Don't know why BMW didn't use a DCT trans, its a far superior transmission, by comparison to a tuned slush box. I own the 2018 Audi RS3 with a DCT and its amazing, for BMW NOT to use a DCT is kind of a deal breaker for me. Rest of the car is great
@@nessuno5403 I get their trying increase their bottom line profits, it comes at the cost of real world performance. So, bmw uses the ZF vendor that builds transmission to suit many vehicles, including Mercedes and Jeep, there are a few more auto makers, then this auto makers will design the bell housing around it and TCU software to suit their needs. BMW had the DCT before and certainly could’ve built those in-house to keep costed down InThe long run. Once you’ve driven a DCT, there’s no going back. A slush box with planetary gears is just more mechanical failures down the road, while the DCT has fewer less moving parts and by nature have the next gear ready to load and better software tuning, ya DCT is the clear choice

If you only want the explanation then here it is: it is done while keeping in requirements of Chinese customers mostly and provide cooling to radiator and intercooler together. They could have done bmw way, but most of these cars will sell to china and thus it made sense for bmw to make it.
Hello BMW, I have a question, can the new M3 and M4, even the ones equipped with M Drive Professional package that has the 10-stage traction control do stand still burnouts? I currently have a 2019C63s, and even with TCS all the way off, the car is programmed to not allow you to do burnouts, so the ability to do burnouts in the new M3 would actually be a benefit if I were to trade in my AMG for it.
Who thought that shooting vertical for UA-cam was a good idea?? I understand places like Instagram only have vertical orientation. But nowadays you can easily shoot for both orientations, shoot with something like a RED Monstro 8K and you can reformat in post; just keep your composition towards the centre and job done. Also turn off auto focus and mount a teleprompter to that rig.
We’re seven episodes in and all of them have been like that. Just like the hideous front grille, once BMW commits to something, they stick with it, even if it’s an obviously horrendous mistake. We tell them over and over, but they don’t listen.

@@vollcare4076 no, 650nm is not fine, the reliability of the gearbox will be reduced. Depending on how to use it. Lots of manual cars have 600+hp, they still fine.

@@lexist2112 I know! I have an M2C with DCT... the ZF is ordinary in comparison (sampled it on M140i and Giulia). It's a true automatic.
