling sick from it because vomiting is my worst fear
I think I'm SO adamant that nothing will make me sick, that I didn't feel at all nauseous whilst doing the bowel prep, even drinking it - it wasn't nice but didn't make me feel sick at all! You can do it xx
katiesnooks laurenxelise I had pretty severe emetophobia as a child and teenager. I got diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at 17 and had tons of procedures, including loads of colonoscopy preps, barium x rays and never threw up once. I think emetophobic people often have a super human ability *not* to vomit! It was only when I had complications from surgery that I ended up being very, very sick and it was possibly the best thing that could have happened because I realised there was actually nothing to fear! I'm 31 now and I would say it's no longer a phobia anymore. Bit of an extreme cure but it worked 😂 😊
Katie Snooks starting my bowel prep tomorrow and I also have severe emetophobia, I do know people who have had this laxative and been fine..butI also heard it can make you really sick...this is the comment I really needed to put a little bit of faith in the terrible drink. Thank you so much! Fingers crossed it stays down!!😳x
I have Ulcerative Colitis which is a form of IBD and this was so interesting to watch (I'm from Australia) and the difference between the NHS and the way it works here
Im so nervous to go for mine, I have to go for my first colonoscopy and endoscopy. There is a chance I have IBD as well. Let us know what the results are!
you can drink electrolytes like gatorade, water, lemonaide apple juice, sprite, 7up, or ginger ale (on your no solid food day). this is the day before your appointment
When I had one of these done when they were trying to put me under the sedatives I was already out of it and I was trying to slap the doctors away and they called my mom in and told her that they thought that I was a fighter because of my red hair.
i was told to add cyrstal lite powder (not red, purple, or blue). you can add this to your drink. they say get various flavors, was not told to drink anything else in the process. or suck on a lemon in between sips
By the time of my appt I will have had no real food for THIRTY SIX HOURS. Had to stop eating at midnight this morning... Sunday, my appt isn't till 1 pm Monday.
there have been links actually with Roaccutane and IBD. I came off a 5 month course in January and I must say, during my course I definitely had altered bowel movements and was very uncomfortable digestive wise after eating.. it seems to have lessened a lot now though. hopefully your all good!
I have my second one in November and have IBS and Diverticular Disease. I went camping last month and bled really badly from my bottom. I too had an examination and now it's back to the MoviPrep. I hope your problems are solved xxx
What symptoms did you have before you ended up having to get an endoscopy?? I'm having digestive issues but have no idea what it could be and the doctors haven't been helpful so far 😩
Anna - I've had colonoscopies since I'm four and I can tell you that if your tummy gets like a balloon after you eat, you should visit your gastrointestinal Doctor asap.
Hello your video was so helpful! I drank the first laxative drink and it was so nasty. Just under 1 hr and I've been on the toilet non stop! Now I'm feeling hungry too and you can't eat! Did you need to take your own dressing gown and slippers to hospital? I'm so scared for my procedure tomorrow!
Hi huge thanks for vlogging about this. I'm due to go for a colonoscopy. unlike you mine has been rushed through. watching this has made it a little less scary to deal with.
Thank you, Katie, for taking the time to do this. Some year's back, I had an endoscopy and colonscopy and was put under, but sadly, they did not wait for me to fall asleep and I felt the tube go into my bottom and reacted and it caused a fissure, which is excruiating, but after 2 year's, I succeeded in healing it myself. Anyway, hugely appreicated with your video on the prep, because I did not realise I could make the taste better and so, endure the awful taste; but did not have to take the last bit, due to a clean toilet, which was confirmed in hospital.
Thank you so much for posting this! I start bowel prep tomorrow for my first colonoscopy, and the procedure the day after, so I'm super nervous. I'm glad I can watch videos like this so I have some idea of what to expect.
I have a SERIOUS sickness phobia and yes being hungry can make me feel sick. I had bowel prep last year, it was just the texture and taste of the drinks that made me heave after it was down there was no nausea. I wasn't actually aware that I was going to the toilet during the night...not nice.
Had mine yesterday. Still sore. Prep was worst part and had blood after 5 polips removed. Honestly the prep was the worst part for me but I tried Ginger beer like you said and it helped alot. Have to do it all over again in January.... Oh well😀
I'm due for my colonoscopy tomorrow and watching your blog has really helped. I'm still super nervous but now I know what to expect. Thanks for the blog 🙂
Crohns can hide. It's only ever really given as a definitive diagnosis when the disease is in an active flare, causing the inside o the bowel to look like a cobblestone street as well as making inflammation, abcesses, fistulas, ulcers, and strictures. I had a colonoscopy and the GI said at most he thought I had IBS (in April) but major flare resulting in 3 more surgeries beginning in early June, mid July & early August. I got the "definitive diagnosis" 5 years later after another flare resulting in another surgery. Doctors don't know everything. Be well.
im doing prep for my colonoscopy and upper endoscopy tomorrow morning... I had the same done 3 years and 1 month ago but it sucks. thank goodness I'm heavily sedated and completely asleep. hope all is well. I been sick and now unexplained weight loss has started the past couple months and they can't find what is wrong so I have been suffering for nearly a decade. I hope they find what is wrong tomorrow!!! Best wishes
Glad I found your video. I've got my prep day tomorrow and my colonoscopy on Friday along with a gastroscopy as well. You've helped put my mind at ease. Thank you!
Just back from my colonoscopy today. I have the sort of metabolism where i get quite sick if i don't eat regularly. So the big tough guy that i am crumbled like a big girl scout over the last couple of days. All finished now and i thank all the gods in the world collectively.
This video is so so helpful for breaking down stigma, thank you Katie! My sister has ulcerative colitis and its such an unspoken illness. I agree with so many of these comments, its so refreshing to see someone as real as you on UA-cam. xxx
I had my colonoscopy 2day ago it was very easy with little or no sedation I was awake the entire procedure which last for 10 mints if not less ,, the reason was internal & external Hemorrhoids. The annoying part was the prep only ,, but overall it was pretty easy and quick. Good luck to you all . Thanks for the helpful vid. Bless you .
Thank you so much for this. I’m off for my pre assessment tomorrow and before watching this I had pretty much decided that I didn’t want the procedure but after watching I feel so much better about the whole thing x
I've never been on accutane, but I just did a little research and it seems there is a connection between accutane and getting ulcerative colitis which is like crohns. That's pretty scary!!! But as far as I am aware one medication wouldn't just cause IBD but may make you more likely to trigger it as it's an auto immune disorder. X
Si eu am boala crohn și la anul trebuie să fac am facut acum 7 ani adica cand aveam 6 ani și urmeaza la anul că se face o dată la 8 ani si la anul se fac 8 ani eu am rezistat super bine la procedura am facut 2
Thank you for sharing! I think we all are scared of this unknown procedure; nobody talks about it. You were obviously scared, but it turned out just fine. Knowledge is power. You made me feel more at ease. Hope others watch and commit to doing this when they are asked. God bless and hope you get good news!
Thank you so much for this video, i've got a colonoscopy coming up, looking for the exact the same reason as yours, I am so nervous because so many people were saying that's painful, so it's nice to see someone actually saying that it isn't as bad as you think, you've taken a lot of my anxiety away so i'm not as scared as I was to have it now : )
Thanks so much for making this and posting it! I'm having an endoscopy and colonoscopy in 2 weeks. Your video is this first non-medical one I found, and it was very informative and comforting. It's given me an idea of what to expect. I'm from the US and had never heard of "squash" in reference to a drink, so that also intrigued me, haha. Thanks again!
I have ulcerative colitis, a form of IBD, so I've had a few colonoscopies and I've been sedated for all of them. The first time I'd lost so much weight that I fell asleep and woke up a while after they had finished. I was completely out of it, had to rest my head on the wall next to me because I couldn't even keep it up by myself, and I kept saying stupid stuff. It was hilarious 😂 For me the worst part is the prep. I hate the taste (mine is Citrafleet, it tastes like fake orange and it's fizzy ew), I hate that I can't eat and I hate that I can't drink for a few hours, which is why I always try to get the appointment early in the morning. During the last one I had I was freaking out because for some reason the Citrafleet wasn't working properly and I was emptying myself, and I was scared that they wouldn't be able to see anything and I'd had to repeat the whole thing. It's not the most pleasant experience, but at least I have some kind of story to tell afterwards 😂
Love hearing someone talking so openly about this, I had an endoscopy last week as I've been having similar symptoms. Unfortunately they couldn't see anything but they have taken 4 biopsies from my small intestine, and I'm still waiting for the results on them. Hopefully they don't find anything bad from yours and that you feel better soon! Xx
Katie!!! I've had exactly the same thing, and I was told from my dermatologist that it was a side effect from taking roaccutane. I've been on roaccutane since December and have had really horrid digestion problems. the doctors say I have IBS-(irritable bowel syndrome), and I have had to turn gluten and dairy free because of it. Its been tough, but its definitely working! One of my friends who has been on roaccutsne has also had the same problems xx
I know this was made 6 years ago, but I just had my very first colonoscopy a few days ago. I appreciate videos like this that explain everything and how they're feeling. I know in the U.S. they gave me full sedation so I was knocked out during. I dunno how I"d react if I was just gassed and loopy but awake. The next day was the worst. Felt like all my intestines and my bumhole was painful. I also had a little blood on the tissue afterward and some biopsies. BTW you're very pretty. :) thanks for sharing.
Props to you for always being so honest in the hopes that you will help others. Acne, health issues, relationship things, your flaws, whatever. Young girls especially are lucky there is someone on UA-cam like you!
thank you for your imput on this . Im 74 yrs old and going in for my first procedure and quite nervous . Your video has comforted me a lot -
Good luck, I hope it goes well. I have mine in 3 days and also really nervous
Prep is tge hardest jow ever im going to cheat this time and start clear liquids afew days before So my stool will run clear sooner and not have to suffer so much with bowel prep
@@valeriemea did that work
I will have my first time tomorrow and today I am preparing for it, hopefully everything will be fine 🙏🙏
Eugene...im 64...how did it go a year ago? Its 10-21-22 and I go in for a Endoscopy/Colonoscopy on Monday 10-21-22... very nervous. After all done for you..how did it go? Thanks🙋♀️🙂 God bless!
Sitting here drinking my prep while watching videos like this 😂
Tawnee Tyler same! 😂
Same here lol
same
Patrick Star good luck! I just had it and it was not that bad
same hahah

Ah bless hope you ok and coping much better !!! xxx I’m having endscopy and conoscopy 😪 god I’m nervous
N K Did you have yours done? I need both procedures too
I just had my first colonoscopy yesterday and unlike your experience, I was completely sedated for the entire procedure so I knew nothing of what went on and I am happy about that!
I have to have a colonoscopy next week 😩
Is prep was hard ??
@@emanaliemanarshad1140 Not hard, but definitely not fun! There are different prep methods, just depends on what your doctor does. I know this was like seven years ago, but I’m having my first colonoscopy and I was a little skeptic at first, but then I found out they can sedate me so I’m on board with that. I’d rather be sleeping than being awake and what they’re doing. Bring on the cocktail 😌
“Weeing out your bumhole” - 100% accurate description 😂
Haha honestly this is just a perfect description! I'm going through this now!
I've had IBD over three years now, and I hope people would talk about it more.
It’s hard isn’t it I have crohns
@@rapidrunner9522 it is :(
The more people who talk about it the better. I've just shared my story on my channel
elisatalvi I have ibs
@@xero_3927 a scope )): I have one next week and im scared,, I might have ibd too so ):
I rarely comment on youtube but I feel strongly inclined to tell you that I think you are super brave and strong and I really admire you for that! I hope your results will be good :)
Thank you so, so much. Comments like this make everything worth doing! xxxxx
Today is my bowel prep day ,,,,Am basically in the toilet while typing this 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes I feel so sick when I'm hungry!
Rachel Knott Same😒
I had an endoscopy a few weeks back because I have Coeliac disease but no one knows what else is wrong with me :( hope everything gets a bit better with you x
Emily Anna I have one on Wednesday. I am so nervous! I am dreadful with needles and I have bad anxiety. How was it?? X
I hope it all goes okay lovely! Honestly it was fine, I was under local anaesthetic so don't remember too much, just had a very sore throat and stomach for a few days afterwards. Barely any needles involved so don't panic!! xx
Emily Anna I have coeliac too
I'm a student nurse and did a 6 week placement in endoscopy!
26/F with Crohns for 18 yrs
Your facility informed you quite properly!
I needed to see this, I've been pity-partying all morning and I needed to quit my shit! ;P
Thank you, honestly you're a riot!
ahhh you are so brave and I'm so glad you vlogged the experience since there is such stigma towards bowel issues in general so thank you!!
This comment gave me a lot of hope! Mine is tomorrow and I’m scared to hear what the results are. Thanks for sharing!
@Antonia_1509 I hope you are doing well now sweetheart ❤
I really appreciate you vlogging this experience. IBD and all the things that come with it including colonoscopies seem really taboo to talk about so it's really refreshing to see a video like this :) I had my first colonoscopy almost 2 years ago, a little while after I had to have 16inches of bowel removed thanks to Crohn's Disease. I wish I'd seen something like this to have put me at ease because I was a distraught mess going for mine haha. Wishing you all the best when you get your results back!
Curlyteeth Best of luck to you love. My cousin's daughter was diagnosed with Crohn's at 18 and also had to have part of her colon removed.
I feel fortunate to not have my bowel removed, but I still have it. I had my first colonoscopy when I was 6, but all was okay, I was diagnosed with UC so its not that bad, but its still a lifelong problem of mine
Do you have time to talk about your experience?
My biggest fear is vomiting also. I thought I was the only one. I have a colonoscopy next week and am terrified!
maria rizzo vomiting is my #1 fear. You're not alone!!
maria rizzo me tomorrow i really cant drink the prep water uhuhuhu it keeps me vomit
Did you end up vomiting?
I'm taking one today it'll be my second one so I'm ready for it
Omg me too that’s my worst fear and also needles 🤦🏻♀️
In the US we are out completely..last thing I remember is telling the anesthesiologist "I don't feel anything..." and then waking up in recovery. The prep is terrible.
I have one on Friday and honestly, this is so reassuring, thank you so much. I know its from a few years ago but I really appreciate it
Today is the day before my procedure and I was really scared.
So thankyou ❤️
Here's to Friday and finally getting some answers x
Thank you for this vlog. Today is Saturday and I am having a colonoscopy on Tuesday. I’ve been wondering and worrying about it and then I found your vlog. Thank you for your honesty and for being genuine. I’m a new friend from across the pond in the US and I’ve subscribed to you. I hope you are happy, healthy, and well. ♥️
How are uh now
Not being able to eat and drink waiting for surgery/procedures is literal torture 😭 when I had my appendix out I did 3 days without either as they kept pushing me to the next day and I was just past hangry and into catatonic 😂 hope you're feeling better now loved this you're so brave ❤️
I'm in the states but thankful for your informative video. Glad you're ok.
I'm obsessed with your hair
Thank you!
im due to have my first one next week and too stay im nervous as heck is an understatment.....im gratefull you vlogged your experience its very helpfull i requested sedation as i have anxiety issues and frightened i wont cope during it.
I couldn't fart for fear of shitting myself 😂😂😂
Kate Carmichael i had a colon prep for a surgery and pooped myself half an hour before. All part of my disability- delayed bodily function
🤣🤣🤣🤣 great way to scare the shit out of me lol
Wear depends briefs!
I have Crohn's Disease and I would have loved to have this video when I was first diagnosed, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for doing this!! I have mine tomorrow and you've made me feel so much better xxx
Finishing my 2nd round of prep right now and you made me laugh out loud about not trusting a fart. I needed a laugh.
Good luck I had my colonoscopy on Wednesday had gas & air the preps are horrible mine was plenvu 🤮
I had Plenvu myself, the worst thing I've ever tasted
@ yes it is I don’t know why they make them so sugary
Thank you so much for sharing and being so honest about your preparation and your experience with the procedure.. I’m super nervous about getting it done and hoping I won’t mess up , thanks again sweetie and I hope all is well with the biopsy.. god bless you and your family
I had an endoscopy and I remember nothing about it. I was so anxious about it but I was asleep during it.
Thank you for this! It has been the most helpful of all the related UA-cam videos.
Bit of an extreme cure but it worked 😂 😊
maybe try with a straw -- perhaps a bit more tolerable; just do it in the time frame they require
i.e. drink the prep in the time frame required
Nurse Girly how’d it go? I need both of these procedures also
How did it go? Im having both procedures done next week😩 so nervous!
you can drink electrolytes like gatorade, water, lemonaide apple juice, sprite, 7up, or ginger ale (on your no solid food day). this is the day before your appointment
Thank you for making this video. Even if it was a few years ago..it's a blessing for me today..❤
My specialist said I have to get this done and the throat one, I blank refused to do it. Good video with plenty of info.
This is honestly making me feel so much better. THANK YOU for vlogging this.
This is so helpful thank you!!! I'm having one soon (waiting for my appointment) and I'm so scared this helped lots thank youuuu
Be well.
Thank you for this. I was terrified before watching , youve made it so much easier xx
im doing prep for my colonoscopy and upper endoscopy tomorrow morning... Best wishes
I’m having the same procedure soon! And this really helped me thank you
Glad I found your video. I've got my prep day tomorrow and my colonoscopy on Friday along with a gastroscopy as well. You've helped put my mind at ease. Thank you!
I’m having this soon as I’ve got suspected ulcerative colitis :/ I’m so nervous :(
Just back from my colonoscopy today. I have the sort of metabolism where i get quite sick if i don't eat regularly. So the big tough guy that i am crumbled like a big girl scout over the last couple of days. All finished now and i thank all the gods in the world collectively.
“I couldn’t fart... for fear of shitting myself” best part of the video haha
Bless you .
Was it painful?
ThatLastMinute Kid no not at all very easy and quick
How long do you have to stay on the toilet for? Is it the whole day or a few hours?
Thank you so much for this. I’m off for my pre assessment tomorrow and before watching this I had pretty much decided that I didn’t want the procedure but after watching I feel so much better about the whole thing x
So glad you vlogged this! I have Crohn's disease which is a form of IBD. I have these once a year at least and no one understands the pain 😂
well my friend had the same issue and she was on accutane too :/
I've never been on accutane, but I just did a little research and it seems there is a connection between accutane and getting ulcerative colitis which is like crohns. That's pretty scary!!! But as far as I am aware one medication wouldn't just cause IBD but may make you more likely to trigger it as it's an auto immune disorder. X
I know how u feel I have crohns its the worst disease ever live in constant pain stomach pain is the worst pain ever 😥
My 14 yo daughter found this extremely helpful as she's preparing for the same soon. Thanks for keeping it real!!!
Thank you so much for this video, i've got a colonoscopy coming up, looking for the exact the same reason as yours, I am so nervous because so many people were saying that's painful, so it's nice to see someone actually saying that it isn't as bad as you think, you've taken a lot of my anxiety away so i'm not as scared as I was to have it now : )
Paris97 how was yours?
Thank you for sharing all the details with us. You're very strong and brave. I wish you the best of luck! xxx
Andrea Courtney I know this is from a year ago, but I gotta get both done too. How is it?
I have ulcerative colitis, a form of IBD, so I've had a few colonoscopies and I've been sedated for all of them. The first time I'd lost so much weight that I fell asleep and woke up a while after they had finished. I was completely out of it, had to rest my head on the wall next to me because I couldn't even keep it up by myself, and I kept saying stupid stuff. It was hilarious 😂
For me the worst part is the prep.
Sonia González Great attitude! Humor gets us through a lot in life.👍
Sonia González 9
i also have it too i had a few sigmoidoscopy colonoscopy and an endoscopy
Love hearing someone talking so openly about this, I had an endoscopy last week as I've been having similar symptoms. Unfortunately they couldn't see anything but they have taken 4 biopsies from my small intestine, and I'm still waiting for the results on them. Hopefully they don't find anything bad from yours and that you feel better soon! Xx
Mari Rees how are endoscopies? I have to have one and I’m scared
wish I could have told you before this! using a straw makes it so much easier. and I was allowed to suck boiled sweets which really helped.
Love that you shared this, sweet girl!
