Thank you for this! Had a mishap with our apartments carpet and though all hope was lost and we’d have to replace it but dying it to be at least passable vs an entire reinstall of carpet is a much better option for us currently.
You really haven’t shared what dye and how much and what type of neutralizer for the carpet! So I still not clear
I've always been curious about restoring the color and now i found this... this is great.
I sure wish you lived where I do 😊 'Ring ring . . . . . ' " Hello, I need a carpet doctor and your ability is 🙌🏻🥳🤩".
Excellent work, beautifully explained 💯
This is so cool didn’t think this was possible
Hahahahahaha...I was watching a bunch of carpet videos and I thought..."Wow that sounds just like Richard..." I didn't know you did this! Awesome.
How you neutralize the bleach? With what ?
Thank you !
THANK YOU...
Very nice. I'm actually getting into this type of service now. Don't you have to apply a color set agent as the very last step?
Finally! Thank you for this well explained, well demonstrated video!
This is amazing thank you! My bleach stain is on the apartment carpet, which is different from the video. Will this process still work?
What dye did you use?
So I tried this before but did not neutralize the bleach 😔 is there a way to fix my now red spot?
Does that dye work on most fibers?
I’d like to learn more about your process. I understand everything up until the part where you said you’ve already pre mixed “the dye” and so my question like most here is what type of dye is used as well what did you mix it with and in what part color what part water solution?
I’m a cosmetologist but I’m not a carpet expert. Thank you in advance for your help. I need to fix this area asap. Please share your magic formula and brand of color please. Our carpet is a light beige, cool tone no reds.
I use carpet dye from americolordyes.com. I mix the dye with pH stabilizer and dye prep catalyst. There’s no standard ratio for mixing water and dye because it’s always done on a case by case basis. I mix the dye lighter than I think I’ll need at first and add more color as needed. Usually I can match the carpet to one of the stock colors they sell but sometimes I need to mix colors to match the carpet. They sell everything you need to dye carpet.
Thank you for this! Is there any cheaper option to make a white spot a little darker, please? It’s not bleach. My beige carpet is dyed black a little from my slippers. I tried to clean something off the carpet with dish soap, which has created the white spot. Thanks again!
What did you use to neutralize
Could you do a shade lighter carpet, what dye would I use?
This is where I get my dye: americolordyes.com/ They sell a wide variety of colors but you can always adjust the shade by mixing a little lighter if you can't find an exact match
Great video. I have a wool rug with pet urine stains. Can I use this technique to cover them?
The urine spots should be cleaned and treated for staining before you dye the rug. Any stains will usually come out in the process and dying won't be necessary. Sometimes, there will be bleaching left behind that can only be corrected with dye.
Our carpet is same exact as the video. What color did you use? Thanks
Medium Brown. Always start out with a more dilute solution because you can always go darker but it's not always possible to go lighter.
Can I please buy color dyie ?
What’s the shelf life on the dye once’s it’s mixed ? Thanks
I haven’t found a point at which it goes bad so I would say indefinitely. But it’s more hassle to store mixed dye than it’s worth so I don’t bother.
What did you use to neutralize the spot, plus what dye product did you use?
I put links in the description
Hey, I bought 3 products to mix, from Michael's craft store, honestly, a lot of experimental mixing on a small piece of carpet..before I did the deed.. it looked okay on my smaller spots. But to be sure..Not, as easy peasy as I thought. Good 🤞 luck
@@HowToCleanLikeAProwhere I can't find that your link
I'm moving out of a house on base and have a few stains. Two of them are a darker ink stain. The biggest being about the size of a quarter. The carpets are a darker tan, any tips on dyeing it? Also 2-3 red stains throughout the whole house. Been here for 4 years and have kids, stuff happens. They charge $5 a square foot to replace carpet🤦♂️
You can’t really dye a spot that’s darker than the color of the carpet. You can only dye lighter to darker. If you call a carpet cleaner they can usually remove ink and red dye stains fairly easily. If you want to try to do it yourself you can use a product like this: amzn.to/3iQp5Mu for the red stains. There are also ink stain removers available online as well. If you decide to do it yourself be sure to follow the directions because these products can damage the carpet if not used properly.
I’ve ordered the americolor kit and can’t for the life of me match the beige carpet lol what color dye did you use for this ? Our carpet is close to this just a bit lighter. Thank you
I used Medium Brown. The dye is darker when it's wet, so you can't tell how it will look until it dries. That's why it's recommended to start with a very dilute solution and work your way darker.
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro thank you
Is there anything you can do if the bleach stain is on a carpet with multiple colors?
But what kind of dye dud u use
Thank you, but I was taken back with "It is a lot harder than it looks." I will have to do one room at a time, the bleach spots are large and all over the apartment.
Looked a little green when you were done
0:28 "First step is to neutralize the bleach..." would be nice if you mention what is it that your are putting on the area? soap water? something mixed in? HOW❓ "...you don't want to skip this step" 🤣
I’m using bleach neutralizer. The product is called bleach neutralizer. There’s a link in the description to the bleach neutralizer that I used
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro 👍
What do you neutralize the dye with?
Water
You don’t neutralize the dye
Its like the choice of a turd or a shit sandwich, both look noticable which one do you want, a giant dark spot or a couple bleach spots? Does it get lighter as it dries?
It was actually invisible to the naked eye. These HiRes cameras see more than we can so it looks dark in the video
hi i have a big bleach stain on my apartment carpet, the carpet color is khaki (nearby beige). I used 2 spoons of vinegar+warm water on the bleached area (as given on the google directions) I believe it would have also neutralized the bleach color.. the carpet has been dry now as its been 3 weeks since the bleach fell on the carpet. I believe it will not spread the dye color if I will apply on the carpet. or what are your thoughts about it?
Please let me know what carpet dye color should I use in this case.
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro how can I show it
can I send you the picture of my carpet in the email.
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro what is the email ID? I can send you the picture of my carpet
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro this was my question, which dye should I use.. as most of the dyes are automotive dyes that sellers recommended me to not use on the household carpet😔😔
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro thank you.. i will give it a shot
What did you use to neutralize the bleach?
Bleach neutralizer
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro 😆
Great idea. But no info on how to find or purchase the die, where the neutralizer comes from and all of the specifics needed to do this task. Incredibly and informative
Read the description...
Wondering the same
Is there a specific color name of that carpet in the video?
I’m sure there is but I don’t know what it is
Can you share bleach neutalizer link also
It’s in the description
Which dye did you use?
There's a link in the description
hat tile doesnt need treatment, especially if if high value it will run its course and return to color
Dafuq
Please elaborate
What is that clear thing call
Pipette
What neutralizes bleach
Bleach neutralizer. See the description
You didn't at all say in the video WHAT you used besides bleach neutralizer. Like, WHAT did you use to make the dye?
Carpet dye
@@HowToCleanLikeAPro 😂
Use rattle can paint !!!! LOL !!!!! IT WORKS !!!! LOL !!!!!
I mean, it def looks better but they also transformed in to a couple of gross dark green "stains".
They’re not dark green. The spots are wet and these HiDef cameras see more than we do. To the naked eye the dyed spots blended perfectly with the rest of the carpet. The maid service that paid me for the job was happy and the owner of the house was happy and if you didn’t know where the spots were you would never notice them
And you wont share the colors u mix to get the color
There's a link in the description
Kon sa chemical hi
The chemicals say, “hi, back at you”
Be aware... I paid a Carpet Dye Co $$$$$, they dyed the spots yeah !! 6 months later the spots came back boooooh !! So ask if they have a gaurantee !!
وش ذا؟
Totally
Will you please message me your email? I am a Flooring Installer in southern Indiana, I need this in my business model thank you In advance
