Barry going shopping mid-battle is an entire mood. 😂
Reminiscent of the focaccia cheese steak 😂
And in full cosplay too 🤣
💯
@@hannahdancy4508 haha I know! That was the best bit. Loved that they showed him feeling a bit awkward in the shop with all the people staring at him.
how did he not win? He had to go buy fresh fruit in the middle of cooking and his dish still turned out perfect!
Anyone else just happy to see James back and as judgy as ever?
🙋🏽
Plus his new toupee.
James seems very chill these days. Glad that the Statler to Ben's Waldorf has returned nonetheless !
Me! 🙋🏻♂️ Plus his hair looks so fluffy!…🤩
"We haven't mentioned the pastry yet..." and "Cooked through is a low bar..." - ah, how we missed the snark
I was really hoping to have James pull an imaginary string and have Barry shout, “there’s a ganache in my boot.” Or Mike exclaim, “To chocolate and beyond!”
HAHAHA!!! They both missed a trick there for sure.
This was a special one! Congrats!
The you've got a friend in me was bang on though
I thought for sure Mike would allude to Barry having been to infinity and beyond to get his mango...
@@deborahelder2212 I think Barry missed that given his reaction though!
not calling him "Buzz Mike-Year" was a seriously missed opportunity
I was thinking Baz-lightyear was a missed opportunity.
@@canelavanillaice yes, I thought about that too.
They wanted to give us the opportunity. Sorted can't have all the fun.
@@canelavanillaice I was thinking the same thing. But Buzz Mikeyear works just as well.
You know you’ve been watching sorted for a long time when you look at the costumes and think: “this is normal.”
True... there has been some crazier constumes back then..
OMG yes
or "finally the costumes are back" 😂
I'm eagerly awaiting the chicken battle revisited.
I find it funny when a new viewer questions why things happen in videos like them dressing up and because I’m actually thinking about it I have a little chuckle because we just expect these things now and completely overlook the weird stuff 😂
I'm just imagining if last week's Ursula had to get ingredients in the shops 🤣
😂 this would be absolutely hilarious!
I'm fairly sure that would result in an arrest on grounds of harassment. No one wants to see that.
@@Khazandar speak for yourself, I'd love to see that
After reading what you wrote I'm now picturing each one in costume having to go to the store to get their supplies before being able to start cooking.
@@meacadwell That would be the best show ever!!!!!
Out of all the angles for the sexies of the tart they chose to show off the part that got broken off.
And I kinda like that fact.
Hahaha nice detail
These cooking battles make me so freaking happy. Well done gents and grats on the book!
Your videos also make me happy, chef!

Are we not going to talk about coco being hydrophobic? That was FASCINATING! That bit was the best thing about this video lol. Thank you, Ben!
I know!!! I loved that, no wonder i always find cocoa hard to mix with liquid, there are always little pockets of cocoa lumps!
@@asiyah7714 I've found the best way is to sift it first so there are no big lumps and mix it to a paste with a little liquid first. Then you can add more, gradually, whisking as you go and it will incorporate nicely. Even better if the liquid has some fat in it (such as cream or whole milk) as the cocoa is fat soluble.
@@micheinnz Thanks
He's a super geek, super geek!
“I already have a Sheriff’s Badge.” - Barry James Taylor, 2021.
I like this energy.
so happy for Mike. he needed a winning streak. it's been a long time coming
he really has been getting the short end of the stick recently so I smiled at the results lol
Yeah! I aaalmost started getting a bit angry like they were bullying him :D
An idea for a badge battle could be the “teaching badge” where they have to walk a completely new “normal” through the cooking of a dish.
This is amazing !
Great idea! Thanks for this :)
I volunteer🙋♀️as the normal lol
Excellent idea. The best way to demonstrate your understanding of a topic is to walk someone else through it.
How about a Normal teaching a chef?
“I don’t think that’s gonna make it into the edit” 😂
How wrong he was 😂
new video idea:
James and Ben create a dish, normals has to taste the dish and guess which ingredients are used and recreate it without the recipe.
That could be hilarious.
@@aquaspire7671 That'd be awsome . Rose flavored chicken? lol
i'd love to see that
Didn't they do this at some point with some kind of cake? Anyway would love to see it again.
Chris Morocco vibes here XD
Just for a heart stopping minute, I thought Mike was going to put the tart case in the oven with the beans still in the plastic wrap 😱 okaaay, heat proof cling film... learn something new every day 😂
omg did they SAY it was heat proof cling film? bc I was totally fretting over that! come on guys, use a clean dish towel!
Yea I was looking at the film going into the oven like "nooooo"
When i tell you i gasped
Even if it is, I believe plastic still leaks toxins when heated up. :(
I was just waiting for someone to step in because I was horrified!! Parchment... something... but cling film!? It still doesn't seem right.
I can't get over Barry going to the supermarket dressed up as Woody 😂
and buying a single mango xD
@@bookclubish1689 he bought a few other things too lol
I just came from the shops. There were absolutely no cute guys dressed as Woody. I feel cheated.
Funnily enough, it's not that unusual. I work in a supermarket and we regularly get people that are dressed up. The two most frequent ones are Batman and a Guerilla - they come in every few weeks 😂
Calm Mike showed this battle. He is rare.
One day he may be medium-rare
I'm actually surprised seeing Mike not lifting up the dough before pressing it into the pan. I just- I thought he's done it hundreds of times before 🤦🏻♀️
He thinks he's being smart... even though he's still making a mistake.
But isn't that just the Normals in a nutshell though?
I'm so happy that the classic ultimate battles are back. It's weirdly nostalgic, it's what got me hooked on sorted all those years ago.
I'm loving the series of re-doing the battles and the added cosplay really tops it off😂
We're glad you're enjoying it :)
@Alecto 79 but in Dreamworks costumes
Not sure how to classify, but a menu or a memorization badge can be entertaining. Give them a dish recipe that they've never made before, a night to practice with, and see how well they can replicate it in a challenge without the recipe.
Don't worry Mike, I actually think the little brittle gems are more aesthetic than the big shards anyway, Love the costumes as well boys!
Anyone else spend their Sundays meal prepping while binging Sorted videos for the millionth time just counting down until the new video release???
Me I useally make something to eat
Wednesdays and Sundays are my favorite days. Watch the sunday video while having brunch
Absolutely! They're usually the ones who remind me to season my stuff :D
So...NOT just me.
I've been watching them on the treadmill at the gym. It makes me feel slightly subversive.
Wow.
Barry walking in as Woody, must have been the highlight for the people working at that shop that day.
I'll be honest... I would've kept laughing the rest of the day.
James attempt at diverting to a plug was hilarious
Our music-making, Janice-voicing, video-editing boy is the reigning and defending battle champion, and it's glorious.
Mike missed an opportunity to say that this time around he’ll use hacks and stuff he’s learned to take the tart to infinity and beyond!
From winning no badges at the start to tying up with Jamie and Barry, Mike is making a comeback!
The twin chef silent reaction to Mike's pushing the pastry into the pan. lol. Wow. Mike's doing really well. Is it terrible that I'm both impressed and proud?
That was a mistake he should’ve lifted the pastry
@@cameronknowles6267 I know. Ben explained after he and James did their twin little dance of horror.
This weeks costumes are fine but last weeks were PERFECTION 👌🏻
That make up on mike was sooooo good his cheek bones where like magic
I'm glad the badges aren't dependent upon the win. Mike does best when they're not trying to one up each other. He remained focused on the task at hand, and it showed in the end result. Kudos to Michael for the win! 🌟🍫🏅
I have a small problem in witch they came with several improvements and problems with Mike’s but none with Barry but mike won so Barry had no chance unless mike failed
Missed opportunity for Barry to have been Baz Lightyear 😥
“Is this the part of the recipe where you make something?” - Michael Brian Huttlestone, Owner of being Salty, 2021.
Workplace Banter...SORTED 😂
"Look hydrophobic" lol, I love Ben. He's super geeky.
He's a super geek, super geek!
Some say Mr Whippy, some say Mr Woody... Oh Ben 😂
Whatever outfit is next, needs to consider how many puns and innuendos Ben can make about them!
And that's not including tasting Barry's when it was hot n fresh 😱😂
James turning his head with a straight face was hilarious. That man has heard too many bennuendos in his life time XD
I do not own baking beans and I like to bake pie and I've always just used rice. But I usually get a soggy bottom on my crust and I haven't been able to figure out why. Now I know IT TAKES LONGER THAT WAY???? Thank you Mike, for troubleshooting my baking!
1:05 the wall of badges looks so satisfying~
Ebbers: Remembers a chocolate dessert he had five years ago.
Me: struggles to remember what he had for dinner a month ago.
For Americans you'll find the Cape Gooseberry marketed as goldenberries, pichu berries, or possibly as Aztec goldenberries. They are tart, citrusy, and a little bitter.
As someone who will literally make a batch of yorkshire puddings to eat with insane amounts of gravy, learning that water in the batter makes for a crispier and lighter pudding is something I'm very happy about. Also that cocoa powder is hydrophobic is a new one for me
Seeing James made my week ❤️😍 he’s adorable with the longer curly hair
I would love to see the normals get different recipes that they have to adapt to someone with an allergy(or multiple). Since I'm studying to become a baker this is something that has come to a new light for me and a real chef knows how to adapt the cooking for allergies.
Mike's "You've got a friend in me." is underappreciated. XD
Seeing a grown Mango to the shop as a cowboy makes me giggle. c:
A pie crust par bake tip from babish is to use sugar to weigh down the crust then when it's done you have toasted sugar. Use to give a slightly more complex flavor to desserts
I respect Barry for going to the store in that outfit.
Idea: Costumed Budget Meals Battle? Make the Normals or the Chefs have to pick a random costume (or one chosen by Patrons) and they have to shop, cook, and present a dish for uhhhh...I'll let them decide the price?
Edit: Oh...and they have to wear the costume for the entire battle. Shopping AND Cooking.
YOU CAN DO THIS MIKE!! I just want Mike to win it all for once
Idk how I always end up watching foods videos whilst I’m fasting 😂😂
James looking so good with that messy hair is borderline criminal 😍
The cute thick curls and the beard! 🥰
I like the addition of the badge system, now all we need is some heaven and hell like rewards/punishments :D
The cling film in the oven made me nervous 😬
OHH the way James and Ben segued into where to get the book's and recipes got me on the floor... Really creative guys. I love these challenges, it just goes to show that the normals have learnt a lot over the years...WELL DONE GUYS...
I look forward to Sorted episodes all week. It’s the most fun I can have being an essential worker
My big winner? That was Barry right at 2:01. We all won for seeing that pose. The living embodiment of sass.
Here's a weird idea:
Paella prepared like a biryani in a saucepan and a biryani prepared like a paella in a paella pan. Ben Vs James in a recipeless battle
I have gotten to the part where Mike puts the rice and beans in his pastry and I had a little heart attack, when he used cling film and then said: it goes in the fridge and after that straight in the oven.....
Surely I can‘t be the only one?
I really like the badges you guys have been doing. Gamifying a cooking channel is a really unique idea and it works very well.
My mum came in the room asking why i was watching two grown men cooking in Toy Story outfits and I didn't have an answer.
The correct response is, "Why aren't you?" Lol
@@nikwalters1029 ofc
I'm just watching years of the show in line and I love it!
I was not expecting to experience abject terror from a sorted vid, but seeing mike BAKE PLASTIC WRAP really transported me to somewhere like the Upside Down. (Even if it's heat proof, I have to imagine there's some potential chemical leaching/weird flavor/moisture issues.)
Mike using TONY'S in his chocolate tart makes me happy.
AW YAY! Down with covid rn and this is just what I needed
Hope you feel better soon
A chocolate badge for making a ganache! Not even having to temper chocolate.
There should totally be an advanced chocolate badge; there's so much depth to chocolate, requiring so many skills. I feel like ganache is very entry level and hard to mess up. (Eventhough Barry's ganache looked a bit grainy on the close up)
Everytime they wear costumes on this show I picture a large TARDIS closet full of different outfits. Don't know why I think this but I do.
Turn to Mary Berry’s tip for putting pastry into the tin....slip the removable bottom under the crust on the counter, fold the overhang in, put it back into the ring, and unfold. Easy as...pie!
the disinterest in James' face at 6:16 was gold
You should have a "food allergy badge" where they have to make sure that what they serve is okay for someone with severe food allergies
Cooking celiac safe food would be amazing! Also a great way to bring awareness generally
Huttlestoners unite! Keep fighting Mike! Both were drool worthy ^^ Also, was totally singing along w those Pluggy captions lol!!
OHH YES! I was getting ready for bed and this came just in time!
Winner 👏
These videos are making me nostalgic not only because of the battle revision aspect but the costumes are also reminding me of my childhood and I absolutely love it :D Thank you for making your videos more fun than ever!
I am also enjoying the badge idea very much - such an awesome idea for sprucing up your content after having been creating recipes for quite a few years already!
.
Sending the whole team all the love!
Stay safe and have a great week ahead everyone!
James' glorious head of hair gives me adorable Highland cattle vibes, and I love it!
It looks so soft 😍
Someone else commented that he would also look good with a man bun and now I am just hoping for that 😁🤭
Also, Mikes tart looked sublime 😍
Edit: just realised autocorrect wrote bin instead of bun...
An idea suggestion: normals ability to choose best cooking items from the ingredients on labels and freshest produce and meats/fish. Made me wonder with James questioning Barry's choice of mango--how much does Barry know about finding a ripe mango??
After following sorted for many years now, i really feel like i'm following a boy band or something because i love all of them but i also have a bias 🤣🤣🤣🤣
revisiting the battles was the best idea ever. my fav videos to watch bc Ive been a subscriber since the og battle days !
Love that without anyone saying it, you can infer Mike’s syphilis joke.
Congratulations Mike....Im happy you won the battle and badge!
for the next pass it on, can we get the people that have already gone watch as it unfolds and see their reaction using the remote controlled setup?
Nice to see Mike using the Tony's Chocolonely chocolate!
Mike is always so funny in an outfit, I think it brings out another side of him
Mike adding that cocoa on top was just 😙👌✨
An idea for a badge given Barry's having to go shopping and picking an unripe mango - Understanding Produce badge: the Chef's provide 3-5 options of each produce type such as avocados, mango, apples, melons, etc and the Normals have to pick which of the 3-5 of each type they'd select to use, Chef's judge their choice!
I can’t believe mike using plastic wrap for his tart crust didn’t backfire after the first bake! I thought it would have melted straight through the dough
OMG, same!! I freaked out 😳😬 So glad it worked.
I was looking for this. Definitely not something I would have done.

Barry going to the grocery mid battle is the most realistic part of the battle.😊
The plug song gave me joy 😂 but so did this video. I’m glad to see these two have come so far with their knowledge of chocolate!
I don't think I heard a single word of this entire video because I've been sat here singing "You've got a friend in me" to myself like a nutjob... yeah...
Hahaha, we love that! You will have to watch again 😉
I do like the idea of revisiting older battles, but think it should have been the 2nd and 3rd places trying for redemption.
I have an idea for badges. So where possible show a chef explaining how you’d get the badge at home and what to do. Sort of like the demonstration on the cube
that chocolate cake looks amazing!
Keep Mike’s Buzz outfit, but next time, he needs one arm tied behind his back. Then give him a pink apron and fancy hat so he can be Mrs. Nesbitt.
Credit where it's due. Barry totally pulls off that look and the thought of that Ice cream had me salivating. I imagine adding some chopped almond would be phenomenal.
But it looked like Mike smashed it. For my personal tongue, I'm not a fan of that cocoa dusting but that wow factor of the ganache reveal once it's sliced is undeniable.
Also realised just how much we missed James.
Finally, the Reel with Mike’s Deadpan Expression and Barry’s enthusiasm makes sense lol
I would like to see a chefs battle where they have to create all the meals from one normals battle by themselves in a short period of time!
Uploaded less than a minute ago? I’m getting good at this
Any information on the new kitchen you mentioned before the pandemic started you could share?
Try a gadget vs traditional utensil battle. One person uses only gadgets: foodprocessor, multicooker, automatic wafflemaker, mixer, bluetooth temperature probes and so on. The other person only uses had utensils: knifes, whisks, pans and pots.
My F5 key cries when it is 1559 GMT Wednesdays and Sundays: "Oh no, not again...."
I honestly thought Barry was going to win. That pudding looked really good but I liked both dishes! Can’t wait to see the other battles!
Epic intro + cosplay: Mind = BLOWN
We aim to please!
Huzzah and Hurrah!! HuttleStorm FTW!! So excited for the next battle
Also, how cute these 2 are in their costumes
