Even IF you actually are a victim of unfavorable circumstances, looking at yourself as a victim will only anchor you to whatever situation you're in.

    • @bvdek
      @bvdek Рік тому +67

It does that by initiating a perception of impotence... being a victim is hard to nullify cos it's 'been done to you' from an external source, but being a fuk up can be improved upon dramatically without anyone else, cos it's up to you. That's how I think of it anyway, psychological judo - taking back power over the situation.

@@groglorb8980 Some ppl need help to get up, especially if they've been hurt in the fall.
We as strong men (and women) in a supportive community should provide that help to those who need and want it. That's what's important, is that someone wants to do better with/for themselves and their lives. Nothing wrong with needing support, asking for help, or giving it. In fact, quite the contrary, it shows strength.

@@bvdek definitely, asking for help and relying on others is no weakness. It's when the point of it becomes the spectacle and the complaining it's an issue. And sadly those that just want to cause a rukus drown out the genuine calls for aid. But yeah I totally agree with your point, perhaps I worded that a little badly.

I'm a retired machinist and mechanical engineer. One thing I learned from my father as I apprenticed under him, was accepting the right responsibility. When the company has a problem, it's the company's problem, not yours. It's YOUR JOB to fix the problem. That instilled attitude always kept me calm during company "disasters" and I was able to stay focused on the job at hand.

As a youth counselor I found too many cases where the parents treat punishment as responsibility, so the kids grow up to treat responsibility as a punishment. This has blinded many people to the truth that responsibility is a gift that nobody can take away from you. It is part of your fundamental autonomy and intrinsically it can never be lost, stolen, or broken. Whatever you choose it is your ability to respond. Embracing responsibility as a gift is integral to healing and discovering your autonomy. Thank you for this relaxed and peaceful video that fits the simplicity of the message well.

I grew up in foster care, and I was punished in this manner. They drilled it in me when I was a young kid around 9 years old, that I needed to take responsibility. And honestly, I had no clue what they were talking about. All I knew is I missed my family, foster care was a nightmare for me, and I wanted an exit...and I couldn't find it. While trapped in a helpless state of existence, all I heard was "stop feeling sorry for yourself and take responsibility". All the while, my environment was extremely rigid, so I didn't really understand what take responsibility meant. What choice did I have in anything? I guess for me it meant suffer quietly and do as your told. I teeter tottered between self destructive behaviors and outright rebellion. I'm doing better today, I know better now, but it was a long treacherous road to healing.

Bro, it wasn't that long ago that an entire family could survive off one honest paycheck, especially in a qualified trade like a boilermaker or machinist. That's how they could manage housewives/hubbys, cos one honest job would feed a family. Greed is outta control, the distribution of capital is way outta whack. Our culture sells us this image of ourselves as hard working honorable ppl, which u clearly are, but it's used as a rose tint on the reality... that is, we are being milked fuking dry in this late stage capitalism bs, because the cats with the resources and capital see the volatility and inevitable change coming - they tryna milk it for as much n as long as they can.
No man, especially not in the wealthiest country in the world (Aus has highest avg wage per capita btw) should have to work multiple jobs, ontop of already highly skilled, physical and dangerous work like you do, just to feed his family. It's fukn disgusting, and no amount of hollywood fairytale ego-stroking & self-perception washing changes that. Sorry bro, you should be living very comfortably, and it's absolutely NOT a matter of lack of resources, or lack of input on your part. The system is failing ppl like you, and ya buy into it with pride. I get self pride is better than self pity, but don't delude yourself dude.
Having said that, good on you for still doing what u gotta to make ends meet, I do respect that. I understand you don't have the luxury to complain. I just don't think it's right, and certainly doesn't needa be this way. Inflation is out of control and it's not hard to find the reason for it but I'm still expecting this year to be my best year ever. People always see success and say how nice it must be but they don't talk about the 10 or 15 years of suffering in the trenches they were not willing to do to get there. Lots of people have great ambitions but no one is ready to take responsibility for the failures. It is exhausting and I hardly have time for family let alone chores or "free time". I have had 4 days off total in the last 4 months. I don't think 2-3 jobs is a great plan long-term for anyone to remain in sync physically/mentally/socially.

There are and innumerable number of news articles, economic articles out there, and one can find an article that will say whatever one wants to hear. The trick is to read the articles from both sides, and interpret that through one’s own experience and personal knowledge and observations. Anyone who simply forms her opinions based on articles written by an anonymous person is not being wise. To say that I am unread, misinformed, biased and ignorant because I come to a different conclusion based on the evidence that I see than you have come to is not helpful. That is a major difference between the two sides of the aisle. I had an uncle who I adored. He was the best role model I could ever ask for. He was taken way too soon and I have been gutted ever since.
You remind me a lot of him and I’m so glad I found your channel. Thanks for all you do. Your advice is golden.
    Best wishes.

Here's the thing. We seen this coming. Evertime parent said they all get blue ribbon, sick don't go to school ,teacher can't tell you what to do. My parents said want a ribbon try harder, you're sick stay in bed all day, When you're in school do as your told and we'll talk about when you get home. It's was ever rare that grand parents raised their grandkids full time now it is all most common sense. We need change ! I see other countries and they don't have nothing but they have each other. That's were you start in your own home.

This is what our grandfathers and fathers used to be like. When they spoke we all sat down and listened intently. The best education came from a few chairs on the porch. It breaks my heart that so many never got a chance to experience that. I was so blessed to have strong grandpas, dad, uncles. Full of wisdom. When they all got together and talked on the front porch us kids went silent and just soaked it up. That is something that’s been totally lost today. Mine are all dead and gone now and it’s my turn to pass their wisdom down. But nobody wants to listen

I had seen a couple of your videos a couple months back and would occasionally see one pop up and suggestions it would always take mental note to go to it. Suddenly I stopped seeing your videos and I've been looking for you for about a week and finally remembered last night that you're a Wrangler and that's how I finally found you. I am now subscribed and will be watching your stuff regularly. Thank you for the grown up words that too many soft people hide from these days.

I found your channel just a few days ago, and we're bound to disagree on something (6:20-7:09). Accountability is all good and well and we need more of it in our day-to-day lives. It's true. We need to save up money for when situations go awry in our life or in our society. We need to make sure we have the means to protect and nourish our loved ones. Accountability is a skill set. It's not simply an issue of our time, it's something people past had to learn and people to come will have to learn. Some die never having learned it. Yet, it's something else to have it be a parent's fault if something happened to their children at school. Taking mere accountability isn't going to change this unnatural phenomenon that has become common in America. If God forbid, my child died at school my sitting there and blaming myself for trusting the school system to at the least keep them from death's door isn't helping anything. Hell, that would drive me crazy. There is currently no "civilized" peaceful country that has this same issue we do. It's mind-boggling to the world that such a powerful country has this issue and it isn't something victims should blame themselves for. I'm sure a lot of parents try their best to ensure their children are in a good school, but it's becoming harder and harder to predict which school will fall prey to the next attack. Some consider homeschooling, but not everyone has the luxury to pursue that. I've even thought of moving countries entirely, and that may just happen in the future. There are so many countries to consider.

We fully understand and empathize with this satanic school shootings happening in your nation.
But why this rarest of rate menace only in US of A ? Even though many will not agree with my point, but let me put it bluntly. America has become the worst nation to be in as of today, because of its own evil karma of meddling into all of the world's affairs without any need to only for its own selfish greed of arms sale, creating bases, looting oil etc etc. USA has since ages been creating conflicts between nations, siding with half the world to destroy the other half, using its powerful CIA, FBI and other agencies to destabilize and topple genuinely good rulers and govts of several nations. And all these evil acts only to exploit and snatch whatever your nation could get from others.
Now your own young innocent children are shooting their own brothers and sisters because your nation destroyed too many good people all around the world. Vietnam, Iraq, afganisthan and now bleeding Ukraine by pitching them against the deadly Russians only to push your weapons into Ukraine.
Karma hits back no matter howsoever you try to run away from your bad deeds.

I’m a home schooling mama of 7 kids with 6 of them being boys. My youngest sent me this to listen to and said he thought I’d like it and I’m giving them extra school points when they send me a current topic related to the things we are learning in history and government. Well done sir. Good for my boys to hear this from someone else besides me.

I got four boys and three girls momma, you are not alone. And I concur the same for mine, but all would be better for hearin a role model like this bc some may have not either had one or they had ones that weren't the best role model themselves sadly. I didn't always but am homeschoolin mine as well. Everyone needs to learn that there are consequences for being slothful, as well as the other deadly sins and beatitudes etc, but a lot don't even 'know' Father much less knowing morals other than 'laws'. Too bad they aren't following the laws they should be following. It's a shame satan has infiltrated the lives of so many... :( I worry most about the children...being amongst these time and money changers, twisters of words, emasculating monsters.

Here is a different perspective . I like these videos too. But as they say “shit happen’s”. See My comment. As a home schooler You are or should be aware that Biden and Ilk have a hard-on so to speak for independent minded people. A study of Aldous Huxley and His works especially Brave New World and those of George Orwell should be part of every school’s curriculum. Another little known Gem is The Vigilantes of Montana. Q and A discussion’s on these topics are not only thought provoking but food for thought and contemplation.
