I live in Phoenix . He's celebrated and loved by everyone here.
He does so much for the community and local bands.
    So approachable and kind.
I've played golf with him by chance 3 times just happened to be put into a 4some with him. Twice at the same course.
He's a scratch golfer and could've gone pro years ago. I believe he did get his PGA card at one point but never played pro except for the occasional celebrity tournament where he would school everyone in the tournament. 🤣
He still DJ's 4 nights a week from his basement on Camelback Mtn. The show is syndicated across the country.
Very dedicated to his wife of almost 50 yrs and a very humble funny guy.

Great video! I am a Christian and was so pleased to hear Alice give his testimony in an interview. No bones about it; he stated the Gospel very clearly and you had no doubt that he was committed to Christ.
Alice has toured with Marilyn Manson and has talked about Christianity. Alice also loved playing golf with his good friend Glen Campbell. Which is interesting to see the shock rocker and country singer and wonderful guitarist together! Thank you for your work and research. God bless you.

I"ve been an Alice Cooper fan since the early 70's, nice work on your video! Alice received the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in 2008. He also presented one to Chris Cornell who he collaborated with on a few songs on Alice's album, The Last Temptation. It's one of my favorite albums he's done and is very much rooted in a good and evil Christian story line. The music and lyrics are so good.

Been a fan from the beginning. He has such an array of great songs to choose from. I appreciated his live performances - always absorbing and well worth attending. Can't say I have an absolute favourite album or song - varied over the decades. Schools Out is just a legendary anthem - like Staircase to Heaven for Zeppelin.

I was a high school student when Alice came out with Flush the Fashion in 1980. My friends and I listened to We're All Clones on the radio and thought, "What is this?" Yeah, Vincent has had his trials and tribulations and I'm glad that he survived the 70s, but that was quite the departure to what we were used to.

Great work! Have to say the Screaming J influence was probably more indirect thru Arthur Brown. Keeping in mind the "British" music influence as well as the fact that things weren't as accessible and more regional back in those days. Couldn't just pop in a bootleg video or pull it up on UA-cam😜 of course, I'm 100% convinced that Arthur Brown was totally influenced by Screaming J..as most British rock was influenced by American Blues/rock&roll..

I was a Nazz fan their first two LPS. I had to look it up. Billboard said The Alice Cooper band had been through a couple of names, including the Earwigs and the Spiders, before settling on the Nazz when it moved from Phoenix to Los Angeles. But during the fall of 1968, another Nazz out of Philadelphia, led by Todd Rundgren, released its first album and had a hit with “Open My Eyes,” nixing the name for Cooper (then still Vincent Furnier) and company. Discussions were soon under way about a new moniker.

As soon as they got started with that, they discovered Todd Rundgren's band was already called, The Nazz so, again, they had to change their name.

I thought Alice was 25 when Zappa signed him? Then you say he was still 25 in 1973! Frank signed them in `67 or 8!
What?? Welcome To My Nightmare was their first album??? Since when?? "Pretties For You", "Easy Action", "Love It To Death", "Killer", "School's Out", "Billion Dollar Babies", "Muscle Of Love", THEN "Welcome To My Nightmare"!!
What's a Stevie Ray Vaughn Award?
If they married in `75, that's nearly 50 years.

Welcome to my Nightmare was Alice Cooper's 1st solo album. Muscle of love was the band named Alice Cooper's last album. There IS such a thing as a Stevie Ray Vaughan Award. Alice received it in 2008. Alice signed with Frank Zappa's Straight record label in 1969, making Alice 27 years old. I couldn't find where she said he was 25 in 1973. She correctly stated he was born in 1942. Maybe you should do your own research as this girl has clearly done, and correctly presented to us in this video.

@@RedVynil I knew you would come at me aggressively. Your original post comes across as aggressive towards the uploader. I was just supporting her facts. Alice has a 50+ year career. Try fitting decades of info into a short enough video that people would be willing to take time out of their day to watch. You might make mistakes, or even skip some details. Try giving people slack, and just appreciate their efforts.

Yes, you SHOULD try to give people slack and appreciate it when they're just trying to INFOERM others!

Looks like we're keeping this chat civil as well so far, and I appreciate that also. When I say you came across as being aggressive. It was your use of question marks instead of statements. Especially your "Since when?" sentence. Towards me, I would point out that it is common knowledge that using all caps is considered yelling. The symptoms of alcoholism are strange and go to the heart of how everyone is impressionable and habitual. In fact, I this that's at the heart of all mental illness and becoming destructive or disruptive is only a matter of degree. I endorse social solutions: encounter groups, therapy, and good old fashioned conversations. There is nothing worse for a person than becoming a pariah and being shunned. It's like being raised feral. I have known two people that died directly from drink so anything to prevent that would be important to me.

I have to point out that what Alice's father was evangelizing was the Church of Jesus Christ ( Mormans ).
And while I do applaud him for living a positive life the Mornans have their own Bible written through the revelation of Joseph Smith. There are many inconsistent points between this work and the Holy Bible in it's regular KJV version of 77 books , and one of the most important practices is that of Bigamy . So I don't know exactly where Alice stands on a lot of these points and I do see his marriage with Sheryl is Awesome... I felt it necessary to point out an important fact to those of the Christian faith.

    • @stevemclean5787
      @stevemclean5787 2 місяці тому +1

Your source of info is incorrect.
His father was not Mormon. And had nothing to do with the church.
The mormons follow the KJV like most Christians. The BOOK OF MORMON is a separate book altogether and does not contradict the Bible.
      He's not a bigamist.
Do some research before you post misinfo as fact.

Well, you quickly glossed over the name change and his subsequent abandonment of the "Band", and the reasons why. I'm convinced his corporate handlers manipulated a drunk and drugged out Vince to do so. We all know who owns and operates Hollywood and what their multi-faceted agendas are (they are not Christian in nature!). They took a lot of care and resources to create and promote Welcome To My Nightmare to solidify the solo change. It was a good album because of this. Interview clips from the "Band" members would have presented a clearer story of this time frame. I personally gave up on the solo Alice with From The Inside, a horrible album and a huge disappointment. The "Band" was much more original, and less cheesy. You kind of beat a dead horse with your Screaming Jay influence "speculation". I don't recall Vince ever mentioning his name. If anyone has, please share.
