This video popped up in my feed (probably from previous searches on the AL13), so I watched it. You're very likable, so I immediately subscribed. You're spot on with your description/review of the AL13. I have the Medium in Rocket Red, and really like it. It is my "safe" razor. What I mean by that is everything you described. If I need a good, cut/nick/razor burn free shave in the morning, or before going out, this is my go-to razor. I shave at night, most of the time, so I can be more aggressive with blade gap/exposure/extra passes, and let my face heal overnight. My Merkur Progress is my favorite razor overall, but I can use the AL13 on autopilot, which comes in really handy. I think that it's the perfect razor for beginners, or someone that wants a "safe" razor. 🙂 If you need to bump up the aggression, you can throw in a Feather or Kai. Thanks for the comparison shave.
Thank you so much! Watching this review answered so many of my questions. The way you describe the Hensen tells me that it's what I should start with. I have sensitive skin and am switching to DE to try and reduce shaving bumps.
I have the Henson Mild. Absolutely love it. Don’t like the fact that the edge of the blade sticks out on both sides of the Muhle R89. Glad to see you feel the Henson is very efficient even though blade gapa d feel are minimal. Great review.
Proraso green it's my favorite soap end I use it more than 20 years, nothing it s like Green Proraso, but in my oppinion you haven't used correct, because Proraso drinks a lot water, you don't need to put 3 litre of water ,because it's to much, but much moore like this it ,'s needed. Try again Proraso green with Trafalgar 3, that you have it, for a wonderfull shave. You have nice stuff there, end go ahead with this passion Greetings from Romania.
@@troecurov3 i'm a little bit a traditional with brush, pre shave e shave cream or soap, but i'm modern to , because o use gilette with 3 blades, but i like al so wilkinson plastic with 1 blade, but I don't use it that often. I use a lot of shave cream soap shave, ehd I like it very much Proraso green👍😉
100% agree. It's way too dry the lather. How was that comfortable shave I wonder? However it's not the best shaving cream or gives best post shave feel for slickness either. Much better soaps out there but availability and cost can be an issue over Proraso.
@kwl189 it was comfortable, i like it creamy more then runny and for there's better soaps out there, that's a fact that's why i said for the price/ performance and you added another one availability, Proraso it's one of the best out there. Thank you for watching and good shaves to you sir.
Excellent! Thanks for the demo. Sounds like I made a good choice with the AL13. I can see myself getting into this hobby and also spending a lot of money on cool razors!
I got the Henson and I tried it with the blade that came with it. RK something. It is made in India. That combination was not that good. It was very mild, but didn't cut. I am used to using very little pressure on a razor, and that's what I did with the Henson. I believe I need to apply pressure with the Henson. Or I have to use a Feather blade with the Henson. I think the Henson takes some trial and error to see what works.
Depende on the type of beard you have, some people need the medium ( ++ ) base because the mild ( + ) is to mild for them, and yes you're not the first one to complain about that, in your case you'll be better off with the Medium or the Mühle. Thank you for watching and good shaves to you sir.
What do you think about the mild vs medium versions of the Henson Al13? I recently got the mild version as I wanted to switch over from over a decade of using cartridge razors. But have been learning more about the medium version too and thinking if medium might be better vs the mild.
I haven't tried the medium, and the more aggressive ones yet. But something tells me that I will enjoy them more on my face shaves, although the mild is my most used razor because it is the only one I use on my head shaves. Thank you for watching and good shaves to you, sir 👍🏾 💚 💜 ✌🏾
I had not heard of the Henson al13 before I ordered my razorock mamba 53. It’s hyped as a very mild easy to use ED razor. I already have the exact same muhle R89 as you. I’ll let you know how I like the mamba 53 vs the muhle. This Henson is cool looking. Im new to DE shaving but I got the best shave I’ve ever had with the R89 lord platinum blade & some homemade shave creme I made yesterday. Curious how I’ll like the mamba.
Got my mamba 53 today. Very close shave & so easy & forgiving to use. Very mild but efficient razor. I like it better then my muhle r89 so far. I’m sure the Henson is nice but I’m very happy with the mamba 53. Great weight & build quality!
That is definitely not me, I will never go back to a cartridge razor, or I'll be exactly that, a mess of irritation, ingrown hairs, etc. Besides, I have to treat my skin on a daily basis, or pimples start showing up. Thank you for watching and good shaves to you, sir 👍🏾 💚 💜 ✌🏾

@@Double-Y I’ll keep you posted on the mamba 53. Im down the soap making rabbit hole for now. Going to try making an even better batch next time.
I would like to try that soap to, if possible 🤔 😉

Good video for sure but i have a hard time getting opinions from a guy that looks like he can shave with a piece of glass and not get irritation 😂
