I love Matt Watson. He's funny, competent, and has a wonderful, self-deprecating sense of humor. It is astonishing to hear someone in his position and, with his experience, miss the boat so completely on Toyota. Toyota has no compelling electric vehicles, is committed to hydrogen obfuscation and bullshit, including the utter nonsense of a hydrogen combustion engine, and is even lobbying at this point to rollback emissions so that they can get a fig Leaf to cover up their total lack of real commitment to electrification. They also appear to be committed to serial lying about their genuinely mythical solid-state battery, which they've been promising year-to-year for many years, a far worse example of Elon's over-promising on full self-driving. Not only that but since Toyota and virtually all the other Japanese car companies have already crashed in China and are headed for bankruptcy or at least severe marginalization, they are going to take the Japanese economy with them. It's astonishing and frankly disappointing that Matt does not appear to see any of that.

Mat not being paid for the YT channel is ridiculous other than he being the majority owner of Carwow. Guy's being ripped off. Lawyer up and get the bag, Mat.
He has shares in Carwow and I assume Carwow gets the money form UA-cam. Therefore he is basically in the end getting money out of it plus getting paid a wage which is probably substantial just like anyone else working for a company at the end of the day.

I really think the carwow channel makes nice content because if someone wants to buy a new car, almost all people will look at reviews so they know what car to buy ,I think the carwow channel it is a good chennel to help people want to buy cars I rank the channel 8.3/10 because it does not give you the exact knowledge of the car like sometimes he does not give you MPG or range on combustion engines cras or M/KWH on electric vehicles but still I really think that channel is very helpful for buyer's
It's worth noting that Tesla is actually not just a car company, they have the energy storage / battery and solar products as well as robotics as well. A lot of the price is also future potential. So yeah, priced as a car company its definitely overpriced. Tesla is difficult to price, now - its probably a good time to buy if you're in for the long haul. If you're looking for a quick buck, probably look elsewhere. But a lot of people fall into the same trap of thinking of Tesla as a car manufacturer, its not.

Agreed
If Matt had its own channel, I think he would be far more wealthy than he currently is.
He has a personal channel @Matt Watson cars
Porsche 911 who would have thought.
Delightful episode gentlemen!
Would be really super though if you guys get Yianimize arranged but anyway enjoyable episode to watch!
i love the fact he says " he likes value for money" even though he reviews the very expensive cars he hasn't tried to shit on the cheaper cars that 90% of us actually could afford to drive.
You're poor 😂
@@zervont3046 your mum is
Great interview - all three of you well-informed, great interaction, great info. Thanks!
He got you with the income bit… 😂 I agree with him on that
I'm aways very open with my income, I have various videos breaking down weekly / monthly income etc, my wife just doesn't feel comfortable advertising our total worth. But yes, I agree, he got me haha 😎 MT

That's because there are too many people with tall poppy syndrome.
Nothing is stopping anyone upset with another person's earnings doing what they are doing.
Anyone can become a YT star, anyone can become a company owner, anyone can become a CEO.

income is a private thing as is wealthy. This channel is all about wealth and investing and other things so clearly they can state what they have for transparency but that is not the case for society as a whole.
Love it, matt is the King....you guys are also good, but the crap about e cars quality is 30k less, because of the battery exp....that is not true and that comparisant is vrong...🤘the price of a comb engine car and and ecar, should be same....period.
Why do you all wear headphones?
GREAT CHANNEL - and very refreshing to hear someone so down to earth doing so well - would love to see you on Top Gear (as an avid fan)
Keep up the good work
Sometimes charging can be a great social experience. Other drivers tend to talk about their car and experience. I recently paid for a charge with my phone for a couple that couldn't get their bank card to work. I used my phone to start their charging session and they gave me some cash, I realised they'd overpaid and gave them a tenner back.
that’s an awesome interview
Mat is spot on with his comments on electric cars.
Matt is fun to watch .he doesnt have that robbot like character like other car reviwers
Mat not being paid for the YT channel is ridiculous other than he being the majority owner of Carwow. Guy's being ripped off. Lawyer up and get the bag, Mat.
Mat does not own Carwow. Go and look it up if you do not believe me.
He has shares in Carwow and I assume Carwow gets the money form UA-cam. Therefore he is basically in the end getting money out of it plus getting paid a wage which is probably substantial just like anyone else working for a company at the end of the day.
@@jackpassfield9141 ... that's my point altogether: Mat's being ripped off. He has Clarkson-like recognition in a vehicle that was created by him. Its ridiculous he isn't paid millions alone yearly just in image rights.
Tesla are actually a data mining company.
I guess those are two different things. Car price and stock price.
