I love my Speidel fermenters that's all I use now, I had the same thoughts about the stainless steel fermenters too expensive. my only complaint is no level marks I fixed that with a ink maker Cheers.

SS wasn’t much more expensive on Amazon but I don’t think the seal on the SS was tight enough compared to the Spiedel .

Use oxy clean ( or sodium percarbonate from Amazon ) and your plastic cleaning problems will be over.
