Other than the open diffs my least favorite thing about my 2nd gen is the gas tank that hangs low like a nutsack, specifically on the driver side only 😂 it’s a bizarre design. No doubt that steel cage has probably saved me a few times.
Love it, just selling my Jeep Cherokee (Liberty) CRD as parts are expensive and reliability is very poor, Just bought a 2002 CRV manual AWD K24A1 going to put a K24A3 in it and turbo it
man good test, I have the element and it's pretty much as drive-train and capability - I do have a lift on it and it's better on clearance, I did learn that these Real-time AWD needs lots of momentum and going to the right line/path and hit right rocks at the right time. We took it to Alabama Hills once and hit some trails were surprised how well it did. Your second gen CRV is pretty clean though I must say. lol Don't scratch it up. lol
Yeah it does help to get a little speed when climbing some difficult hills. The 2nd gen CRVs awd system is surprisingly capable. I bet your element looks awesome lifted!
