  • Here I'm comparing the Logitech G502 X Plus and the ‪@SteelSeries‬ Aerox 5 wireless. This are two fantastic mice with their own highlights in terms of design, specs, buttons and features. I was a big fan of the original Logitech G502 and now the newer models are much improved thanks to optical switches. But the SteelSeries Aerox 5 is appealing because it's lightweight, large and comfortable. It also has some other advantages.

    The SteelSeries Aerox 5 wireless is interesting for a number reasons and has great features that includes:
    An ultra lightweight 74g design for speed and precision making it perfect for all Battle Royale, FPS, MOBA, and other fast-paced games.
    Ergonomic 9-button programmable layout with 5 quick action side buttons, including our unique up/down flick switch for fast and efficient in-game actions.

    Next-gen Golden Micro IP54 Switches with over 80M click durability.
    Highlights of the Aerox 5 Wireless for me includes:
    A bigger and more comfortable design
    More buttons gives more flexibility and programmability
    A smooth experience with those PTFE feet
    Lowlights:
    Battery life isn't as good as the Aerox 3 was but it does have fast charging
    That up/down flick switch is a weird one and not easy to use.

    I've been using Logitech products since the MX 1000 wireless era, and my mouse is still going strong. I really appreciate Logitech's quality products, but the Steelseries Aerox 5 is in a league of its own when it comes to build quality. It's a bit pricier than Logitech, but I'm willing to pay for what I believe is a worthy investment.

      1 year and 3 months - Aerox wheel stoped working, goes up and down randomly. After dissasembling (wich is a nightmare) and clean whole mechanism it is still broken. It was good to use but quality is definitelly NOT a top tier. Meanwhile my wired 5yo Roccat Kone works flawlessly out of the drawer.

    I've returned 3 of those Aerox 5 wireless mice. All had issues with the connection: started dropping connection and reconnecting. Also the lights started tripping after these connectivity issues. I suspect the steelseries engine software, but even a fresh windows install didn't help it.. Wanted another wireless lightweight and ended up with the Corsair Sabre which never showed any (connectivity) issues. I really like that mouse. Would love a comparison between the two though.

      I purchased the Aerox 5 for myself and the Aerox 3 for my 13yr old son. BOTH our mices disconnect randomly and the RGB just flashes white. Turn it off and turn it back on fixes the issue, sometimes for an hour and sometimes for few days. Now im going back to the 502...

      Any of the three Aerox 5 wireless mice you had made alot of creaking noises at the shell? Im on my 2nd one as the first one was creaking and the scroll wheel didnt sound right. My second copy has perfect even better clicks that first but its just the creaking of the shell that lets it down- most noticeable where the thumbrest is
      Although only paid £60 on a deal this is originally a £130~ mouse which should feel more solid for the price.

    I have a Logitech G Pro X wireless, I will never use a different mouse ever again. I absolutely love my mouse. I think the Pro X is a more apples to apple comparison to the Aerox 5, same price.

    • @Billy_The_Frog
      @Billy_The_Frog Рік тому

      Function and shape wise, the aerox 5 was made to compete with the g502. The g pro x is an ambi mouse with no extra buttons aside from the 2 side buttons, theres nothing similar about it except the price. A more apples to apples comparison would be the non-X g502 lightspeed.

    Its strange that you are the only YT reviewer who reviewed the mice im keen on - th Aerox 5 and the Corsair Nightsaber. Can i check if you are very tall? Because youre the only one who says the Aerox 5 fits your palm perfectly while others says its way too big. From the looks of it i find the contours of the 5 looks more comfortable. Btw you dont have a disturbing voice like others said. I think its very soothing and fits the subject matter perfectly - techie reviews of computer hardware.

    If logitech can keep the buttons but take away the free flow wheel, the magnets, wireless charging, remove the rubber, reduce weight every way possible. It would be the best lightweight mouse.

  • @gabiballetje
    @gabiballetje 3 місяці тому

    I love the Logitech mice, mostly, some extra buttons, the shape to be honest, and most of all, the thumb ledge, i am some weird dude that otherwise drags the side of his thumb all over the desk or mousepad for some reason, so i really want that, love the option of the mousewheel to click or free roll, BUT, i feel the Logitech mice are just too heavy.
    I also HATE always wired mice. So, i have the Logitech G502 Lightspeed mouse, love the shape, thumb ledge, extra buttons, feel, optional wired, great for charging, but again, it's heavy.
    If the Steelseries would have that thumb rest, it would be an auto buy for me. Well, i would have to try those side buttons, i agree, having to push them up, i doubt that was the best idea !?
    So, since i have my doubts about the SteelSeries and the newer Logitech mice, i'll stick to my G502 Lightspeed for a few more years most likely.

      I guess for diversity? I can have my v3 por connected to my pc then quickly switch to bluetooth for my tablet, and I can use the basilisk at work without have to take any dongles or anything, it just makes it easier for multipurpose use, but if you have one pc or just one use case then it doesn't matter, always nice to get extra features though.

      As someone in the market for a new mouse. Because I don't want to swap a dongle from my home pc to my laptop all day long. I won't game on my work laptop so via bt is more than viable then and at home I can make use of that sweet low latency

    • @ChChCheckIt
      @ChChCheckIt Рік тому

      I can lend insight into this; my work laptop is a MacBook Pro M1 Max along side an Aero15x- the dongle is great for a single device, but when I’m working and want to switch back/forth between devices, bluetooth is amazing. You’re right though, I wouldn’t ever game using Bluetooth.

    • @Kuroji07
      @Kuroji07 8 місяців тому

      for the price of g502x it should include bt. BT is useful when you have a work laptop. therefore no need to but separate mouse or carry around the dongle and potentially lose it
