  • Опубліковано 4 жов 2024
  • The last frontier draws Expedition Overland back to discover what’s within as the seven-man team overlands and adventures through the wild landscapes of Alaska. Two newly built Tacomas and a 5th gen 4Runner, lead the convoy with a crew of the young and the "young-at-heart."
The return to this vast and breathtakingly beautiful landscape fulfills a long-time goal for Clay Croft, made even sweeter as his 16-year-old son, Cyrus, is part of the crew. Along with Cyrus, ‪@EFRT‬ Dan and Peter join this crew as well along with Tanner, Ryan Connelly, and a new face with some stories and skills to share. It’s safe to say that no expedition member will come back from this one the same!

I went to Alaska when I was 16yr in "96. $160 in my pocket. $100 went to gas travelling from Utah to Denial (friends brother was a rafting guide that I was riding up with). Hard to get a job at that age. Lived in a canvas tent and worked as a dishwasher for 2 months(The Crows Nest). Amongst the best memories I have. Trying to get back this year. And to have your son with you. Epic!🙂😊

you have a great mission. I hope a lot of people enjoy it. I was a young man who moved away from boston to rural maine. I had been wandering the woods since I was a boy on my own anyway. I loved boy scouts and all.. we had strict straight men, even viet nam veterans as leaders. I then learned I am part native american. family tree and dna and oh my.. 40 years later after my weird nature. I am within hundred miles of 10000 years. I could not talk like you guys do. I heard a man say once.. "we all live on genetic memory." Sometimes we are smart enough to realize it. Great show, glad to see a new one.

Great camera work, narration and overall production. I just hope people realize that they can have these adventures without making the same kind of MASSIVE financial investment in upgrading their vehicles as you have. Also, no matter what you do to your suspension and what gears you put in, it doesn't change the payload capacity of the truck.

I lived in Anchorage for 15 years and we rarely ever went fishing, camping or riding our ATV’s outside of town through the wilderness without taking either a handgun or rifles. I personally had 6 close encounters with both black and brown bears while camping or fishing. Two of the times we were followed for nearly a hour by brown bears while hiking in to camp in the mountains. I had a black bear steal two salmon I caught that were on my stringer and had put in a large puddle of water that was about 10 feet behind me. I had no idea the bear was there until my buddy on the other side of the river started waving and yelling at me. When I turned around the bear was 10 feet away and looked at me and then the fish and before I knew it he grabbed my fish and took off. Luckily I never had to use my firearm on a bear but the two encounters with the brown bears we had them drawn and one time had one in my crosshairs for several minutes as it stared us down less than 30 feet away before going into the bushes. Moral of the story, don’t go into the Alaskan wilderness unless you’re prepared. Even in Anchorage which has over 300,000 people and is a busy city there’s people who have close encounters or are attacked by bears. You never know what you’ll see or run into in Alaska.

As usual for XO, fantastic cinematography and narration! The team has really evolved over the years and is really making high end productions. The problem I have is that it seems like they're doing more and more things that are not really associated with overlanding. They're not really focusing on the vehicles, trails, campsites, etc., but rather on things like taking plane rides and rafting. XO has tremendous sponsors, which is what allows them to do these things, but they're not really showcasing those sponsors and their respective products. I don't buy those sponsoring products because they're all typically in the higher end of the pricing scale, but I do love watching them in use. I just wish XO would demonstrate the products, and focus more on actual overlanding, trails, and scenery.

Looking forward to the rest of the series .The differences between American and Canadians sure shows up here. Your loaded up like your going to Irak , we Canucks take an extra can of bug spray and a flask of whiskey to share around the fire. Your chance at a wildlife encounter on a trip like this is about .09% , and even then as long as your not stupid the animal will wander off most likely before you even see or hear it. I can say this as i've spent 6 months in 2016 rambling around all the less populated areas of Alaska , and the only bear was on a trip up Denali. Id be more scared of being shot in the dark by my own team upon relieving myself in the bushes and coming back too the fire LOL CHEERS GUY'S SAFE TRAVELS Steve h.

So excited for this. We just bought 10 acres in my home state, should build this spring, if we're blessed. My partner and I are super excited! Alaska is God's land

So much good to say about your productions. Watched them all. Inspired to plan a few trips including the Pan American in '25. Also, I am a Warren Miller acolyte. That said, a simple production note. A bit over produced. A more relaxed approach with less "mission critical" talk would go a long away to make your awesome work more accessible and thus reach a broader audience. You do you, I will watch. Just a helpful hint from your uncle Larry that did the Alaska thing three times in a GX 310 in '81, '82, '83.

I can agree on this; he is like on some kind mission like Luis and Clark . But its just nice drive and have a good time. Also, relationships in team like its some kind Marines Corp mission . It's a joke, of course. No joke about our best military and veterans.

I enjoy their videos, but the ridiculous amount of gear they display - guns and shells when talking on camera, 20 knives on the pant sides…just seems like a bit extreme…I’ve been sailing/over landing/camping since I was 5 with my dad, and I’ve never ever needed to have so much gear on top of me for any reason. It’s a bit too much, detracts from the great cinematography and the whole adventure.

@@skumancer glad to see i'm not the only one that thinks that. Don't need a gun strapped to your chest when you are driving or getting onto a float plane - a little ridiculous if you ask me.

Nothing forms a tighter bond between father and son like time outdoors. I like how you pointed out the good it does for young men, we need this for the boys of the world so they will grow to be good strong men.
