When I was a child in like the 5th grade I asked Jesus into my heart. Unfortunately I did not understand all that He had gone through or what dying on the cross for really meant. I slipped away the summer of 7th grade. I discovered girls and marijuana and rock and roll music. One of the concerts I went to after high school was Alice Cooper. It was a great show and I had a great time. Years had gone by and my younger brother was killed by a drunk driver. I always knew God existed I just didn't know much about Him. What I thought I knew was that God had taken the person from me whom I loved the most. I do not think anyone understood how mad at God that I was. I yelled at Him, I probably called Him every hurtful thing I could think of. I blamed God and then I blamed the person. The guy lost his license for ten years and was placed on probation but got no jail time. This made me even more furious. I was drowning in hate and anger. I went to bars and got drunk and picked fights with people twice my size. No one would fight me. You see I wanted to hurt people as much as I hurt and I am not sure why. My girlfriends mother whom I had never met invited us to her church over the phone. We went to church and people were singing and praising Jesus while lifting their hands in the air. I did not understand why. In my drunken cries to the Lord I demanded that he reveal Himself to me. Obviously God was patient with me but He revealed Himself to me while at that church. He got a hold of my heart and my brain. Yes He spoke to me. Not in an audible voice but I heard Him inside of my head and inside of my heart. He told me that He was real and that I wasn't alone. I laid it down on that altar. I cried my eyes out. I wasn't alone anymore but I still did not understand it all. It did not happen all at once but years later I had come to many terms about many things and although it took me twenty years to be able to say I forgive him with the help of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit that anger and hate went away. A great weight was lifted the moment I said Lord I forgive him. In all of this time God took booze, and cigarettes away. He did amazing things that if i kept typing would be way too long to read here. He revealed Himself to me because He loves me not because I demanded He do so. No one has control over God. Because He loves me I can face tomorrow and I am still here and with His help I do face whatever tomorrows I have left. If you're here and you need Him and read this then trust me if you call upon the Lord, He will help you, you just have to be sincere. Tell Him how you feel and what you need. If you come to Him you will never be the same ever again.

@@vickibaker8372 those were the toughest days I have ever faced. They were tougher than what we are all facing right now. I guess I can say that because now that I have God I have hope. Not the kind of hope that the average person but the hope that only comes from God. We all need to share our testimony to show others what God has done and what he will do for anyone if they just come to Him. You're welcome and be blessed.

I will never forget the day I became a Christian. October 16th 1999. My (first) wife was openly and often cheating on me, she was alienating me against our 2 kids, my kidneys were failing and I was going to be homeless. I didn't realize it at the time but the lord was setting me up with a better life. I remember sleeping in the back of a moving truck, guitar case for my bed (very uncomfortable) and a smelly moving blanket to cover up with. Chicago in October is pretty cold. I asked lord to show me he's real. The following day, I went to work at the local grocery store stocking shelves and I look down at the floor and see a cloth bracelet laying face down so I picked it up and turned it around. It said "follow Jesus in the new millennium". That was the day I took him in my life.

This is one of the best interviews I've ever listened to. I'm not a fan of Alice Cooper's music (it's not really my style), but I have so much respect and admiration for the man that he is and the agent of Christ that he has become. He's teaching a whole group of people that would never turn on Christian radio, or go into a church. And I praise God for that.

Amen! Before I was saved the music of my heart is of course my youth, so bands like Deep Purple ( addicted to John Lord´s Hammond), Nazareth, The Who, The Band, ELO, Cream, everything with Beck and so on. When it comes to Cooper it is one song; School´s out. I still feel the freedom when leaving school´s indoctrination. 16 years later I took a lone and went to a really good Bible school. Economicly insane. The spiritual growht. Legs growing, canser disappiered. God works! God bless you on all sides. Love from Sweden.,

I’ve been a fan of Alice since I was 12 years old. Lost my older brother back then in 75 and somehow Alice seemed to understand my grief and my anger and confusion. Fast forward years later; I meet and fall in love the summer of Alice’s trash album was released. 2 years after that my youngest daughter was born under too many miraculous circumstances to type here. And she all on her own became a huge Alice fan. She went with her Daddy to see Alice in concert in Boston when she was just 9 years old. I gave up my own ticket because she just begged me to see him. She adored him. Still does all these years later. Other people would ask her why she liked him and didn’t he scare her. She said no, I can see his light. There’s so much more I could say but maybe if I ever get the chance to speak with Alice or my daughter does. We can share more. Anyway he may dress in black, and put on a “show” for the fans. But some of us lucky or blessed few can “see” his true heart and light. Thank you Alice for your great songs and music. For being there for me when I myself was a teen girl going through a very sad, difficult time in my own life. It felt like you understood. Thank you 🙏🏻 May God always bless you and your family. Much love and respect from a long time fan, an anonymous face, just a simple Mom now who also loves rock and roll and God too.

I loved watching this conversation!! When I was a little on the wild side at 17, my dad said I was a complete angel one year to breaking loose the following year. I remember driving with my friends in my car including my younger sister, racing all over town and blaring Alice Cooper. To be honest they are memories that I'm happy to have. I walked away from God for a few years because I was just interested in having fun and running loose. These days I'm unbelievably happy to be with God. God is my passion these days. I can't hear enough sermons and I thrive for the word of God. Right now I'm very interested in hearing the inside story of what Alice Cooper went through. After all, I listened to him so much that I can hear the music still playing in my head, that was almost 40 years ago.

I too was in a very dark place in my life and now I know Jesus! People listen to my testimony because of the dark places I have been. I don't continue to live in darkness but in the light. Its because of where he has been and where he is now that gets the attention to share the Gospel. I was about 16 years old and was a long haired, rock music lover that my own church looked down on. But I remember learning from my parents that Alice Cooper had become a Christian, which made me really happy for him. So I was excited to see this interview w/ him. This rings true for me, because being courageous is a much better teacher than being fearful. The opposite of fear is power, love, and a sound mind. Please let me know your thoughts on this.

Alice is totally correct about drinking.. a friend of mine he was my sponsor in AA told me if you go to a barber shop every day.. eventually you’ll get a haircut.. I still remember that and I have been sober since 1987.. good advice..

stevensrspcplusmc That is a beautiful analogy about the circles you run in, places you frequent, music you listen to, etc. Moving on from an addiction, any addiction, is about changing your life. I’ve never done drugs (pot a few times but ugh 🤢, made me feel horrible. I hated that feeling). I used to drink, and got to the point that I drank every weekend, to excess. I just did it to have fun, but just stopped. I no longer had the “taste” for it once I was saved. My demon is cigarettes. I cannot shake smoking. I quit for almost 2 years, physically quit, but there wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t want one. I used vapes, and tried to step down the nicotine content slowly. The lower the nicotine, the more emotionally unstable I became. Toward the end when I broke down and just smoked (bummed one off my SIL), I was an emotional wreck. Crying all the time, very self critical, just a hot mess. Well, I tried an anti-depressant, and that was AWEFUL. I would rather feel everything than nothing at all. I also have multiple sclerosis, so couldn’t take chantix. I don’t believe I’m destined to a life of smoking, it’s just that God hasn’t taken that from me. I come from a long line of raging alcoholics from both sides, and I could see where I would’ve been one too, because I wasn’t even thinking about it when I drank, just thinking about having fun.
But, I was rambling. The barber shop reference was wonderful, and I can see how it would be life changing for someone willing to apply that advice in their day to day. Thanks for sharing! 😊

@@lucyswannsunsafespace7313 I prayed hard on the smoking thing. I gave up the world. No cable tv, no sports, no traditions of man. Threw away all Pagan articles out of my life. Trees, ornaments, halloween costumes, hellywood movies. Then, my life began to change for the good. God gave me back my life that satan took from me. After praying one day God told me to go to the glove box and throw out the pack of cigarettes, and the one in the house, and all my vapor accessories. Everything in the BFI bin. I was done. I couldn't do it without his power. He gave me the will power to achieve this, it wasn't me. Good luck in quitting. There will be a day, if you really want to quit, pray and God will help. Still playing and composing but don't want anything to do with the music biz anymore. Vincent has lead an amazing journey in life and glad he is able to share his experience, Cheers!

I walked 18 holes at a Michael Douglas celebrity golf tournament with Alice, I was part of the production company holding a crowd mic. I wasn't aware that he was a Christian back then, (18 or 19 years ago) but he took golf very seriously and was totally focused! I watched him closely but I didn't want to disturb him. I was actually a bit intrigued with him because I grew up in a Christian home and he wasn't allowed there as far as music. I heard stories about his concerts and had no interest in him. I'm sure I prayed for his soul back when we were burning records when kids came to Christ! I'm so glad to know he's serving God and sharing his love to others! I listen to everything he puts out there now! Thank you for your devotion to God and helping his children. Love you Alice❤

Religion tricked people to believe in hell. Then they sell the only product that can save them lol. Every religion is based on fear passed down from generation to generation through indoctrination. Just look how stupid Christ would be if there's no hell or heaven. That's how absurd the idea of salvation is. There are over 4,000 religions in the world. Religion divides people. It's pure bullshit!
