I'm not normally a fan of 5/6 string basses, but Fodera basses are just so cool :)

Thanks a lot for watching my content and for your kind comment. Actually I was playing mostly Bass back in the Days when I was active in the live music scene. But if I calculate there is a ration 30 to 1 Bass/ Guita repairs showing up in my workshop. Therefore Bass Repairs are a bit in the minority on my channel sorry for that... Best Regards Nik

    Hi Nik,
I always look forward to your videos, and this one is no exception. Watching how you work, and how you don't mind taking all the time you need to do it right has encouraged me to work on my own guitars. I credit you for that inspiration.
So far, I have done two fret jobs. The first was on an inexpensive Fender Showmaster guitar, and it turned out fantastic! That took me two weeks, and I revisited a few of your videos to listen to your advice on certain techniques and hacks. It was very helpful. I removed the frets and sanded the fretboard radius from 15" to 12" which is much more comfortable for me, then leveled the neck and installed new frets, leveled them and crowned them all and polished them to a mirror finish. It was hard at first, but I found a rhythm and followed through to the finish. It plays like a dream. I did this with all hand tools, and it was worth it.
The second guitar is my 1983 Fender Elite Stratocaster with a maple neck. I did not re-fret this one, but I did re-crown and polish them since they were pretty flat on top. I will need more experience before I try to re-fret this one since I don't want to ruin the finish on that neck. Once again, I took my time and did everything by hand and that is looking and sounding like a new guitar.
I think I have a small idea of the gratification you must feel after you've done one of your incredible repairs on an old and rare instrument. (That old Fender Jaguar comes to mind).
Thank you for sharing your skill and experience with us.
    Harley
