Then also , mike and barry got the meringue badge literally for "touching the bowl to see if its cool enough"
@@ras3c1 I think when they took away Barry's badge they said something like : if later on they prove that they don't have the skill then it can be revoked.
So I am not questioning who they give the badge to but rather why is it that they don't revoke badges of others who also proven at a later stage that they actually don't have the skills.
@@shaodowofmidnight maybe separate meringue badges? Because they know how to do swiss, that was shown even if Jamie left no actual meringue work for Barry and Mike. It was also done in a pass it on, so what if badges should be limited to more competitive situations so things like Jamie doing the entire thing doesn't happen again
This was a really great video. Having guests come in and do this have put a unique and interesting spin on the competitions and video's.
Oh wow Ms. Gill is stunning 😍 I also love that she's so comfortable with the camera because of her hosting experience, such a good choice of guest
I love seeing more expert guests joining you all and sharing their expertise.
Can’t believe Barry won this one. If Ben didn’t help him with the gelatine he would have nothing to serve.
Oh please are we gonna do this every video? He did everything else perfectly and made a good dish, stop hating
@@OK-mv4ih to be honest, i thought about it too - yeah, jamie did swiss meringue, and that lost him the battle and the badge, but if ben didnt warn barry about his gelatine, barrys dish would be loose as juice
@@OK-mv4ih 14:35 'if you had just made the merangue properly....' so no, he didn't do everything else perfectly.
@@OK-mv4ih I didn't see Ben give Jamie any help or advice....did you?
Is this the new renovated studio kitchen? Please share the upgrade journey if it is! LOVING THE HERB CAGE!

Funny but sounds more wrong than you think at first 😂
I love watching you guys. It helps me to not feel so bad when I get things a little, you've been at it 10 yrs. So I know I have plenty of time to improve. 🤣🤣.
Keep up the great work guys.
This was a great time! I am actually inspired to pick up her book
After months of thinking I should try the meal packs app, i finally decided to give it a go. Tonight I made the chicken mozarella with watercress from the hone your skills pack.
When I asked my girlfriend if she liked it she said: "i don't want to admit this, but it's amazing, it's by far the best thing you cooked for us ever"
She prides herself on being the better cook out of the 2 of us, so being able to blow her away with something that was so easy to do by following the steps you guys provided put a smile on my face.
Thank you guys for providing this service
Think Rav was a great guest judge! Would love to see the sorted kitchen visited by Gaz Oakley, I feel him & Barry would get on really well!
I thought the same, as I'd love to see more vegan recipes - but young Gaz has just moved from London back to Cardiff to run a rural smallholding. Hopefully he could jump on the train back for an appearance... :)
Been having a bad morning. Really grateful for this video.
Another great video!! Also a big fan of Barry Taylor. Thanks for not letting your mistakes keep you from doing more of these challenges, it helps me not quit my attempts at cooking and baking because of similar mistakes. Love learning patience and determination from you guys.
Love you Sorted!!
Is there a list somewhere that shows what all the badges stand for? I've lost track of who's got what :)
Ravneet was a lot of fun. What a great guest!
I love these challenges where the kitchen is blocked off so they cant see each other. Adds extra fun. Would love to see more of them :)
Ravneet is such a lovely guest! Super genuine critiques, great sense of humor, not to mention she is drop dead gorgeous. Super fun having her on this episode!
Bringing in these guest chefs has been brilliant. Great video! Edit: Any chance at getting Matty Matheson to come on over? I bet he'd do it and that would be a complete dream come true for me for sure.
Would love that! We'll see what we can do...
Ravneet can definitely come back to Sorted. She’s the best!
I love these special guests and the absolute fear they strike into the boys. I’d love to know who would strike fear into the ever intelligent, cool Chef Ebbers
You guys need to get Eric lanlard back for a choux battle with mike and Jamie! That would be hilariously entertaining!
"Tastes a bit fizzy... Don't know how you managed it" oh that killed me 🤣
"You knew what to do."
Me: "You literally told him how to do it! At least Jaime did it without the lifeline."
No, Baz knew how to do an Italian meringue. Remember? It was one specific temperature that he was unsure of. But the basic differences between them, he knew. Jamie did not.
I'm excited to check out Rav's book - I had no exposure to her prior to this. The book looks fantastic, hope I can get in the US!
More of Chef Ravneet please, absolutely fantastic.
Just wondering if you guys could do a video with gelatin conversions. Because here in the states we only have powders gelatin, and I was wondering how many of the gelatin sheets equals a packet of powdered unflavored gelatin
Ravneet was a great judge in this episode! She threw in tidbits of information, and remained firm in her decision. Thanks for inviting her!
can anyone explain why exactly Jamie's one failed? more confused as to why his didnt set at all. was it the order he folded everything together, or was it the meringue method that failed him? genuinely curious here. tyvm in advance!
They said he made the wrong type of meringue
It was swiss merangue instead of Italian merangue. I don't know what the difference is, but that's whey it didn't set.
Would it be good if we have some bloopers & aftertaste? Just like old times
Okay I love Ravneet! Wasn’t sure of the previous guest chefs (didn’t finish the full video so may have got better) the energy just didn’t match but this was perfect 👌🏽
When Jamie looks at the camera and states that he doesn’t know the difference between an Italian and Swiss meringue despite having the meringue badge is somewhat troublesome.
I agree, and he did the meringue in less than 10 minutes in that video, odd.
It's not odd. He knows how to do a swiss maringue but not an Italian one. So he did a swiss here too
@@DimT670 but didn’t they critique his Swiss meringue in the video today?
@@connorcobean4617 because that's not what they were looking for...
@@jakeclarke779 So then should he really have the meringue badge if he can’t make the different types of meringues?
I really enjoyed this video - we've been selling Ravneet's book at my workplace for a while and it's nice to put a face to the cookbook. I need to go back into the playlists and catch up with all the badge-winning cooks...
Jamie must have been working out lately because that cream didn’t stand a chance 💪🏻🥛
Its Sunday once more, thank you for putting out great content!
Dividing the kitchen because they have a 'real' judge this time has that perfect Sorted energy.
Barry gets kinda like helped on the basics ... and Jamie is properly playing the challenge / fairness badge for Jamie so fully rewarded on kinda all those ones
Why is Mike not part of these? Doesn’t seem even if he can’t compete for the same badges.
You're making the mistake of thinking it matters in any way.
bcs he is way ahead, also mike recently won chef vs chef battle, so he is behind camera, giving rest of the boys time to catch up, so it isnt one sided
UK is still under covid restrictions, so number of people from different households that can meet inside is limited.
@@mikeharman4257 last week they had 2 chefs so yea, COVID ain't the reason
7:53 she is so mean. I adore her!
Why didn't Jamie lose a badge, when he didn't know how to make a Italian Meringue?
Barry was grilled just a few videos ago and lost his badge in almost the same situation.
Nobody heard him admit he didn’t know 😅
@@melbapeach162 Where's Ebbers, when you need him? I demand justice!
Jk, I don't really care. Content still great, 10/10 will watch next piece.
1 there's actually different meringue badges 1 for italian and one for basic meringue and 2. ben basically took barry's badge away because he never deserved it in the first place and then couldnt say what was in the very blend he won the badge for at all he only knew 1 ingredient
@@donb7519 As I said, I don't care.
Omg Rav has that whole James sass... so the pros are on the same wavelength and passion about their food :D love it.
You guys should collaborate with the channel KoreanEnglishman!! Josh's wife, Gabie, is a trained chef and they could all help judge a Normals Korean food battle or something! They live in London too! Anyway, love your videos 😊
Ah that would be great!!
Finally someone mentioned it
Jamie and Ollie's energy combined would blow up the whole studio
@@larissapinto3791 haha ikr!
This was a great guest! I loved her coaching moments
Chef Ravneet is great! She also got along with them quite well!
Jamie is nailing those ‘sunshine from the teletubbies’ vibes during the end chat with that light behind him 😂
Please have her back again😁
This was such a lovely video! The boys did alright and Raveneet was a great guest!
I’m so happy to see a fab judge on this channel. I hope this is a hint to Nadiya judging the Normals in the future.
What exactly is custard powder? In my country it's a cornstarch-mixture...
Hope we get to see Mike again soon! 😌
Interesting that the recipe looks amazing and yet is deceptively simple!
I know who I would love you to have on, but it may be difficult in the current climate - Mythical Chef Josh :D
Hello dear how are you doing over there?
💖Genuinely love you guys and the happiness you bring into my home every week🥰
