Thanks for the informative video. I want to dye my seat belts BUT don't want to remove them from the vehicle (carpet and seats are already removed so I'm not worried about staining anything else if I dye the seat belts while in the car.) Two questions: 1) Some other videos have said Rit dye requires boiling the water. Did you have to boil the water in your spray bottle before adding the dye? 2) Have you noticed any of the color of the dye eventually wearing off on other material? I'm specifically worried about my dyed seat belts transferring color to clothing after time. THANKS for answering my questions.
I can't really speak to your seat belt concern as I didn't do mine. I would do a small test area to confirm like the end area when you fully extend the belt. It would be hidden inside the retractor most of the time. I don't recall whether I did any boiling or not but I did carefully follow the instructions on the box.
I am getting ready to dye the carpet on our Bounder doghouse. Did you use the colorstay fixative with the dye? If so, what was the number of tbs per how much of hot water. Thanks for any help for me. Thanks.
Hi. Thanks for the great video! Great idea! Does the color rub off at all? I'm thinking about doing this on an upholstered chair. Do you think it would work? Thanks again!
3:58 in video duration... Now try it on your towel, and your shirt and your pants. I would say your hair too, but that would be absolutely rude and insulting.
Thanks. I'm bored sitting at home while the pandemic is going on. Decided to dye my car's carpet. This helped tremendously!
I just did my car's carpets and they look really good. Thanks for your tips!

Awsome job . This Works great.
How is the carpet color holding up. Do you think this method would work on carpet in a boat? It is removable.
Thanks!
hi to remove the over spray dye, try rubbing Dawn dish soap on it ;)
Rough estimate, how long to dry, I know weather aka Temp and Humidity are the key factors
how about a video of RV finished. Please. I am going to dye carpet in my 5th wheel camper today.
Thanks great video.
Did you dye your carpet? How did it turn out? I want to dye a piece of carpet on our boat.
It did great and holding up well.

This is awesome! Can we please see a video of how its held out now? I been looking and looking to updo my rv aswell! Thx so much!
It has held up really well. It looks as good today as when I did it. Lots of traffic, human and dogs with many cleanings and still looks good.

Thank you so much for getting back to me!!!
I'm excited to do mine now ♡♡
Blessings!
Add salt too
Hanan Taj a teaspoon of dawn and salt? What are the benefits of adding those?

I did not use any fixative, I only used what came in the box. The color has held up well.
Wow great video! I wonder if the dye has a smell and if it stays if you clean it with a carpet wand
It has no smell and the dye seems to be holding fast. Have not used a carpet cleaner but have cleaned up spills and no problems.
Hi there, love your video, we are dying our rv carpet as we speak. Just wondering how long does it take to dry before we can walk on it?
Hi. Thanks for the great video! Great idea! Does the color rub off at all? I'm thinking about doing this on an upholstered chair. Do you think it would work? Thanks again!
It doesn't rub off and has held up well.I can't advise on an upholstered chair. I would do a small area on the underneath and see how it goes.
@@philkarshner7150 Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I really appreciate it. I can't wait to give this a try.
How long does it take to dry?
It drys quickly. 24 hours and you are ready to go.
is this toxic to sleep by?

I’m shocked to see OSB used as a floor board in your RV.
'went to Bernie's rallies ( in the motor home) and Voted for him ~ just sayin...
Why do you have a dog house in there next to your steering wheel . What a mess😆
Really
An engine cover is called a dog house, not a literal dog house.
