About InfraSpace:
Produce Everything you Consume
Out on the edges of human space, you can't build a city by spending credits. Instead, you'll have to put your first astronauts to mining work and get some raw materials. Once you have some iron, carbon, sand, and sulfur, it's time to set up your first steel mill and concrete factory to start laying down some infrastructure. Even necessities like food and oxygen require a steady production chain that must not be broken!
Transport Infrastructure
InfraSpace simulates every. single. car. Each resource you ever produce needs to be transported to a factory for processing and each product needs to go to a habitat for consumption. Your road network can handle a lot, but without your oversight it will grind to a halt and drown in traffic eventually. Build highways, roundabouts, and multi lane roads to ensure the production heart of the city keeps beating.
Population Growth
Your first colonists will be astronauts, the best and the bravest humanity has to offer. Give them food and shelter and they'll keep your outpost running no matter what. As your settlement grows, you need to cover the increasing workload by employing scientists and engineers, which require a few more creature comforts. Any city of sufficient size will sooner or later be home to more and more families as well, so make sure your schools can handle it and you are able to deliver the latest VR-edutainment products as well.
You don't have to play hard
Traffic management can be fickle and survival can be tough. You can adjust the difficulties of both to make your city management experience as easy - or as hard - as you want it to be.
#ImKibitz #InfraSpace
Advice: don't have all your appliances, computers etc. for your inhabitants all in the same place because delivering becomes a problem very fast
Favoritte youtuber and i dont know why
More
I'm not completely sure about this, but I think you can manage intersections by pressing clicking on one. I believe you can also click on a bent road and change it to be a curved road.
Make a square and then click the top/bottom roads, an icon will appear to make the corners rounded. Click that for all four corners and to make a circle. The cycle/roundabout works just like City Skylines.
Yup
Well, if he DID play tutorial, he would know how to play this game
I think he already found about the intersection management in the previous episode
@@Sumirevins but still uses crossroads even if they're the least efficient way to move traffic
Big tip: On the production overview tab make sure you are looking at the % productions of each building type. Since you are short on citizens you can see the game automatically reduces how much each is producing to try to meet consumption. Example at 17m you made more electronic factories but you really didn't need to do that. They are working at 40% efficiency to attempt to match demand because you lack citizens. Right now nearly all your buildings are producing at 50% because of lack of citizens.
Does that matter? Afterall, that means ten buildings produce as much as five, so building more infrastructure just lets it get more efficient as it fills in?
Unless I’m misunderstanding, Kibitz is inadvertently preparing for the future
@@brody7714 It can cause huge system failures. Sometimes the game doesn't balance the right things properly. For example if you start producing even just a little less oxygen then you require all your buildings will change to the lowest level which further decreases citizens... It can be bad news.
It also makes identifying what you actually need to increase vs what is sufficient.
@@2nevitable yeah, it has happened to RCE. I think 2 episode wasn’t enough for him to get back on track after the disaster. It’s hard to comeback from lack of oxygen or anything related to habitations upgrades.
Happened to me when I was trying the new pipes because I thought traffic was the reason I had water and oxygen problems
But it just got even worse and I tried spamming pipes everywhere and noticed it wasn't fixing the problem
Then I tried spamming oxygen processor and the water miners and it still didn't work
I then stopped people from working at the research facilities since they took a lot of jobs and I now didn't have enough people for all the jobs (Still didn't fix the problem)
I finally noticed that connecting pipes to oxygen and water processors reduces efficiency by 33% so I needed to 33% more water and oxygen than what the production overview tab said so I spammed hundreds of them
(Problem solved)
quick tip, using districts u can direct certain miners and buidings to only deliver their resources to certain districts and the buildings within, its an easy way to manage
I laughed my ass off during the sequence from Squareabout to Gridlock to Patented Poop Shoot traffic management system
A tip for making resources go where you want there is a district type tool you can use to set up import & export
All this SiFi atmosphere in the game, but to get One-Way Roads you have to crack the science achievement. Whats up with that.
So true
This game is amazing. I’m exited for you to continue this series
AYYYY, I love watching you play these games :)
Looking forward to the next episode this game looks really cool
Traffic is a struggle in this game
Each road type increases the speed of the vehicles which will help with traffic
Kibitz pls upload MOREEEEE TIMEBERBORNNNNNNNNN I wanna see the infinite power
Tip: Don't put more than 6 inhabitants in a same lane... It will soon become a traffic nightmare and then fixing that will be a nightmare too :*) . So make 2x3 grid (2x2 highly recommended if have space) and use one way roads in between. Game has a bug(IDK its fixed or not) that puts nearby houses on top so the traffic cannot go anywhere stuck on road making a huge traffic problem. (I had to delete all inhabs and start factories one by one until I reach the required population)
Hey blitz just so you know you can create districts in this game to determine where each ore goes. Like when you were talking about the iron saying “hopefully the game will figure it out later” you can create separate districts for those to ensure that it happens.
Was going to mention this myself.
He don't know because he didn't play the tutorial
@@kahtyman7293 i also skipped the tutorial but like i do in every i mess around with shit first and thats how i found the districts
blitz? isn't that a different youtuber?
setting up and using the districts will keep your trucks from driving across the map.
That game looks like it was specifically made for you. Minus supercomputers unfortunately 🤣
😭the video ended.
PLEASE MAKE MORE INFRASPACE!!!
Guess You got tired of satisfactory, I just got it, watching old shit 😛
early congrats on 300k subs
So nice that you always drop new series. Really love your content. Found you some weeks ago and I am still trying to look through all your content. Amazing! Keep it going Kibz. 😁🙏
One hour ago you got 300.000 subs now its a thousand more thats funny
I loved this video! So excited to see Kibitz playing InfraSpace!
There was a game, I forgot the name of it, but it allowed you to build domed colonies on other planets with relatively near-future tech. It had some serious issues with colonist AI that made large colonies unfeasible, but there was something I liked about it: It used renewable power, and made the player deal with the issues that are related to it. Namely, sometimes it's nighttime, and sometimes the wind doesn't blow. So you had to build batteries to store excess power when available, and release it when your power generation is low.
It looks like this game just assumes the wind always blows. No solar farms (though maybe they exist, and unlock later?) and no windless periods.
EDIT: Wrote this comment initially near the start of the video. Saw the solar panels while watching. Still, AFAIK no battery banks, so point still stands.
Is it Surviving Mars?
It's not Carbondioxide
It just simply Carbon
Great Video as always, Thanks for making it.
This game is basically just the infrastructure mechanics of Cities Skylines mixed with the theme of Factorio/Satisfactory.
and the landscape of early-game Planet Crafter lol
Any chance you will play They are Billions again?????
RCE is better on this game but you alredy learnin
More please. I wish to play vicariously through you for a couple updates until it has more stuff.
You made me get this amazing game, gg kibitz.
Cant wait for the next video of infraSpace
YEEEEEEES NEW KIBITZ VIDEO LET'S GOOOOOOO
Concrete roads will make your vehicles twice as fast. Highways will make them even faster, but you can't connect buildings directly to highways. So setting up concrete offshoots for production closer to nodes and for your city area, then putting highways in between them to get things moving around faster with less traffic isn't a bad idea. You can spread everything out a bit better that way and not lose efficiency. You have to start adding more and more things like parks and stadiums close to the city, in addition to higher tier products for your citizens on top of what you're already making, so the city area can become pure chaos before you know it. The science areas can get rough too so I keep mine away from the city entirely.
And know that when you upgrade roads to 4 or 6 lane they get a lot bigger. So if you have tons of buildings spammed along a 2 lane road you want to make into a 4 lane, you may have to shift all of the buildings back a bit. It can get tedious.
if factory efficiency is low, it means you have more jobs than people. Solution: BUILD MORE SPACEPORTS AND HABITATS.
INFINITE STEEL/CONCRETE GLITCH
create the cheapest road (1way gravel) then upgrade to Highway road as the cost is glitched and free… then sell/repeat
Hey kibitz you should try a game called transportation fever 2 its a business game like this but you run a transport company. I enjoy it i think you will if you like these type of games in the company running genre.
oy!!! you seem to have forgotten about clicking on intersections and lane management. *LANE MANAGEMENT*
You could take a page out of City Planner Play's playbook for City Skylines. Don't make cul-de-sacs. You always need to give at least two exits from an area.
with how much time you waste in satisfactory loadbalancing with a perfectly functional overflow system available
its impressive how quickly and completely you can gridlock roads
maybe use that loadbalance skill where its useful
Set the solar panels facing south they said. It will be productive they said. But they didn't tell me there wasn't supposed to be a mountain in front of it XD
Kibitz being confused why people on mars, that cant go outside without airtight suits, dont care about polution...
Look at the ratios plz
Considering the trucks don’t make round trips, may as well just treat the roads like conveyors.
gotta go concrete roads everywhere, it literally doubles the max speed of your vehicles!!!
honestly satisfactory is just better From now on if you make a factory game inferior to satisfactory you are just a lazy Grifter at this point xD
Oh man, City Skylines and satisfactory combined. And it works.
seems like a really interesting game, you definitely have to rethink the way you play... definitely seems like the higher levels will take some thought
As someone who lives in a city with a lot of one way roads. They are utterly atrocious, never plan a city with them.
I am stuck at home appliance no matter how much home appliances i build stil i cant the habitat upgrade
I think you should try factorio if you haven’t already played it
Make a section for the space ports it would be soo much quicker
Still under development but this game looks promising
"Everything is easily solved, you just have to do it!"
Kibitz should play Kerbal space program.
Ah yes we meet again mr Kibitz arch nemesis, Traffic!
Another 3d factorio (My POV)
"super super computers' are they supa supa computers"? lol love it
Have a fantastic rest of your day too, Kibitz!
me when theres a new kibz video: :)
me when i finish daid video: :(
You can tell the mines where to export there things with districts
Keep up the fantastic work on the Infraspace series
Let's go ABSOLUTELY NUTS at this point!
he has like 30k concrete and 10k steel
he can begin his drogue settlement (a large-ish thing used to get the stuff for his main city, he has done enough in his starter outpost)
I am getting Factorio vibes from this game.
Citizins are actually the most difficult-to-obtain resource in this game.. you really can't just make 500 factories to build up certain resources, because the % efficiency of all those buildings will be tiny because you don't have population. This game is all about finding the balance between production & consumption.
Very good
You have lost a load more speeding wrote
When is the next cities skylines video coming
Siuuuuuuuuuu
did i miss the previous episode or something???
The surroundings looks exactly like the game mechanica lol
Mechanica is a building game. Basically it is factorio and satisfactory combined. I don’t know if I spelled them right lol
Also you have a tool to manage traffic
I enjoy watching u play this
Yes
Hi kibz. Looks so much fun like the perfect combo of satisfactory and coty skylines !
I cant wait for you to make it a bit farther to the point where you start trying to actually maximize production on every little thing like you do
This faster speed on concrete Rhodes
I can’t wait to see the next episode!
This game seem so bland and boring
PLZ DO MORE IM DIEING FOR YOU TO DO MORE
Great job! I hope you keep making videos about this game.
what's with video games and iron + copper = circuit boards?
because of how circuit boards work this does not work
You mean video games aren't analogous to real life? Shocker!
Probably should have been sand+copper though, makes more sense. Most other games don't have sand as a resource.
Do the new concrete roads make the vehicles faster or are they just for looks?
a bit faster, and most of all more (bigger) road types with more lanes.
watch out for increased width of those wider roads if you place all buildings directly at the roads.
this month there will be an update for traffic signs and traffic lights (you already can change which lanes go straight, left, right, etc), and it probably will have an experimental option for a grid to make it easier to plan ahead.
_and small spoiler (to get less annoyed later): this applies even more to highways (road types 3&4) which allow much faster speed, but also do not allow buildings to attach directly to them._
it makes things go faster
All those resources are infinte(etc. sulfur and iron) so you can place now mines and then later use all
Rce calls that a trucknado
i have been waiting for this
Kibz cannot escape the choo
btw you can use districts to export for example only iron to other districts
Liked because you said sheesh
Your Population is down
Thank you kibitz!
Glad to see you playing this title. I picked it up a few months ago and have had a lot of fun with it, hope this gives it some exposure for new players to pick it up and enjoy it as well!
It 100% did as I bought it after his first video on it came out. Was totally unaware it existed until then.
yay i was waiting for this
Can't you minimize supply lines with more warehouses? Like even in the residential areas? Or do they only hold basic material?
They only hold basic building material.
@@regiets1 unfortunate... though not unsurpassable, if traffic becomes problematic then one could maybe build in bands or pockets in the residential area with warehouses to keep resource delivery minimal? Warehouse to take in from harvest, other ones to supply production decentralized inside residential areas to reduce overall travel?
@@neko-echo Warehouses are input only. They are basically your "god pocket" for concrete, steel, and a third thing (I haven't gotten that far yet). So you set warehouses close to those factories, and those factories in isolated systems to minimize traffic.
The mechanic you're describing is in game too, just as trains/stations.
Yay next episode!
Man how long do you play
CONGRATS ON 300k!
Finally a other ep
